Holocaust -- from the meaning wholly burnt. 1) a sacrifice wholly consumed by fire. 2) complete consumption by fire. Oxford English Dictionary. If the Jewish claim that they were the victims of a holocaust in Germany is true, then they were consumed entirely by fire. This Jewish claim is unacceptable because there were so many survivors. Not only were the Jews not consumed wholly by fire, as they claim, but, forty years after this non-event, there are more Jews claiming to be survivors of the Holocaust than there were Jews living at the time of the Holocaust. In one small American suburb, Skokie, Ill. are now residing many thousands of healthy Jews who claim to be "survivors" of the Holocaust. For more than thirty years, American voters have mutely accepted the fact that anyone seeking public office in the United States must make a routine pledge of undying allegiance to the State of Israel. Few of these voters realize that these office-seekers must also make a ritual obeisance to the Myth of the Holocaust and swear eternal belief in the doctrine that six million Jews were killed by the Germans during World War II. As was noted on the editorial page of the Washington Post, the regnant world journal of international Zionism, on October 29, 1981. "Anyone who refuses to support the State of Israel admits his sympathy for the murderers of six million Jews." Webster's dictionary defines treason as "the offense of betraying the state or subverting the government of the state to which the subverter belongs." Officeholders of the United States who are sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States and who then pledge allegiance to a foreign government and act in allegiance to that foreign government are guilty of high treason and are subject to the death penalty. The situation is more flagrant in the case of the State of Israel because, from its inception in 1948, the State of Israel has maintained a state of war against the citizens of the United States. If the objective of making war is to subdue another people and to seize their goods and enslave them, then Israel's activities towards the United States can only be described as engaging in constant warfare. Thus the Zionist collaborators all over the United States are giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States during a time of war. These acts of treason can only be punished by the death penalty. The Zionist collaborators have as their sole excuse that they are aiding the Jews because they were the victims of the Holocaust. Unfortunately, this excuse has now been demolished by the revelations that there were no gas chambers and that the Germans had no plan to "exterminate" the Jews. In 1952, I wrote in "Blood and Gold", "The claim that Hitler killed 6,000,000 Jews is belied by their own figures in the World Almanac. Immediately after Germany's surrender, a plane load of American editors and correspondents were flown to the concentration camps, where they were shown huge piles of bones. These were the remains of Russian prisoners of war, but they were filmed and shown all over the United States as 'Jewish bones'. Once again, we are inundated by the Jewish propaganda, as the ludicrous bone pictures, some of which have been established as having been taken during World War I, become our daily fare. The Public Broadcasting System, financed with taxpayers funds, recently showed a series of "holocaust" films, each more incredible than the last. In one, an elderly Jewess returns to Auschwitz, where she claims to have been incarcerated forty years age. "It voss a death camp?" she exclaims. She then stated that she remained there for four years, although the Germans "killed everybody every day." She was then asked how she has survived. "I hid in the camp," she explained, "but I had nothing to eat for three years." After this astounding statement, she pointed to the rows of peaceful barracks and shrieked, "But just look ! You can see for yourself it actually happened !" The bemused viewer, seeing only a pleasant rural scene, apparently was expected to conjure up visions of six million Jews being marched to the gas chambers. Nearly all of the Jewish "survivors" claim that they lived in the "death camps" from three to four years, while "everybody was being killed". It seems obvious that no one could survive in a "labor camp", which is what these camps actually were. Over the entrance to each camp was placed a sign, "Arbeit Machs du Frei," or, "Work Makes You Free". In the "Nation", Sept. 26, 1981, Albert Speer, the German Minister for Armaments, was quoted as having answered, in response to a demand from the leaders of the Jewish community in South Africa that he verify that Jews were killed during World War II by the Germans, so that they could prosecute the distributors of the pamphlet, "Did Six Million Really Die ?", "I couldn't." Although Speer refused to submit to pressure from the Jews that he lie and "confess" that the Jews had been killed, he did admit some sort of "collective guilt" in the matter, but denied that he had any direct knowledge of any Holocaust activities. His admission of "guilt" brought praise from the Jewish agitator, Simon Weisenthal, who then proceeded to endorse Speer's new book, "Infiltration". However, this book defined the camps as labor camps. On p. 9, Speer writes, "During factory inspections, I saw concentration camp prisoners working in our plants among German workers." Note that Speer does not even identify these laborers as Jews. On p. 41, he writes, "During my inspection (at Mauthausen, March, 1943,) I was surprised to see expensive granite retaining walls, on which barracks, likewise of native stone, had been erected. Everything was clean and orderly. The level, say, of an average anti aircraft barrack. The camp made an almost romantic impression with its stone portal and mediaeval castle yards, its pseudohistorical walls and towers." The German soldier in the field never enjoyed such pleasant quarters as did the labor camp workers. Otto Friedrich, a senior editor of Time Magazine, wrote an article in Atlantic Monthly, Sept. 1981, which he stated was based entirely on the writings of survivors of the camps, and which could hardly be accused of painting a rosy picture of their existence. In "The Kingdom of Auschwitz", Friedrich writes, "Auschwitz was a society of extraordinary complexity. It had its own soccer stadium, its own library, its own soccer stadium, its own library, its own photo lab, and its own symphony orchestra ... There was no reason that a death camp should have a hospital at all, yet the one at Auschwitz grew to considerable size, with about twenty doctors and more than three hundred nurses." Friedrich ignores the implications of his own writing, that a "death camp" with a large modern hospital is not a death camp at all, but a health camp. All of the camps had their own symphony orchestras, an amenity which was not provided by any of the twentytwo military stations at which this writer served in the United States Air Force throughout World War II. Friedrich also writes that Auschwitz had its own brothel for the workers. And a photo lab, in which the inmates could develop their snapshots of the millions of Jews being herded into the gas chambers ? No such photos have ever been exhibited. Later in his article, Friedrich writes that Auschwitz actually was developed throughout the war into a vast industrial complex, with a network of thirty-four outlaying camps, which provided workers for cement plants, coal mines, and a steel factory. I.G. Farben operated a huge synthetic rubber plant there. An intensely religious person, Adolf Hitler had written in Mein Kampf that "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord ... The fight against Jewish world Bolshevization requires a clear attitude towards Soviet Russia. You cannot drive out the Devil with Beelzebub." During the war, while fighting on two fronts, Hitler allowed himself to be swayed from these fervent sentiments by an extremely clever campaign on the part of the Jews. Having been warned that the Allies planned a campaign of terror bombing against German civilians, it was necessary that the Jews be evacuated from German cities. Through their close contacts with a number of Nazi bureaucrats, the leaders of the Jewish communities organized whereby the Jews would be evacuated in "the eastward migration". Even Speer approved the plan, but specified that "The

