Project Title: Design of Variable Refrigerant Flow Air Conditioning System in STUDIO.

Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF), also known as Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV). This type of system consists of a number of air handling units (possibly up to 48) connected to a modular external condensing unit. The refrigerant flow is varied using either an inverter controlled variable speed compressor, or multiple compressors of varying capacity in response to changes in the cooling or heating requirement within the air conditioned space. The indoor temperature sensor, according to the actual load of the indoor unit, controls the electronic expansion valve on the refrigerant medium pipe of the indoor unit. And it controls the compressor of the outdoor unit according to the change in the refrigerant medium pressure, varying the refrigerant volume of the system. In this way, the air conditioning system can adjust itself automatically to meet the needs of the change in the indoor load so as to attain the goal of conserving energy. The variable refrigerant volume air conditioning system has a high degree of intellectual control, with every indoor unit being able to directly start the air-conditioning system, freely setting and regulating the temperature, the volume and direction of the current, and the mode. Every indoor unit can separately control its start and close, and set and regulate its operations, so that it can meet the individual needs of the end-users, which is something the central air-conditioning system cannot do.

A typical person in modern society may spend up to 90% of each day indoors. It is not surprising, therefore, that providing a healthy, comfortable indoor environment and it has become a major factor in our economy. This project focuses on designing of an Air-Conditioning System according to ASHRAE & CARRIER standards. It deals with the identification of the factors and sources that effect human comfort. The various parameters that effect human comfort are needed to be synchronized properly as per requirement (temperature, relative humidity, air cleanliness, air motion, noise level etc.) The aim of our project is to Design Air Conditioning System for a STUDIO building. LOCAL STUDIO VYJAYANTHI TELEVENTURES (P) LTD This air conditioning system is carried out to provide human comfort, to increase efficiency of employees, since it is a building construction office centre we use numbers of computers, servers, broadcast instruments etc. It is a general practice that the computers and electronic components should be placed in a cool and a dust free environment in order to perform its function efficiently, because it has several electronics components such as diodes which operates at negative temperatures so care must be taken that the temperatures should not increase a certain value. The total tonnage of this project is to be calculated. Including director, news room, graphics, editing, make up room, server, studio area, etc, In this project the human comfort is prime concern and the aim is to evaluate the heat generated by external & internal source and to provide the desirable cooling with ventilation system as per ASHRAE standards provided with ducting system with proper air distribution, filters, dampers, diffusers, etc, and selecting the VRF units from TOSHIBA catalogue on the basis of nomenclature and the internal machines like FCU OR AHU with their piping.
