About Truelift Truelift is creating a trust mark in microfinance and other forms of social business to signify commitment to positive and enduring change for people living in poverty. Together, we are putting clients living in poverty back at the heart of the microfinance movement. Truelift is administratively housed at the RESULTS Educational Fund in Washington, DC. About the Job Do you believe in the power of microfinance to help families lift themselves out of poverty? Are you interested in international capacity building and coordinating events? Truelift seeks a highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude willing to do a variety of tasks to support the capacity building efforts of the initiative. The intern will support the Executive Director and work with the Project Facilitator to coordinate online and in-person meetings. The right candidate has experience with online event coordination and a fanatical passion for alleviating poverty through education and capacity building in microfinance. The intern will assist in the execution of a web-events series on poverty-focused microfinance, substantially growing Truelifts library of training and capacity building resources. Through this internship, you will gain in-depth knowledge of whats working in poverty alleviation. Truelift is made up of a small but dynamic team of individuals passionate about microfinance and building a community of practice to promote effective poverty outreach and develop services that create positive and lasting change for people living in poverty. Job Logistics The intern will work together with staff 25-50% of each week on a flexible schedule basis. The intern and staff will determine the schedule of weekly working hours in advance. The intern will remain in contact with staff during their remote working hours via Gchat/Skype. Job Responsibilities Engage microfinance experts and Truelift partners in the coordination of web events on povertyfocused microfinance Coordinate and promote global web events using online communication tools, including WebEx, Mail Chimp, Wordpress, and others Create presentation materials for events using Power Point Research potential speaking engagements and engagement opportunities for Truelift Executive Director Coordinate workshop applications as needed Skills / Qualifications / Experience Undergraduate junior or senior, or graduate student Demonstrated creativity and documented experience with event coordination Excellent communication skills and ability to convene others around a common goal Ability to multitask and familiarity with online tools Fluency in spoken and written English required; proficiency in multiple languages a plus (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian) Qualified candidates should send their resume and cover letter to info@truelift.org.