ablebodied Jews destined for eastward migration must therefore interrupt their journey and do armaments labor." The result was that the labor camps were established in rural areas, far from the cities, and the Jews were spared the ordeal of the terrible bombings which engulfed German women and children in torrents of flame and phosphorus bombs. There was a Holocaust in Germany during World War II, but the victims were Germans, in a well-planned campaign of genocide, while the evacuated Jews survived en masse. After the war, with their genius for perverting the truth, the Jews completely reversed the facts. Instead of the Holocaust engulfing German noncombatants in the cities, the victims were now the Jews, who had been "exterminated" in the "death camps". Since the evacuation of the Jews, the "eastward migration", had been organized at the behest of the Jewish leaders, many Jews now believed their own propaganda, and accused the Jewish leaders of having organized the "extermination" of European Jewry. Thus Hannah Arendt, a leading Jewish intellectual, writes bitterly, in "Eichmann in Jerusalem", "Wherever Jews lived, there were recognized Jewish leaders, and this leadership, almost without exception, cooperated in one way or another with the Nazis." Of course they cooperated, so successfully that while a million German women and children died in mass bombing raids on German cities, not a Jewish life was lost. The Allied bombing of Berlin killed so many German families that Eisenhower is remembered there today by the wry sobriquet, "the Mad Butcher of Berlin". The firestorms created by bombing the cities of Cologne, Hamburg, Dresden and other German cities remain the greatest atrocities of World War II. It was to obscure the real atrocities of World War II that the Myth of the Jewish Holocaust was invented. Its earliest application was intended to cover up the discovery that the Soviet Army had systematically murdered 14,000 Polish officers in the Katyn Forest. These Polish officers comprised the most highly educated and skilled segment of the Polish population. Stalin ordered them exterminated to facilitate Communist rule in Poland. It was the Katyn massacre which later became the inspiration for the stories of columns of Jews being marched into rural areas and executed. Indeed, the basic purpose of the invention of the Holocaust Myth was to prevent Soviet Russia from being embarrassed by any mention of the Katyn Forest massacre at the Nuremberg Trials. Roosevelt's pro-Communist regime battled valiantly to assist Russia in covering up the Katyn horror. Elmer Davis, who had been placed in the Office of War Information by James Paul Warburg, refused to mention this atrocity in his broadcasts, while W. Averell Harriman cooperated in keeping the story out of print until the Nuremberg Trials had been completed. "Jewish Comment", May 21, 1943, sneered at the German discovery of the massacre as follows; "After its sensational success with the story of the 10,000 Polish officers allegedly killed by the Soviets, the German Propaganda Ministry has evidently determined to explore further possibilities of splitting the Allies." Because of the many atrocities committed by the Jewish-directed Allies, not only the firestorm incineration of German civilians in many German cities, but the incineration of hundreds' of thousands of Japanese civilians in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Operation Keelhaul, the murder of one million anti-Communist Russians who were ordered handed over to the Soviet executioners by Eisenhower, and many other horrors, it was necessary to invent a German atrocity which would eclipse these horrors. The "extermination" of the Jews seemed made to order. Since there was no basis for any numerical figures, the earliest projections were that 12,000,000 Jews had been killed. Wiser heads among the Jews suggested that no figure higher than one million should be advanced, since a larger figure was likely to be discredited, thus invalidating the entire Holocaust claim. Some Jewish writers in New York began to publicize a figure of six million, and this soon gained such wide currency that the Jews had to settle for it, and it has remained the standard figure ever since. The self appointed "historian" of the Holocaust, Lucy S. Davidowicz, coyly presents a figure of 5,933,900 in her "Holocaust Reader". Certainly no one objects to rounding this off to the more practical figure of six million. Congressman George G. Sadowski, in opposing the Marshall Plan, stated, "That 10,000,000 Jews were killed, tortured, placed in slave labor camps ... that all means nothing." Congressional Record, Feb. 23, 1948. While protecting the Jews from the horrors of the Allied bombing raids, the Germans were forced by the exigencies of the war to leave the Jews largely to their own devices. As a result, the Jews, in the midst of war and universal devastation, thrived with their talents for black marketeering and scavenging. As Werner Sombart has written, "Wars are the Jews harvests." In "The War Against the Jews", Lucy Davodowicz writes of the Jewish profiteers, "This new class -- smugglers, underworld, nouveaux riches -- became the clientele for dozens of cafes, restaurants, and nightclubs that mushroomed in the ghetto. They passed their time dining, drinking, dancing." In the camps, the Jewish inmates assumed complete charge of their administration. They converted the camps into training schools in which they subjected their students to the most intensive methods of Jewish survival and victory. Every morsel of food, clothing, every sexual pleasure and other aspect of life, became the vehicle of the most vicious bartering and

maneuvering for advantage. Friedrich quotes one of them in "The Kingdom of Auschwitz". Concentration camp existence ... taught us that the whole world is really like a concentration camp. The world is ruled by neither justice nor morality; crime is not punished nor virtue rewarded. The world is ruled by power. We are laying the foundation for some new, monstrous civilization." In fact, the Jews used the camps as the opportunity to recreate the most intensive Talmudic training schools for themselves, a rigid education which they had lost since emerging from their mediaeval ghettoes. Now, raging in their genetic powerhouses which they recreated in the camps, they prepared themselves for the inevitable ending of the war, when they loosed themselves upon the wartorn nations of the earth like the most devastating plagues from Pandora's box. When they descended upon the helpless Christians, they immediately created a "new, monstrous civilization". As one Jew boasted, "When I left the concentration camp, I suddenly realized that I could take anybody." The graduates of this school for power quickly became wealthy and influential residents of many countries. One and all, they were fanatical Zionists; they were united in their contempt for the "goyim", the gentile cattle whom they proposed to enslave and manipulate. With the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, they quickly converted the government of the United States into a vassal of Tel Aviv, and used the wealth of the greatest country in the world to advance their goals in other nations. In every instance, they used the Myth of the Holocaust to advance their objectives. The goyim were inundated with stories and movies of "the extermination" of the Jews. Anne Roiphe wrote, in "Generation Without a Memory,", p. 62, "When gas became costly and ran short, they threw the infants and children directly into burning ovens." She fails to tell us what sort of fuel the Germans were using for their "burning ovens". The Jews continually wrote of the "modern technology" which had enabled the Germans to dispose of millions of Jews, and invariably, the sole illustration of this "technology" was a pair of small ovens which seemed a relic of the nineteenth century, and which could have disposed of only a few bodies a day. A crematorium requires a temperature of 2200 degrees Fahrenheit for the first ninety minutes, and then 1800 degrees for from sixty to one hundred fifty minutes, and even this does not burn bones. Lacking fuel supplies, the Germans could not even have provided the necessary fuel to embark on any program of burning victims. The Jews then introduced lurid stories of chemical experiments on the victims. In fact, the Washington Post recently carried a series of horror stories in which helpless victims were given chemical substances which caused then intense agony, vomiting and convulsions, loss of hair and many other excruciating symptoms. However, the victims were not Jews in Nazi concentration camps. They were patients at the National Institute of Health in Washington, where government doctors experimented on them with various chemicals for cancer treatments. Most of the victims died in agony, without the slightest amelioration of their cancers. In American prisons, chemical testing of various substances on prisoners has been going on for many years. While our government continues to appropriate millions of dollars for the pursuit of "Nazi war criminals", these chemical experiments in our prisons and hospitals go on without interruption. The "Nazi hunter", Simon Weisenthal, has become a cult figure in Washington, despite the revelations that throughout World War II he was a Gestapo agent. He has come under increasing criticism from many of his fellow Jews for his claim that he alone has kept the Holocaust Myth alive in recent years. Soon he may even claim that he invented the entire myth. Meanwhile, the American people, driven to the brink of bankruptcy by our support of the State of Israel, can find no prospect of relief. Now the United States faces the possibility of a lawsuit projected by a group of German citizens, for the sum of $400 billion. This claim is based on the more than 100 billion marks which West Germany has been forced to pay the State of Israel as "reparations" for "the extermination of six million Jews." Not only was the claim false, but it was extorted from the German people solely because of the continued military occupation of West Germany by the United States. The Germans point out that in all the prosecutions of former camp guards, they have only been charged with "beating and kicking" the Jewish inmates. None of them has been charged with actually "gassing" anyone. Kurt Becker, of the Press Information Office in Bonn, Germany, stated in Newsweek, June 8, 1981, that as of Dec. 31, 1980, West Germany had paid to the State of Israel 63 billion DM, or $30 billion, and was still committed to pay a further $9.5 billion. In addition, German firms have been forced to pay Israel many more billions as reparations to Jewish "laborers", and to furnish many billions of dollars worth of electrical systems, telephone systems, and other technological gifts to Israel. In contrast, after World War I, the Reparations Commission submitted to Germany a demand that $30 billion be paid, to be divided among all the nations which Germany had fought in that war. from West Germany more money than was asked by all the nations whom Germany fought in World War I. The East Democratic Republic of Germany has denied that Germany owes any reparations to the State of Israel, and has paid nothing, leaving the United States as the nation solely responsible for forcing West Germany to pay many billions to the State of Israel. The German government would never have paid this money without the force of the American occupying power, yet American taxpayers are told that we maintain a military presence in West Germany to oppose Russian aggression. The farcical nature of this explanation of our military collection agency is exposed when it is admitted that American forces in West Germany could only delay a Russian advance from two to four hours ! The payments which the American military has demanded that West Germany pay to Israel have contributed heavily to West Germany's economic problems, and are responsible for the growing anti-American feeling in Germany. Many Germans openly sneer at the "mongrel culture" of the United States and call us a "nation of mulattoes", due to the presence of many black troops occupying West Germany. Because of the nature of the dictatorship maintained by the force of the American military occupying army, in which no German is allowed to question the Myth of the Holocaust, the German patriots believe the only way to expose this conspiracy on behalf of Israel is to sue the United States for the return of all the "Holocaust" payments to Israel, with interest. This demand will soon be brought before the World Court. Meanwhile, Americans must decide what action to take to salvage their collapsing economy from the demands made on it by the insatiable Israeli power. Only the complete exposure of the Holocaust hoax will free our government officials from their commitments to ever increasing payments to the State of Israel.

