Lesson Plan 1 Class Level No.

Previous Knowledge : basic knowledge of verbs in past tense Moral Values : Keeping Time Teaching Aids : A video entitled Jeremy Lin - A Day in the Life: Game Day, timetable Stage/Time Set Induction ( 5 minutes ) Rationale: To stimulate the students with visual representation of a diary/journal. Explanation ( 10 minutes ) Rationale: To expose students to the right way of writing a proper diary entry that mirrors a report. To make sure students know their Simple Past Tense Teaching Learning Activity i. Teacher brings a diary or a journal and shows it to the class. ii. Teacher will ask the students if they kept a diary or a journal to record their daily lives. Audio Visual Aid i. Diary/Journal

i. Teacher explains to the students on how to write a daily report as a diary entry. Teachers will also inform and emphasize the usage of past tense in writing a diary entry. ii. Teacher runs through some common activities found in a students life using the list of verbs and asks the students to identify the past tense of the verbs orally.

Students will be asked to write a diary entry of a recent school event such as Sports Day or Teachers Day individually. i. A video entitled Jeremy Lin - A Day in the Life: Game Day will be played twice with a 3 minute interval. (The video is of 6 minutes) ii. Worksheet 1

i. The diary entries should have at least 3 paragraphs and containing about 150 to 200 words. ii. Unfinished diary entries can be continued at home as extended activity or homework.

i. Teacher recaps the lesson of the day and leaves room for any questions for the students.
