Short description of the project: Social network sites have gained tremendous traction recently as a popular online hangout spaces for both youth and adults. People flock to them to socialize with their friends and acquaintances, to share information with interested others, and to see and be seen. While networking socially or for professional purposes is not the predominant practice, there are those who use these sites to, make business acquaintances, discuss on political issues, promote their ideas and activities. 30 people coming from Finland, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia and Estonia will live together for 8 days and by using media tools will excperience and learn to promote active citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries to contribute to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field to promote European cooperation in the youth field The training course Jump into the net", taking place in Sauvo(Turku), Finland from 17 to 25 March 2014, is designed for young people interested in new media and mainly its social dimension. The main goal of the training course is to show the participants how they can use the opportunities given by the information and communication technologies (ICT) for promoting important topics and use them as a tool for social entrepreneurship. The training course will provide an opportunity for those involved in youth work to improve their knowledge on how to promote participation in NGOs and useful skills, which they can use during cooperation with organizations, building efficient networks with other groups of young people or individuals. The participants will be also motivated to express themselves and become active in creating meaningful content and share stories and experience, as these can be the best inspiration for their peers in their community. During the project the significant role of mass media will be discussed and new tools and opportunities, as well as will exchange the best practices from their countries, discuss the role of media in important historical and current events in their society and around world. The methods of non-formal education and experiential learning, like simulations, role plays, workshops, plenary session and discussions will be used during the workshop to deliver skills of creating multimedia material suitable for promoting the activities of NGOs, groups of young people or independent individuals, being able identify and reach the right audience.

Traveling to Finland:
Participants should arrive to Turku

If you are coming from Helsinki you can take a bus from Helsinki airport. Express Busses from Helsinki airport to Turku can be easily found in front of airport. REMEMBER to inform us about your arraival and departure time! You are kindly asked
to arrive in Turku on 17th of March, 2014 before 14:00 o`clock. The meeting point is in the heart of the centre of Turku (address: Aurakatu 16, 20100 Turku).

Reimbursment:
All the costs of food and accomodation as well as the programme costs will be covered by organizers. Other costs (for example drinks outside the common programme) are not included. Accommodation You will be accommodated on a camping area which is 50 kilometres far from the city of Turku. You will be living in shared cottages with other participants of same sex. Each cottage has got separate bathroom and small kitchen. Bed linen will be provided.