Pot, and Darfur, you're saying a bunch of liars in those camps, it appears to me that the author of the article is the real liar and a serious distraction from any hope. When I said that the GIM members sure look at the symptoms a lot, and "that a focus on the root causes is required this time",... I did not mean ignorance of symptoms is prudent. So maybe more of this group or that group died, was it 6 million, millions or only 100 thousands of small children, 9 million Russia, some number bigger for the Germans, 20 million China,...? How many during the Inquisition, the Romans, the Aztecs, the Balkins? Let's play who has the most slaughtered in history. Hay many last week in Darfur? How many as we speak in North Korea or Burma or Iraq?

Darfur is for sure a zionist war. I am sure with some digging we could find out who was behind Rwanda and pol pot. pretty much any of the heavy duty, protracted wars are all of zionist origins. They have killed 100's of millions around the globe. The "boor War" is one of their's They have a long long history, and are quite good at what they do.

I only wish I had more time to better inform myself on this entire subject. What Mullins has painted certainly jibes with the increasing anti-God anti-Christian bias in the western world. Christ and God have just about been banned by the thought control elite. And our children have been denied a solid and full education in history and have no means to put any of this into context. Christian faith seems to be in decline - replaced by the miracles of modern science and technologic prosperity. It would seem that the non-Jews and true Jews (followers of the teachings of Moses) of the world are being lead to the slaughter like blissful lambs. The pull of the all-powerful atheistic/satanic police state seems irresistable.

Great post! I concur wholeheartedly, in fact I was just like you woodman. I had no idea about the holocaust revisionism that is sweeping the planet until the wave broke over my head too, forcing me to reappraise a lifetimes worth of dysfunctional documentaries that quite frankly scared the living daylights out of me as a kid! I remember being about three or four and hearing the old style garbage truck come down my street in the wee hours of the morning, feet pounding and lots of shouting and noise. As a child I automatically thought it was the Nazi's coming to get us.... With age though, I see those documentaries as cruel and destructive propoganda made to invoke guilt, helplessness, fear and anxiety. As a child I was unable to feel any guilt about this, however other impressions last on the young mind, particularly your own safety, and that, I realised was the main point. I felt abused by those documentaries, and cannot remember what I saw then (at age 3-4) or fathom why I came to those conclusions about my own security... This is the real result of those documentaries on our children; instill fear and panic about their own safety and security....almost like a Brothers Grim fairy tale that went horribly wrong.....:smokin:

I agree it is quite embarassing that new readers here at GIM have to see garbage like this because sadly it represents the forum badly and makes the entire operation look inept and second class. That said, you point out something very important. Obviously since they have nothing to stand on to support their wild eyed claims, they have to redefine words and make them appear to be something entirely different than what they really are. These people have an agenda and they will do whatever they have to do to push their agenda on unsuspecting others who are vulnerable and prone to being influenced by this type of garbage. They are predators and they should be recognized, exposed and identified as such. Fair enough: prove it. I am skeptical that the Nazi's systematically murdered 6 million Jews plus 6 million non-Jews in "death camps" using cyanide gas and incinerators (i.e. Holocaust). The Operation Reinhard Extermination Camps by Gord McFee The first thing that comes to many people's minds when they think of the Holocaust is the Auschwitz concentration camp where about 1 million people, mainly Jews, were gassed to death between 1941 and 1945. In some ways, Auschwitz has come to symbolize the Holocaust. On the other hand, the names Treblinka, Belzec and Sobibor are nowhere nearly as well known. Yet, it is estimated that 1.7 million Jews were gassed to death in those camps in just two years - 1942 and 1943.1 These are the Operation Reinhard death camps. Incidentally, there is some debate about whether "Reinhard" should be spelled "Reinhard" or "Reinhardt", which also leads to debate about whether the operation was named after Reinhard Heydrich or State Secretary of Finance Fritz Reinhardt. This has been put to rest by historians Peter Witte and Stephen Tyas. They explain, that Fritz Reinhardt's ministry only became involved in the operation after it had already received its name and that, as reported by Himmler himself, Heydrich had spelled his name both Reinhard and Reinhardt in the 1930s.2 Background The Operation Reinhard death camps were an integral part of the so-called "final solution of the Jewish question". Since the Nazis had taken power in 1933, they had gradually isolated the Jewish community in Germany and Austria, and deprived them of their rights as citizens, and their property3. Now four pivotal events occurred. First, with the outbreak of World War II, and the subsequent conquest of Poland, large parts of Scandinavia and much of the Soviet Union, there had been a tremendous number of Jews who fell under Nazi control. At the same time, Himmler had begun his project to depopulate large areas of Poland of Poles and Jews, and repopulate them with ethnic Germans. The Jews had to be moved somewhere.4 Second, the war had truly become a world war with the attack on Pearl Harbor and the subsequent declaration of war by Germany on the United States in December 1941. Hitler had threatened more than once that if the war became global, the Jews would pay the price. Although mass shootings had begun by the Einsatzgruppen in July 1941, it would appear that an ultimate decision to kill all the Jews was made by Hitler around this time. Third, the Einsatzgruppen shootings took a heavy toll on the executioners, who were repelled by the fact that they had to murder unarmed men, women and children, and complained about it. There were also concerns about the openness of the process and the risk of loss of secrecy. These complaints reached Himmler's ears, who decided that a more efficient, secure and "humane" way had to be found to kill Jews.5 In the strange world that was the SS, the Jews had to be murdered, but they were not to be mistreated while it was taking place. It must however be noted that "humane" referred more to the effect on the murderers than the victims who were being murdered. It was felt that a less "violent" method of killing the Jews would accomplish both purposes. Fourth, experiments with mobile gassing vans that had begun in late 1941, as well as their use in the so-called T4 "euthanasia" killings of the mentally insane, revealed that they could quite easily be adapted to kill Jews. The victims were loaded into the back of the van and driven to a burial spot. The van was rigged so that its engine exhaust was pumped back into the back of the van, effectively killing the passengers with carbon monoxide gas. As we shall see, variations on this method were used at all three Operation Reinhard camps.6 Organization of Operation Reinhard and establishment of the camps Following the Wannsee Conference (January 1942), which had as its purpose the coordination of the planned measures for the Final Solution with the central agencies responsible for its implementation, organizational work began. It should be noted that representatives of the Generalgouvernement7 attended the Wannsee Conference and it is in the Generalgouvernement that Operation Reinhard took place. Operation Reinhard derives its name from Obergruppenfhrer Reinhard Heydrich, Chief of the Reich Main Security Office and the man charged by Gring with the preparation of the administrative and organizational plans for the Final Solution. Globocnik drew on personnel who had been involved in the T4 euthanasia killings, as well as other SS staff, to carry out the detailed organization. Chief among these were Sturmbannfhrer [Major] Hermann Hfle8, who was in charge of administration and Sturmbannfhrer Christian Wirth, who was in charge of the construction of the camps and was later their inspector. That Hitler was well aware of this is demonstrated by the fact that Globocnik was received by Himmler at the Reich Chancellery in 1942, likely in October. Himmler never received subordinates at the Reich Chancellery, but rather at his own headquarters in the Prinz Albrechtstrasse. Himmler's notes for a discussion with Hitler on October 7, 1942, read: "Conditions Gen. Gouv. Globus" [Conditions Generalgouvernement Globus]. "Globus" was Globocnik's nickname. And it is around this time that Globocnik visited the Reich Chancellery. It is most likely that he briefed Himmler, who then went down the hall to brief Hitler.9 In this context, it is noteworthy that almost the entire personnel of the Operation Reinhard camps was drawn from the T4 organization.10 T4 had been established by personal order of Hitler in 1939 - the order was written on his personal letterhead in October and backdated to September 1 - and was the responsibility of Hauptamt II of the Fhrer Chancellery, headed by Viktor Brack. It is estimated that at least 120,000 people were gassed to death in this operation.11 Mail and other materials passed weekly from the T4 center in Berlin to Globocnik's headquarters in Lublin.12 This is no coincidence. The camps were built in late 1941 and early 1942 and went into operation in the spring. The three camps were: Belzec, located on the southeastern border of the Lublin district. Construction began in the late autumn of 1941 and mass exterminations began in the camp in March 1942. Its first commandant was Christian Wirth. Sobibor, located on the eastern border of the Lublin district. Construction began in March 1942 and mass exterminations began in May. Its first commandant was Obersturmfhrer [First Lieutenant] Franz Stangl. Treblinka, located northeast of Warsaw. Construction began in late May 1942 and mass exterminations began in late July. Its first commandant was Irmfried Eberl, who was removed after only a few weeks and replaced by Stangl. All of the camps were chosen because they were in sparsely populated areas, which made their concealment more easy, and for their proximity to railroad lines, which allowed the Nazis to transport Jews to them with a minimum of disruption. At the same time, they were well positioned to receive their victims. Belzec was ideally positioned to receive deportations from southwestern and southeastern Poland. Sobibor most accessible to deportations from central Poland. The northern part of Poland was most convenient for Treblinka, which lay less than 80 miles to the northeast of the large Jewish population of Warsaw.13 But concealment of the mass killing was not always entirely successful, as this Wehrmacht War Diary entry shows: "Supreme Command Ostrow informs that the Jews in Treblinka are not adequately buried and that, as a result, an unbearable body stench befouls the air."14 Operation of the Camps Deadly Efficiency The three camps were set up roughly at the same time in early 1942. As opposed to concentration camps, or hybrid camps such as Auschwitz, the Operation Reinhard camps were pure extermination camps. They existed for no other purpose than to kill Jews. There was no forced labour, and no work for inmates, other than that directly associated with the killing process, such as processing arrivals, removing corpses from the gas chambers, disposing of corpses and other such ghastly work. In this way, the Operation Reinhard camps are virtually unique in the Holocaust experience. As Erich Bauer, the so-called Gasmeister (gas master) of Sobibor put it: I estimate that the number of Jews gassed at Sobibor was about 350,000. In the canteen at Sobibor I once overheard Frenzel, Stangl and Wagner. They were discussing the number of victims in the extermination camps of Belzec, Treblinka and Sobibor and expressed their regret that Sobibor 'came last' in the competition.15 At the height of its activities in July 1942, Treblinka was receiving 5000 Jews a day.16 The

