FROM: ORBIS Corporation RE: ORBIS Opens Materials Innovation Center in Menasha, Wis.

DATE: December 26, 2013 _____________________________________________________________________ ORBIS is proud to announce the opening of its new Materials Innovation Center in Menasha, Wis., adjacent to ORBIS existing manufacturing plant. Construction of the Material Innovation Center (MIC) directly supports the implementation of material innovations that secure ORBIS marketplace leadership, development of first-to-market product and reduction of the cost of goods sold. According to Dawn Becher, Materials Laboratory Lead/Chemist , The Material Innovations Center was developed so we can drive value for our customers in the areas of material innovation and product performance testing. The MIC builds confidence and trust in the ORBIS brand as a technological leader in the industry. Additional benefits: Customers will have a place to direct their material and compatibility questions concerning how our products will perform under specific circumstances or in contact with various chemicals used in their processes. The lab can be used to enhance our relationships with these customers by offering analysis services for technical issues of concern. Customers will benefit from our ability to address product quality issues or failures in the field on a much more rapid scale than we could in the past. Increased knowledge of what our competitors are offering in the market place and where ORBIS products excel in comparison

The new center has two separate functions, including material testing and performance testing. This new center will routinely handle requests for competitive analysis from the engineering department, failure analysis on customer returns from our quality group and qualifications of new production resins from the purchasing team. The equipment that will be used in the analytical lab includes an FTIR, DSC, TGA and a digital microscope. The pilot lab will have the CP 23 compounder, the 100 ton press and the three bulk bin stack bays. Early next year, an Instron mechanical tester will potentially be added so that the MIC can offer a full series of physical property tests like tensile and flex modulus. The Materials Innovation center will provide support to Menasha Packaging in addition to ORBIS. The MIC team intends to use the lab as a tour stop and to build brand recognition and confidence. For more technical information and the full capabilities of the Materials Innovation Center, please contact Dr. Dawn Becher, Materials Laboratory Lead/Chemist at dawn.becher@orbiscorporation.com or 920-751-2174.
