1. POWER: Connecter for a power adapter. Using a power supply with a different voltage rating will damage this product. Make sure to observe the proper power requirements. The requirement of adapter is 12VDC/ 1.5A. 2. ON/OFF: Power switch to power on/off the Freeway DSL. 3. System Requirement
In order to use the AVS920W, you must have the following: ADSL service up and running on your telephone line, with at least one public Internet address for your LAN One or more computers each containing an Ethernet network interface card (NIC) and/or a single computer with a USB port (AVS920W only) An Ethernet hub/switch, if you are connecting the device to more than one computer on an Ethernet network For system configuration using the supplied web-based program: a web browser such as Internet Explorer v5.0 or later, Firefox v2.0 or later, or Netscape v6.1 or later PSTN Green On Off On Slow Blinking Fast Blinking Off On Green Internet Blinking Off Red On

8. RST (RESET): Restore the default settings. You may need to restore the Freeway DSL to its factory defaults if the configuration is changed, you loose the ability to enter the Freeway DSL via the web interface, or following a software upgrade, and you loose the ability to enter the Freeway DSL. To reset the Freeway DSL, simply press the reset button for more than 8 seconds. The Freeway DSL will be reset to its factory defaults. The reboot process will take about 30 seconds and the Freeway DSL will become operational again.

Configuring TCP/IP
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel. 1. Double-click Network and Dial-Up Connections. 2. Double-click the Local Area Connection appropriate for your Ethernet adapter. 3. Click Properties. The Local Area Properties window is displayed. Ensure the box next to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is selected. 4. Click to highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window is displayed. 5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically if you are connecting the AVS920W to the PC via Ethernet. Otherwise, select Use the following IP address and specify an IP address within the subnet such as 192.168.1.5 (assuming the IP address of the AVS920W is 192.168.1.1) if you are connecting the AVS920W to the PC via USB. 6. Click OK twice to exit and save your settings.

Configuring Your Router


There are two parts you need to configure to create the Internet connection.

Part 1. Configure an ATM PVC (VPI/VCI)


Go to Advanced SetupLayer2 InterfaceATM Interface. The Router is shipped with a pre-configured PVC (VPI/VCI) 0/33. The default DSL link type is EoA (for PPPoE, IPoE and Bridge) with LLC/SNAP-Bridging as the encapsulation. If your ISP provides you with other connection parameters, you have to configure them manually to the Router to create the ATM interface. Otherwise, just skip to Step 2 of Part 2.

Enter the Username and Password for your account provided by your ISP. Click Next.

Part 2.Configure the WAN Service


1. Go to Advanced SetupWAN Service, click Add.

Select a preferred WAN interface as the system default gateway. Click Next.

Accessing the Router


You can access the Web Application from any computer connected to the Router via the LAN. 1. Open your web browser. Type the default IP address of the Router http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter. 2. Select a layer 2 interface for your WAN service. Click Next. 7.

Select either obtain DNS information from a WAN interface or specify your preferred DNS server(s). Click Next.

A login screen displays. Enter user name as admin and password as admin (case sensitive). Click OK.

Select the WAN service type and enter a description for this service (optional). Click Next.

Make sure the settings in this table match the information provided by your ISP and click Apply/Save. The Internet LED lit solid green to indicate you are successfully connected to the Internet.

You are now complete the basic configuration of AVS920W. Please refer to Users Manual to configure Wireless and Voice configurations.