absolute efficiency of the camps as industries of death is demonstrated by the fact that, as opposed to other camps, there are very few survivors. For example, it is believed that of the people at Belzec for more than just a few hours, only one or two survived the war, while at least 600,000 were murdered.17 The Killing Process18 Although there were some differences between the three camps, the killing process was similar in all three. It was ruthlessly efficient and has been described as a conveyor belt by an SS doctor.19 Each person in the process had a precise role to play and in a particular sequence. The twin goal was to conceal the reality of what was happening from the Jews as long as possible and to kill them as quickly and effortlessly as possible. The two processes of concealment and "conveyor belt" took place simultaneously. For this to occur seamlessly, a several-stage exact process covered the time from arrival of a "transport" (as they were called) to the actual killing of the Jews. This process resulted in most Jews being killed within two hours of their arrival at the camp. In fact, the killing process really began before the Jews arrived. As soon as the camp was notified that a transport was about to arrive, the various participants were deployed to their positions. Since the three Operation Reinhard camps were too small to accommodate large trains, a few cars at a time would be backed up to a ramp in the camp and the occupants unloaded. The participants in the killing process included SS, Ukrainian auxiliaries, Jewish prisoners, and the victims. Only the SS and Ukrainians participated for the most part willingly. The unloading of the victims was the first stage in the process. Jews arriving at the Operation Reinhard camps had usually been sealed in cattle cars for several hours and deprived of food and drink. Many died during transit. Those who survived the trip were almost always in a greatly incapacitated condition - starving, hungry, sick. They were in no condition to resist their fate, even the very few who might have guessed it, but the SS left nothing to chance. As soon as the door of the trains opened, the arrivals were swarmed by SS and auxiliaries armed with submachine guns and whips. Attack dogs were also employed to instill fear. In Belzec, an orchestra played music as the arrivals disembarked. The show of overwhelming force, the music, and the incapacitated state of the victims combined to disorient and confuse them, and render them more likely to believe and do what they were told. Often at this point, an SS man spoke to them, saying that they had arrived at a transit camp, that they would soon be put to work, but that they first had to be deloused or disinfected. If they did exactly what they were told, they would soon have a bath and a hot meal, receive new clothes and then be assigned to work details. This camouflage, which only had to work for a few short minutes, was usually very effective. The second part of the process was the transfer of the Jews from the arrival ramp to the gas chambers. This involved determining which Jews would be gassed and which shot, separating them by gender, having them undress and herding them into the gas chamber. Determining which Jews were to be gassed was quite easy, and quickly done and did not involve a large-scale selection process, as was the case at Auschwitz. In the Operation Reinhard camps, virtually all of the arrivals were gassed shortly after arrival. The only exceptions were some who were too weakened, young, aged, or infirm to walk to the gas chamber; these individuals were taken off to another area, and shot. Their bodies were then dumped into pits and later burned. With the exception of a very few strong individuals who were selected for labor (usually they would serve as Sonderkommando), all the rest were destined for the gas chambers. They first were sent to separate barracks where they undressed. They were given the impression that they had to remember where their clothing was, or to mark it, since they would need it later. SS officers explained to them that they were being processed for work, either in Germany, in the east, or in one case, in a future Jewish state in the Ukraine.20 The women also had their hair shorn. Then they were forced to run through the Schlauch [tube], which connected the reception areas of the camps (unloading ramp, undressing hut, hair shearing hut, etc.) and the extermination section. The "tube" at Treblinka is described thus: Transport Square in the Lower Camp was connected to the extermination area by the "tube", or, as the Germans called it derisively, "the road to heaven" [Himmlelstrasse]. The "tube" was nearly 100 meters long and 4.5 to 5 meters wide. It began near the women's undressing barrack,

