Chapter IV PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

Special Project Tech ical Fea!i"ilit# In the proposed design of CCTV Monitoring System for Manila Broadcasting

Company, there are three CCTV system set-ups that were considered by the proponent These are the !nalog Standard CCTV Monitoring System, "eb - cam CCTV

Monitoring System and I# "eb Cam CCTV Monitoring System These three CCTV Technologies were presented including each design to assess which design will suit the MBC en$ironment In order to come up with an appropriate decision comparati$e

analysis among the three, CCTV technologies were presented and compared according to the parameters set, such as $ideo %uality, $ideo transmission, cable infrastructure, obscelence, scalability, cost, compatibility, maintenance, security, fault tolerance and reliability, wireless, Installation In each technology , ad$antages and disad$antages were discussed The cost benefits and system installation, super$ision, en$ironmental

1 ' Vi'eo ()alit# - !nalog CC( cameras perform well across a $ariety of lighting conditions and manage motion well !s a matter of fact , MBC personnel prepared to use the con$entional CCTV Systems due to its $ideo %uality Some areas of MBC ha$e low lightning conditions especially during night time , par)ing areas were need to be monitored especially during night time to pre$ent the incident of car napping and other malicious acti$ities at the par)ing lot The management assigned one guard to monitor the par)ing area not only during night time but also during the day In terms of $ideo recording , the analog compresses the $ideo in the (V* where there are more hardware and software resources a$ailable to pro$ide increased $ideo %uality and frame rate Compare with the I# based system, the $ideo is being compressed before monitoring and resulted to lowest %uality or real time images !nalog cameras transmit the $ideo image to the (V* uncompressed where it can be $iewed li$e with no latency pre-compression The difference between analog and I# based CCTV systems differs on the method by which the $ideo signal is transmitted and, ultimately, where the $ideo is compressed, or +encoded, -n the other hand, I# cameras e.cel in capturing high definition, megapi.el images but ha$e trouble with low lighting conditions "ebcam based system ha$e problem in low lightning

&: Though most of attention these days is focused on the transition to I# Video Technology, it is important to note that analog CCTV Solutions can still be highly effecti$e for many sur$eillance applications, especially those on a budget "ith traditional CCTV, the $ideo signal is processed and transmitted in analog format for local $iewing from one central monitoring location But that does not mean you canLt use analog cameras in an I#-based sur$eillance en$ironment =sing I# $ideo encoders and other e%uipment such as digital $ideo recorders and hybrid (V*s ma)es it possible to le$erage your e.isting analog cameras while migrating into the world of digital sur$eillance The combination of !nalog CI# based System will be a solution for a analog and I# migration Reco$$e 'atio !5 !fter a thorough analysis of data, the following recommendations are hereby made 3 This study suggests that for future upgrades MBC can use fiber optics as a medium to transmit $ideo data o$er the <!5 networ) instead of using a coa. or a =T# for their CCTV systems In fact, the use of fiber optic cable will allow for cable runs of o$er 18;; meters 18,;;; feet2 on multimode and distances of o$er 1;)m 19 &miles2 on single mode cable In addition to distance e.tension, fiber optics also presents a number of other uni%ue benefits not present in either coa. or =T# cabling3 M Smaller si4e and better tensile strength ma)ing it easier to install when pulling through conduit or in o$erhead cable trays
