com Immigrant Cages on the Border

WHAT KIND OF A SADISTIC, INHUMAN AND DEHUMANIZING COUNTRY HAVE YOU, OUR CONGRESSMEN AND WE, THE SOCIETY OF OUR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE ALLOWED TO BECOME, AND ALLOWED TO EXIST? HOW MUCH HIGHER WILL THE HATRED AGAINST LATINO IMMIGRANTS BE ALLOWED TO ESCALATE? THESE CAGES ARE REPORTEDLY IN USE ALONG THE BORDER WITH MEXICO. CAN YOUI IMAGINE THE UPROAR WE WOULD HEAR, IF ANY BLOND/BLUE-EYED ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT FROM CANADA, OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY, WERE TO BE DETAINED IN ONE OF THESE LION CAGES? CONGRESSMEN RAUL GRIJALVA, LINDA SANCHEZ, JOE BACA, HOW ABOUT REQUESTING A LONG-OVERDUE CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE ESCALATING RACISM AND INHUMANE FORM OF LAW ENFORCEMENT IN YOUR RESPECTIVE STATE? IS THIS THE FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY WE HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR IN GOD-FORSAKEN COUNTRIES, WITH THOUSANDS OF OUR AMERICAN WARRIORS PAYING WITH THEIR LIVES, SO THAT THE ACTIONS OF OUR COUNTNRY CAN DESCEND TO THIS LEVEL OF RACISM AND CRUELTY, IN CONTRAST TO THE HYPOCRICY WITH WHICH WE CRITICIZE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS OF OTHER COUNTRIES? AS FAR AS I KNOW, I HAVE NEVER READ OF ANY OTHER THIRD WORLD COUNTRY USING SUCH INHUMADE AND SADISTIC METHODS OF IMPRISONMENT OF HUMANS, OTHER THAN THE VIETCONG, TO ENCAGE AMERICAN POWS DURING THE MISERABLE VIETNAM WAR. This sadistic type of law enforcement should be brought to a screeching halt.. the sooner the better, if YOU believe we as Americans, are above and better than this.

Here is a photo essay by Rob Hunt, a Ph.D. candidate at Prescott College. *The Banality of State Cruelty* Rob Hunt | Along the U.S.-Mexico Border | January 12, 2013 Field notes from 1/4/14 <https://www.blogger.com/null> I took pictures of what are simply human cages, for lack of a better term, along the Border between Sonora, Mexico and Arizona. They are blunt, mute and rusted metal mesh; they do not look anchored to the ground despite their standardized size: about ten feet by 12 feet by ten feet (approximations). Bars do not only top them; the upper rim is festooned in either barbed wire or concertina wire. As I drove and walked the length of the Border from Lochiel, Arizona to Douglas, Arizona, I encountered my first one at the San Pedro River. I did not see any more until I got within a couple of miles of Douglas/Agua Prieta, when I first saw one isolated. As I approached the crossing they became more numerous and their scattered dispositions made them look like carelessly placed backyard animal traps. All were just beyond the shadow of the wall sitting in a scraped-clear landscape next to the Border Patrols access road.