continued east and then south to the extermination area. It was fenced on both sides with barbed wire 2 meters high and intertwined with tree branches so that it was impossible to see in or out. The "tube" crossed a thin grove of trees, which continued eastward up to the camp fence. At the entrance to the "tube", near the women's undressing hut, a sign said: "To the Showers" [Zur Badenanstalt].21 The men were usually run through the tube first, since they represented the greatest security threat, should they figure out what was going on. At the end of the "tube" was the extermination area. It was composed of the gas chambers, burial pits or crematoria, and living quarters for the prisoners (Sonderkommando) who were forced to participate in the killings. These prisoners did not last very long - they were murdered on regular occasions and replaced. There were slight differences between the camps, but the general design was consistent throughout.22 Once the Jews had been run through the "tube", they came to the gas chambers. The gas chambers represented ordinary baths. Once here, the Jews were crammed into the gas chambers, and there was no longer any need for deception. Guards hit them with clubs and whips to force them the last few meters into the gas chamber. Once inside, the doors were sealed and the gas was introduced. Several descriptions of the gassing process survive and they all concord with the following observations by Wilhelm Pfannenstiel, a Waffen-SS hygienist, of a gassing at Belzec: [The Jews] ran naked from the hut through a hedge into the actual extermination centre. The whole extermination centre looked just like a normal delousing institution. In front of the building were pots of geraniums and a sign saying "Hackenholt23 Foundation", above which were a Star of David. The building was brightly and pleasantly painted so as not to suggest that people would be killed there. From what I saw, I do not believe that the people who had just arrived had any idea of what would happen to them. Inside the building, the Jews had to enter chambers into which was channelled the exhaust of a [100(?)]-HP engine, located in the same building. In it, there were six such extermination chambers. They were windowless, had electric lights and two doors. One door led outside so that the bodies could be removed. [...] Once the engine was running, the light in the chambers was switched off. This was followed by palpable disquiet in the chamber. In my view it was only then that the people sensed something else was in store for them. [...] After about twelve minutes, it became silent in the chambers.24 It became silent because the Jews were all dead. Despoilment of the Dead Equally important as the killing of the Jews was the disposal of their bodies, since no trace could be left of them. At the same time, the Jews, even in death, were the object of a gruesome despoilment by their killers. The plunder included not only their valuables, but even their bodies. Once the Jews were dead, the gas chambers were opened and ventilated and the bodies removed through the back doors by Jews who were forced to assist in the operations. They were variously called Sonderkommando [Special Commandos] or Arbeitsjuden [Work Jews]. Their job was to drag the bodies to the burial areas and there to bury them in large pits that were nearby. Before they were thrown in the pits, the bodies were searched for any hidden valuables, including the genital cavities. Dentists examined the mouths of the victims, looking for gold or silver teeth that were extracted with pliers. The horror of this is evidenced in the recollections of Jankiel Wiernik, one of the less than one hundred survivors of Treblinka: I was put with a group that was assigned to handle the corpses. The work was very hard, because we had to drag each corpse, in teams of two, for a distance of approximately three hundred meters [328 yards]. Sometimes we tied ropes around the dead bodies to pull them to their graves. Suddenly, I saw a live woman in the distance. She was entirely nude; she was young and beautiful, but there was demented look in her eyes. She was saying something to us, but we could not understand what she was saying and could not help her. She had wrapped herself in a bed sheet under which she was hiding a little child, and she was frantically looking for shelter. Just then one of the Germans saw her, ordered her to get into a ditch and shot her and the child. It was the first shooting I had ever seen.

[...] We had to carry or drag the corpses on the run, since the slightest infraction of the rules meant a severe beating. The corpses had been lying around for some time and decomposition had already set in, making the air foul with the stench of decay.25 Sorting squads sorted and stacked the clothing that had been left behind. The hair that had been shorn from the victims was returned to Germany to make blankets for the Wehrmacht. So-called Goldjuden [Gold Jews] were responsible for sorting and packing valuables and foreign currency for remission to the Reichsbank.26 Clothing was disinfected and sent to Germany for reuse. Watches were often sent to the Wehrmacht for distribution to soldiers. Much jewelry and other precious materials were plundered. The Jews however had been disposed of. Concealment of the Dead The Jews were buried in large pits in the general location of the gas chambers, that is, in the extermination area of the camps. For a time, this sufficed. But eventually, the sheer volume of corpses, and the decaying process began to cause difficulties. First, there were so many bodies that the killers ran out of room. Bodies were stacked on top of each other, and covered with layers of lime or dirt. Eventually, the pits filled up, at which point they were covered with a final layer of dirt and another pit started. As the number of dead reached massive proportions, the available space was used up. The natural human decomposition process, in combination with the hot weather, caused the decaying bodies to swell up with gases, and expand, thus increasing their volume to the point where they began to cause the tops of the pits to move. They also emitted a terrible odor. At around the same time, the Nazis decided to obliterate the remains of the over one million people shot by the Einsatzgruppen. This task was entrusted to Standartenfhrer Paul Blobel, who had been commandant of an Einsatzkommando and now was assigned the task of disposing of the corpses of the dead - the so-called Enterdungsaktion. The code name for this was "Aktion 1005" and it involved the exhumation and burning of bodies in the Soviet Union and Poland.27 Blobel also supervised the burning of bodies at Belzec, Treblinka and Sobibor. The pits were doused with inflammable materials and the bodies burned down to the bottom of the pit. According to Blobel's affidavit, this sometimes took up to three days for each pit. In addition, at Treblinka at least, machines were used to crush the bones of the bodies so that no trace would be left. But it did not always work. Sixteen years later, in 1959, historian Martin Gilbert had the following experience on a visit to Treblinka: I stepped down from the cart on to the sandy soil; a soil that was gray rather than brown. Driven by I know not what impulse, I ran my hand through that soil, again and again. The earth beneath my feet was coarse and sharp: filled with fragments of human bone.28 In addition, excavations at all three extermination camps have found evidence of mass murder.29 Destruction of the Camps30 The three camps only operated for two years, from early 1942 until late 1943. They were taken down because, to put it simply, they had completed their work. The Jews of Poland had largely been annihilated, and the few that were left could now be dispatched to Auschwitz, which had the capacity to absorb them. Belzec was the first camp to be dismantled. The last gassings had taken place in December 1942, but it took until March 1943 to complete the cremation of the exhumed bodies. The camp was emptied and the last Jews transferred from there to Sobibor in July 1943. The gas chambers and all the other buildings were demolished. Trees were planted and a farm was built over the camp for a Ukrainian guard, who received a salary to maintain the place and live there with his family. One of the reasons a guard was required was to prevent the villagers of the surrounding towns from digging up the ground, in a macabre search for jewelry and valuables. Many of the personnel from Belzec were transferred to Sobibor and Treblinka. The second camp to disappear was Treblinka. Gassing operations ceased on August 19, 1943. In September 1943, Globocnik was promoted to Hherer SS- und Polizeifhrer [Higher SS and Police

