Friday Night Soup Supper
Everyone is invited to the UCC Lenten Soup Suppers which will
be held from 6:30-7:30pm Fridays during Lent. Come join us for
a simple meal, a social justice message and wonderful fellow-
ship. Please bring a bowl and a spoon, and some bread to share.
Mark Your Calendars—Communal Penance Service
A communal penance service with individual confessions will be
held on April 3rd at 7 pm at St. Austin’s Parish, one block west
of the UCC.
Triduum Sign-Ups
Many people are needed to help make our Triduum services -
Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil - prayerful and
meaningful. Please consider helping out as Lectors, Extraordi-
nary Ministers of Holy Communion, or in other areas needing
help. Sign-up sheets are next to the large cross in the
atrium. Thank you!
Please Help Make The Worship Space Beautiful for Easter
Donations of Easter flowers will be greatly appreciated to help
decorate the Holy Spirit Chapel, the Blessed Sacrament Chapel,
and the Atrium for Easter. Please consider buying an Easter Lily
(or tow, or more, or any other kind of flower!!!) as a memorial
for a deceased loved one and dropping it off at the UCC during
Holy Week. We will list the names of those you would like
remembered in this way in the bulletin. As always, we are
grateful for your generosity.

Events at St. Austin’s Parish
St. Austin’s will be hosting a six-week dialog series on
Wednesdays at 7 pm in Hecker Hall running until April 8th on
the topic of Awakening Faith—Is connection possible? Where
am I now in life? Where am I going? What do I really want?
What is it all about?
Fifth Sunday of Lent
This weekend, the Church celebrates the third of three scrutinies
with the Elect - those who are preparing for Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. We pray for our
Elect: Jonny Ahn, Jessica Kaizer, Julia Kuo, Megan McSwain,
Lillian O'Connor, Ducela Phan, Scott Vanderpool, and Annahita
Varahrami. These prayers are to assist them in their preparation
for the Easter Sacraments and make firm their commitment as
they enter the Church. Please keep them, as well as our
Candidates for Full Communion: Natalie Carnine, Kris Carter,
Victor Chatman, Whitney Douglas, Erin Eastwood, Danielle
Handsaker, Bryan Hanus, Bobby Jenkins, John Kim, Rachel
Vallejo, and Dung To, in your prayers.
By means of the three scrutinies, first of all, the elect are
instructed gradually about the mystery of sin, from which the
whole world and every person longs to be delivered and thus
saved from its present and future consequences. Second, their
spirit is filled with Christ the Redeemer, who is the living water .
. . the light of the world, . . . the resurrection and the life . .
. From the first to the final scrutiny the elect should progress in
their perception of sin and their desire for salvation.

Reminder!
8 pm Mass attendees are no longer able to park in the lot at
the corner of 20th and Whitis. The only lot for the University
Catholic Center is the lot to our west between our building and
Dobie Mall.
MeatFest Thanks
Lambda Omega Alpha extends its deepest gratitude to all who
supported MeatFest 09. The event was a great success, raising a
profit of $1,076.13, all donated to Micah 6, the nearby ecumeni-
cal food pantry. We very much appreciate your generosity and
hope you enjoyed all the food!
University Graduate Students & Professionals- UGAP
invites all grad students and recently gradated young
adults to join us on Tuesdays at the UCC. For more
info contact Nate at UGAP@utcatholic.org. We
gather in the Atrium at 7 pm and move to the Mother
Teresa room at 7:30 pm.
Gay and Lesbian Support Group
With the encouragement and support of Bishop Aymond, the
UCC has formed a support group for Catholic students who
identify themselves as gay or lesbian. The purpose of this group
is to provide a safe and confidential place for these individuals to
meet for discussion, prayer and fellowship. For more
