Virtual Physiology Installation

With Windows 2000/XP the programs of the Virtual Physiology Series show the error message "Insert Original Disk", even if the Original-CD-ROM is inserted. To solve this problem you have to start the programs from hard disk. The following hints will show you how to install the programs on hard disk. Please note: Before you use the programs on several computers you have to buy site licenses.

1 SimNerv
1.1 How to install SimNerv on hard disk 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Unzip the file SIMNERV.TBK from the archive SIMNERV_E.ZIP. Copy all files in the folder ENGLISH\E_VOLL on your Original CD-ROM to a folder of your choice on the hard disk of your computer (requires 42 MB of free hard disk memory). In this folder you will find in the subdirectory SN the file SIMNERV.TBK. Exchange this file with the file SIMNERV.TBK, which you have unzip in step 1 Start the SETUP.EXE in the folder on your hard disk (NOT on CD-ROM). An installation windows will be shown. Start the installation by clicking the first button "Vollstndig". Start the program by doubleclicking the STARTSN.EXE in the SimNerv folder on your harddisk.

1.2 How to install SimNerv in a MS Windows Network 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Unzip the file SIMNERV.TBK from the archive SIMNERV_E.ZIP. Copy all files in the folder ENGLISH\E_VOLL on your Original CD-ROM to a folder of your choice on the hard disk of your MS Windows server (requires 42 MB of free hard disk memory). In this folder you will find in the subdirectory SN the file SIMNERV.TBK. Exchange this file with the file SIMNERV.TBK, which you have unzip in step 1 Make sure that all clients have authorization to access the SimNerv folder on your server. To install the correct paths it is necessary to run the SETUP.EXE in the SimNerv-Folder of the server on every client. An installation windows will be shown. Start the installation by clicking the first button "Vollstndig". Start the program on the clients with the STARTSN.EXE in the SimNerv-Folder on the server hard disk.

2 SimMuscle, SimVessel, SimHeart

2.1 How to install SimMuscle (resp. SimVessel, SimHeart) on hard disk 1. 2. 3. 4. Unzip the file LABOR_M.EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) from the archive MUSCLE_E.ZIP (resp. VESSEL_E.ZIP, HEART_E.ZIP). Copy all files in the folder MUSCLE_E (resp. VESSEL_E, HEART_E) on the CD-R to a folder of your choice on the hard disk of your computer (requires 65 MB of free hard disk memory for each program). Copy the unzipped file LABOR_M.EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) (see step 1) to this folder on your hard disk. Delete the file LABOR.EXE in this folder and rename the file LABOR_M. EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) to LABOR.EXE Start the program by doubleclicking MUSCLE.EXE (resp. VESSEL.EXE, HEART.EXE, PATCH.EXE) in the folder on your hard disk.

2.2 How to install SimMuscle (resp. SimVessel, SimHeart) in a MS Windows Network 1. 2. 3. 4. Unzip the file LABOR_M.EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) from the archive MUSCLE_E.ZIP (resp. VESSEL_E.ZIP, HEART_E.ZIP). Copy all files in the folder MUSCLE_E (resp. VESSEL_E, HEART_E) on the CD-R to a folder of your choice on the hard disk of your MS Windows server (requires 65 MB of free hard disk memory for each program). Make sure that all clients have authorization to access this folder on your server. Copy the unzipped file LABOR_M.EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) (see step 1) to this folder on the server. Delete the file LABOR.EXE in this folder and rename the file LABOR_M. EXE (resp. LABOR_V.EXE, LABOR_H.EXE) to LABOR.EXE

Start the program on the clients by doubleclicking the MUSCLE.EXE (resp. VESSEL.EXE, HEART.EXE, PATCH.EXE) in the folder on your server.

3 SimPatch
3.1 How to install SimPatch on hard disk 1. Copy all files in the folder PATCH_E on the Original CD-ROM to a folder of your choice on the hard disk of your computer (requires 50 MB of free hard disk memory). 2. Start the program by doubleclicking the PATCH.EXE in this folder. 3.2 SimPatch is not networkable!