Leader] for Trieste in Italy and left with several of his men (Stangl and Wirth among others). Stangl was succeeded as commandant at Treblinka by Kurt Franz, who was given the job to dismantle and destroy the camp. This he did, assisted unwillingly by thirty Jewish prisoners. At the end of November, Franz and his men were transferred to Sobibor, after killing the remaining Jewish prisoners. Once again, a farm was built on the remains of the camp and once again, it was manned by a Ukrainian guard and his family. Sobibor was the last camp to be abandoned. There had been an uprising there in October 1943, after which most of the Jews who escaped, and the ones who did not, were shot. The thirty Jews mentioned above were brought to Sobibor and forced to carry out the dismantling activities. Once again, a farm was built over the remains of the camp. The few remaining Jews were murdered, and the SS personnel left the camp in December. The Operation Reinhard death camps had finished their murderous work. The Final Death Toll Although they operated for less than two years - from around March 1942 to December 1943 - the Operation Reinhard camps resulted in the death of as many as 1.7 million Jews. Exact numbers are difficult to determine, since the Germans destroyed all the records in an attempt to cover their tracks. Hilberg estimates the death toll at 1.5 million (Belzec: 550,000, Treblinka: 750,000 and Sobibor: 200,000)31, while Arad places it at 1.7 million (Belzec: 600-700,000, Treblinka: 763,000, Sobibor: 250,000).32 Martin Gilbert estimates the total at 1.69 million (Belzec: 600,000; Treblinka: 840,000; Sobibor: 250,000).33 Determination of a precise figure is complicated by the fact that almost all of the Operation Reinhard records were destroyed, so that researchers are obliged to use other sources and methods to estimate the numbers. For example, in the case of Belzec, Arad based his estimate on surviving German railroad records, ghetto censuses, and Judenrat records. He is able to detail deportations to Belzec that total about 519,392.34 Based on the known incompleteness of the records, he estimates the overall Belzec death toll to be at least 600,000. On the other hand, an Allied intercept of a telegram from Hermann Hfle to SS-Obersturmbannfhrer Heim, deputy commander of the Security Police and SD for the General Government in Cracow, contains a figure of 434,508 for Belzec as of December 31, 1942.35 This apparent contradiction may be explained by the fact that we are not sure as of what date Hfle's records began to be kept, or it could be that the Hfle records are more accurate, but the point is that it underscores the difficulty in capturing the exact numbers and the extent to which the Nazis succeeded in destroying their records. Be that as it may, there is no doubt that, along with Auschwitz and the Einsatzgruppen, the Operation Reinhard camps had effectively annihilated Polish Jewry. Overall, it is estimated that up to 3,000,000 of Poland's Jews, or 90%, perished in one way or another during the Final Solution.36 Polish Jewry has never recovered. Only about 10,000 Jews, most of them elderly, remained in Poland in 1991.37 The Plunder Having murdered the Jews, the Nazis saw no reason why they should not confiscate their valuables, and assign them to their own uses. An order dated September 26, 1942 from the SS Economic and Administration Head Office to Operation Reinhard headquarters in Lublin laid down precise guidelines. It detailed exactly to which agency any confiscated goods were to be sent. The list was exhaustive. It included amongst others things: all German money, all foreign money, rare metals, diamonds, precious stones, pearls, gold teeth, pieces of gold, watches, fountain pens, lead pencils, shaving utensils, pen knives, scissors, pocket flashlights, purses, men's clothing and underwear, women's clothing and underwear, feather bedding, blankets, umbrellas, baby carriages, handbags - the list is almost endless.38 It is noteworthy that it covers virtually every aspect of a person's existence. As described above, this necessitated the employment of teams of Jews, the so-called Arbeitsjuden or Work Jews, who were spared immediate execution by working in one of the many details that processed this material. This was the only "work" done in the Operation Reinhard camps, as opposed to camps such as Auschwitz. It is estimated that over one thousand railway cars of confiscated belongings left Treblinka alone.39 The overall estimate of the plunder of the Operation Reinhard camps defies

comprehension. Various documents that survive include figures such as 270,000 kilograms (594,000 pounds or 297 tons) of bed feathers, 3,000 kilograms (6,600 pounds or 3 tons) of women's hair, and 262,000 complete men's and women's outfits. It is estimated that the total haul in currency and precious metals approaches RM 178,745,960.59 [Reichsmarks], or $71,200,000 at the existing rate of exchange.40 That works out to about $740,180,960 in 2002 dollars.41 It should be remembered that these totals do not include the materials stolen from the Jews by the SS at the camps. An attempt to sum up One reads the story and attempts to contemplate the baseness to which humanity can sink. One hopes that trying to understand this better will induce us to strive not to do so again. Thus, we begin to understand why the story must be told and why the Holocaust History Project has as its mission the preservation of the truth and the rebuttal of those who would deny it. Deborah Lipstadt speaks of this in her witness statement in the lawsuit brought against her by David Irving: The deniers are not engaged in a physical destruction. They are engaged in an attempt to pervert the world's memory of how a state almost succeeded in destroying an entire people, along with many others. Currently they are trying to taint the worlds memory of those who were entrapped in this horror. If they succeed at that they will then seek to eradicate any memory of them. This is a "double dying." One hopes to prevent that second dying. It is too late to do anything about the first.42 The Operation Reinhard camps stand out from the other camps where Jews were exterminated in two main ways. First, their only purpose was to kill Jews. They contributed nothing else to the German war effort unless it happened to be a byproduct of the killing. The money, the jewels, the clothing: none of these was the reason for the existence of the camps. They were merely a collateral advantage gained from them. Killing was the only reason for the camps, and as soon as there was no one left to kill, the camps were dismantled. Second, they were lethal in their efficiency. Unlike some of the other camps, there were very few survivors of the Operation Reinhard camps. One person survived Belzec. Only around one hundred survived Treblinka. Yet, these two camps killed between them about 1,350,000 Jews. This translates into a killing "efficiency rate" of 99.99%. Words seem inadequate to sum up the enormity of this. Lucy Dawidowicz, who includes Auschwitz among the extermination camps, calls them the "kingdom of death."43 Martin Gilbert, who points out that 400,000 Jews were exterminated in August 1942 alone, entitles one of his chapters that dealt with Treblinka: "The most horrible of all horrors".44 And as awful as those words are, they do not completely capture the totality of the deed. Numbers suffer the same fate. After a time, the mind numbs itself against the next onslaught of statistics. It almost seems trivial - disrespectful even - to argue whether 1.5 million, or 1.69 million, or 1.7 million Jews were exterminated in the three camps. Perhaps the one most palpable statistic is the report cited above that mentions that the Nazis "collected" 3 tons of women's hair in the three camps. Attempts at comparative analysis also fail. How a person was killed does not alter the fact that the person was killed. And it must be remembered that the victims here were ordinary men, women and children who were killed because, and only because, they were Jews. Descriptions of different methodologies of death cannot capture this awful fact. Perhaps the insensitivity of the Nazis to what they were doing, as is shown over and over again in their postwar testimonies and interrogations, comes closest to representing the evil that happened. As historian Konrad Kwiet puts it: Almost all the perpetrators distinguished themselves in the event through their ability, after having committed murder, to revert to the routine of everyday life and live a "normal" life. Most of them reacted with surprise, bewilderment and irritation when they were investigated and reminded of the past in the course of the criminal prosecution of the Nazis. Ignorance and

innocence were stressed at the trials. The murderers remained - with some exceptions - spared the traumatic experiences that was their legacy to the surviving victims.45 In the end, perhaps the best service one can render to those who perished and those who survived, many scarred for life, is to ensure that the facts continue to be published, so that the truth may be preserved.

There is one survey of the Jewish question in Europe during World War Two and the conditions of Germany's concentration camps which is almost unique in its honesty and objectivity, the three-volume Report of the International Committee of the Red Cross on its Activities during the Second World War, Geneva, 1948. This comprehensive account from an entirely neutral source incorporated and expanded the findings of two previous works: Documents sur l'activit du CICR en faveur des civils dtenus dans les camps de concentration en Allemagne 1939-1945 (Geneva, 1946), and Inter Arma Caritas: the Work of the ICRC during the Second World War (Geneva, 1947). The team of authors, headed by Frdric Siordet, explained in the opening pages of the Report that their object, in the tradition of the Red Cross, had been strict political neutrality, and herein lies its great value. The ICRC successfully applied the 1929 Geneva military convention in order to gain access to civilian internees held in Central and Western Europe by the Germany authorities. By contrast, the ICRC was unable to gain any access to the Soviet Union, which had failed to ratify the Convention. The millions of civilian and military internees held in the USSR, whose conditions were known to be by far the worst, were completely cut off from any international contact or supervision. The Red Cross Report is of value in that it first clarifies the legitimate circumstances under which Jews were detained in concentration camps, i.e. as enemy aliens. In describing the two categories of civilian internees, the Report distinguishes the second type as "Civilians deported on administrative grounds (in German, "Schutzhftlinge"), who were arrested for political or racial motives because their presence was considered a danger to the State or the occupation forces" (Vol. 111, p. 73). These persons, it continues, "were placed on the same footing as persons arrested or imprisoned under common law for security reasons." (P.74). The Report admits that the Germans were at first reluctant to permit supervision by the Red Cross of people detained on grounds relating to security, but by the latter part of 1942, the ICRC obtained important concessions from Germany. They were permitted to distribute food parcels to major concentration camps in Germany from August 1942, and "from February 1943 onwards this concession was extended to all other camps and prisons" (Vol. 111, p. 78). The ICRC soon established contact with camp commandants and launched a food relief programme which continued to function until the last months of 1945, letters of thanks for which came pouring in from Jewish internees. Red Cross Recipients Were Jews The Report states that "As many as 9,000 parcels were packed daily. From the autumn of 1943 until May 1945, about 1,112,000 parcels with a total weight of 4,500 tons were sent off to the concentration camps" (Vol. III, p. 80). In addition to food, these contained clothing and

