A centrifugal pump takes in energy from the prime mover which
drives it and converts this energy into pressure energy within the
liquid being pumped.
The pressure developed and the rate of flow of the pumped liquid
will depend upon the design of the impeller (diameter, width,
shape of vanes) and the speed of its rotation.