pharmaceutical supplies. "Parcels were sent to Dachau, Buchenwald, Sangerhausen, Sachsenhausen, Oranienburg, Flossenburg, Landsberg-am-Lech, Flha, Ravensbrck, Hamburg-Neuengamme, Mauthausen, Theresienstadt, Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, to camps near Vienna and in Central and Southern Germany. The principal recipients were Belgians, Dutch, French, Greeks, Italians, Norwegians, Poles and stateless Jews" (Vol. III, p. 83). In the course of the war, "The Committee was in a position to transfer and distribute in the form of relief supplies over twenty million Swiss francs collected by Jewish welfare organisations throughout the world, in particular by the American Joint Distribution Committee of New York" (Vol. I, p. 644). This latter organisation was permitted by the German Government to maintain offices in Berlin until the American entry into the war. The ICRC complained that obstruction of their vast relief operation for Jewish internees came not from the Germans but from the tight Allied blockade of Europe. Most of their purchases of relief food were made in Rumania, Hungary and Slovakia. The ICRC had special praise for the liberal conditions which prevailed at Theresienstadt up to the time of their last visits there in April 1945. This camp, "where there were about 40,000 Jews deported from various countries was a relatively privileged ghetto" (Vol. III, p. 75). According to the Report, "'The Committee's delegates were able to visit the camp at Theresienstadt (Terezin) which was used exclusively for Jews and was governed by special conditions. From information gathered by the Committee, this camp had been started as an experiment by certain leaders of the Reich ... These men wished to give the Jews the means of setting up a communal life in a town under their own administration and possessing almost complete autonomy. . . two delegates were able to visit the camp on April 6th, 1945. They confirmed the favourable impression gained on the first visit" (Vol. I, p . 642). The ICRC also had praise for the regime of Ion Antonescu of Fascist Rumania where the Committee was able to extend special relief to 183,000 Rumanian Jews until the time of the Soviet occupation. The aid then ceased, and the ICRC complained bitterly that it never succeeded "in sending anything whatsoever to Russia" (Vol. II, p. 62). The same situation applied to many of the German camps after their "liberation" by the Russians. The ICRC received a voluminous flow of mail from Auschwitz until the period of the Soviet occupation, when many of the internees were evacuated westward. But the efforts of the Red Cross to send relief to internees remaining at Auschwitz under Soviet control were futile. However, food parcels continued to be sent to former Auschwitz inmates transferred west to such camps as Buchenwald and Oranienburg. No Evidence Of Genocide One of the most important aspects of the Red Cross Report is that it clarifies the true cause of those deaths that undoubtedly occurred in the camps toward the end of the war. Says the Report: "In the chaotic condition of Germany after the invasion during the final months of the war, the camps received no food supplies at all and starvation claimed an increasing number of victims. Itself alarmed by this situation, the German Government at last informed the ICRC on February 1st, 1945 ... In March 1945, discussions between the President of the ICRC and General of the S.S. Kaltenbrunner gave even more decisive results. Relief could henceforth be distributed by the ICRC, and one delegate was authorised to stay in each camp ..." (Vol. III, p. 83). Clearly, the German authorities were at pains to relieve the dire situation as far as they were able. The Red Cross are quite explicit in stating that food supplies ceased at this time due to the Allied bombing of German transportation, and in the interests of interned Jews they had protested on March 15th, 1944 against "the barbarous aerial warfare of the Allies" (Inter Arma Caritas, p. 78). By October 2nd, 1944, the ICRC warned the German Foreign Office of the impending collapse of the German transportation system, declaring that starvation conditions for people throughout Germany were becoming inevitable. In dealing with this comprehensive, three-volume Report, it is important to stress that the delegates of the International Red Cross found no evidence whatever at the camps in Axis occupied Europe of a deliberate policy to exterminate the Jews. In all its 1,600 pages the Report does not even mention such a thing as a gas chamber. It admits that Jews, like many other wartime nationalities, suffered rigours and privations, but its complete silence on the subject of planned extermination is ample refutation of the Six Million legend. Like the Vatican representatives with whom they worked, the Red Cross found itself unable to indulge in the irresponsible charges of genocide which had become the order of the day. So far as the genuine mortality rate is concerned, the Report points out that most of the Jewish doctors from the camps

were being used to combat typhus on the eastern front, so that they were unavailable when the typhus epidemics of 1945 broke out in the camps (Vol. I, p. 204 ff) - Incidentally, it is frequently claimed that mass executions were carried out in gas chambers cunningly disguised as shower facilities. Again the Report makes nonsense of this allegation. "Not only the washing places, but installations for baths, showers and laundry were inspected by the delegates. They had often to take action to have fixtures made less primitive, and to get them repaired or enlarged" (Vol. III, p. 594). Not All Were Interned Volume III of the Red Cross Report, Chapter 3 (I. Jewish Civilian Population) deals with the "aid given to the Jewish section of the free population," and this chapter makes it quite plain that by no means all of the European Jews were placed in internment camps, but remained, subject to certain restrictions, as part of the free civilian population. This conflicts directly with the "thoroughness" of the supposed "extermination programme", and with the claim in the forged Hss memoirs that Eichmann was obsessed with seizing "every single Jew he could lay his hands on." In Slovakia, for example, where Eichmann's assistant Dieter Wisliceny was in charge, the Report states that "A large proportion of the Jewish minority had permission to stay in the country, and at certain periods Slovakia was looked upon as a comparative haven of refuge for Jews, especially for those coming from Poland. Those who remained in Slovakia seem to have been in comparative safety until the end of August 1944, when a rising against the German forces took place. While it is true that the law of May 15th, 1942 had brought about the internment of several thousand Jews, these people were held in camps where the conditions of food and lodging were tolerable, and where the internees were allowed to do paid work on terms almost equal to those of the free labour market" (Vol. I, p. 646). Not only did large numbers of the three million or so European Jews avoid internment altogether, but the emigration of Jews continued throughout the war, generally by way of Hungary, Rumania and Turkey. Ironically, post-war Jewish emigration from German-occupied territories was also facilitated by the Reich, as in the case of the Polish Jews who had escaped to France before its occupation. "The Jews from Poland who, whilst in France, had obtained entrance permits to the United States were held to be American citizens by the German occupying authorities, who further agreed to recognize the validity of about three thousand passports issued to Jews by the consulates of South American countries" (Vol. I, p. 645). As future U.S. citizens, these Jews were held at the Vittel camp in southern France for American aliens. The emigration of European Jews from Hungary in particular proceeded during the war unhindered by the German authorities. "Until March 1944," says the. Red Cross Report, "Jews who had the privilege of visas for Palestine were free to leave Hungary" (Vol. I, p. 648). Even after the replacement of the Horthy Government in 1944 (following its attempted armistice with the Soviet Union) with a government more dependent on German authority, the emigration of Jews continued. The Committee secured the pledges of both Britain and the United States "to give support by every means to the emigration of Jews from Hungary," and from the U.S. Government the ICRC received a message stating that "The Government of the United States ... now specifically repeats its assurance that arrangements will be made by it for the care of all Jews who in the present circumstances are allowed to leave" (Vol. I, p . 649). Biedermann agreed that in the nineteen instances that "Did Six Million Really Die?" quoted from the Report of the International Committee of the Red Cross on its Activities during the Second World War and Inter Arma Caritas (this includes the above material), it did so accurately. Preliminary note: This essay is dedicated to Holocaust revisionist scholar Dr. Robert Faurisson. He was the first to point out the chemical and toxicological impossibility of these Auschwitz gas chamber stories. Section one In early 2005, Holocaust historian Deborah Lipstadt published her widely admired History on Trial: My Day in Court with David Irving.1 The book is her version of events surrounding the high-profile, 2000 libel trial in which British historian David Irving sued Lipstadt for labeling him a "Holocaust denier." During the duration of the trial, the media spotlight fell upon the ongoing battle between revisionist and traditional views of the Jewish tragedy during W.W.II. In her publication, she put forth in laymen's terms that everyone could understand, straightforward reasons as to why one should reject Holocaust revisionist theories and accept the existence of the homicidal Auschwitz gas chambers. In Part I of this two part series, we rebutted a portion of Lipstadt's critique of Fred Leuchter, the American gas chamber expert who carried out the first ever forensic study of the alleged Auschwitz gas chambers. We saw that, although Leuchter's pioneering report had its shortcomings, its findings were essen tially corroborated by the more thorough and exacting scientific study of the former Max Planck Institute chemistry doctoral candidate, Germar Rudolf. Both reports found only minuscule traces of hydrogen cyanide gas (HCN) residue in samples taken from the walls and floors of the alleged homicidal Auschwitz gas chambers. Yet, very large amounts of HCN residue were found in samples taken from the non-homicidal disinfestation chambers, where HCN was used only to delouse mattresses, clothing and other belongings. If the structures in question were actually used as homicidal gas chambers, one would expect to find a considerable HCN residue buildup, somewhat comparable to that found in the non-homicidal disinfestation chambers. In both reports the conclusions are the same. The alleged homicidal gas chambers never existed. Here in Part II, we will examine the technique and operation of the alleged Auschwitz gas chambers as put forth by Professor Lipstadt and one of her main expert witnesses, Dr. Robert Jan van Pelt, and then ask the questions: "Is this scientifically possible?Did the gas chambers ever exist?" Section II In her attempt to prove that the Auschwitz gas chambers existed, Lipstadt critiques the report of Holocaust revisionist and gas chamber expert Leuchter. "Had Irving done some research," she writes, "he might have discovered Leuchter's mistaken assumption that it took 3,200 parts of HCN per million to kill humans, when in fact it took far less. On the basis of this wrong calculation, Leuchter had contended that the residue from such a large amount of gas [would have necessitated that] the Sonderkommandos-the inmates who removed the bodies-would have had to wait twenty-four hours before entering the chambers."2 In order to give the reader the appropriate perspective, let us recreate Lipstadt's scenario. One of France's most influential and reputable magazines, L'Express, now acknowledges that "everything is false" about the Auschwitz "gas chamber" that for decades has been shown to tens of thousands of tourists yearly. "Auschwitz: The Memory of Evil," a lengthy article by journalist and historian Eric Conan, a dedicated anti-revisionist, appears in the January 19-25, 1995, issue, pages 54-73 (and in the Jan. 26 international edition). L'Express is a liberal large-circulation weekly news magazine, similar in format to Time or Newsweek. L'Express also reports that, after a five-year battle among the "experts," Polish president Lech Walesa has decided that the new, revised number of dead to be inscribed on the Birkenau monument will be 1,500,000. (For years the monument proclaimed 4,000,000 Auschwitz deaths.) Generally speaking, writes Conan, there have been many obvious falsifications in the Auschwitz and Birkenau camp sites. Stefan Wilkanowicz, vice-president of the International Committee of the Polish government's Auschwitz State Museum (and director of an influential Polish Catholic periodical), says: The biggest blunders have been rectified but the principal discussions are never-ending and far from being settled. I can even say that essential debates, distressing, sometimes unexpected, are only beginning. About the famous "gas chamber" in the Auschwitz I camp, Conan writes: In 1948, when the Museum was created, Crematory I was reconstructed in a supposed original state. Everything in it is false [Tout y est faux]: the dimensions of the gas chamber, the locations of the doors, the openings for pouring in Zyklon B, the ovens (rebuilt according to the recollections of some survivors), the height of the chimney. At the end of the 70s, Robert Faurisson exploited those falsifications all the better because at that time the Museum officials balked at admitting them. An American revisionist [David Cole] has just shot a video in the gas chamber (still presented as authentic): one may see him questioning the visitors with his "revelations" [Emphasis added.] In spite of this, Conan goes on to report, there are no plans to alter anything there. With regard to the famous "gas chamber," a staff member of the Museum directors' office, Krystyna Oleksy, says: "For the time being we are going to leave it in the present state, and not give any specifics to the visitors. It is too complicated. We'll see later on." Victory for Revisionism This feature article in a leading French magazine is a great victory for Holocaust revisionism. On a key point, L'Express now acknowledges, the revisionists have been right all along. In fact, the magazine concedes a point that revisionists have been legally penalized for making. Dr. Robert Faurisson, Europe's foremost revisionist scholar, was heavily fined after repeating it on numerous occasions during his "thought crime" trials in France. (Will the French government now prosecute L'Express magazine and journalist Conan for their revisionist Holocaust views?)

In May 1992 a German court fined David Irving 10,000 marks (about $6,000) for publicly saying what L'Express now openly admits. (See: "Irving Fined $6,000 in German 'Gas Chamber' Trial," IHR Newsletter, July-Aug. 1992, pp. 3-4.) The court punished the British historian because he had told a Munich meeting in April 1990 that the structure in Auschwitz that has been portrayed for decades to tourists as an extermination gas chamber is a phony reconstruction ( "Attrappe"), just like the one at Dachau. Irving was found guilty of thus "disparaging the memory of the dead," a crime in Germany that effectively applies only to Jewish victims. In the case the Judge refused to consider any of the evidence presented by Irving's attorneys, including a plea to permit Dr. Franciszek Piper, Senior Curator and archives director of the Auschwitz State Musueum, to testify in the case. Faurisson's Comment Dr. Faurisson comments on Conan's article: Clearly, the Auschwitz propagandists are at a loss. Oleksy's statement is an important vindication of the revisionist position. Every visitor of the Auschwitz "gas chamber" should confront the guides (or, if possible, Museum officials) with these sentences by Oleksy. During a September 1992 interview with American revisionist David Cole, Auschwitz Museum Curator Piper said, "so now this gas chamber [at Auschwitz I] is very similar to this one which existed in 1941-1942." As Conan knows, already in 1976 I demonstrated the falsehood of this entire story by questioning Museum official Jan Machalek, and by finding in the Auschwitz Museum files original plans clearly showing that, in fact, the alleged "gas chamber" was, between October 7, 1941, and August 31, 1943, a room with a single entrance where dead bodies awaiting cremation were stored. If Museum officials now wish to rebuild the room as it was during the war, they will have to fill in the south-east doorway. After doing so, though, they would no longer be able to explain how the alleged victims entered the "gas chamber" for gassing. I do not think the officials would dare contend that the victims entered by way of the door of the ovens room. For details on these points, see what I published in Serge Thion's 1980 book Vrit historique ou vrit politique? La question des chambres gaz, pp. 316-317. I have also repeatedly mentioned the story of that "reconstructed" gas chamber in The Journal of Historical Review (see, for instance, Winter 1981 issue, p. 335), as well as during the 1985 and 1988 Zndel trials in Toronto (see, for instance, 1985 Trial, Transcript, pp. 2364-2366). Even as early as 1968, Olga Wormser-Migot wrote in her book Le Systme concentrationnaire nazi (p. 157) that the Auschwitz I camp was "without a gas chamber." In 1985, Raul Hilberg stated under oath during the first Zndel trial in Toronto (Transcript, p. 774), and Pierre Vidal-Naquet wrote in L'Allemagne nazie et le gnocide juif (pp. 510, 516, n. 94), what Franciszek Piper said to Cole in 1992. Jean-Claude Pressac told the same story in his 1989 book, Auschwitz: Technique and Operation of the Gas Chambers (pp. 108, 123, 133). In his L'Express article, Conan mentions Jean-Claude Pressac's 1993 book, Les Crmatoires d'Auschwitz. Among the fantastic number of "dossiers" and articles recently published in French newspapers and magazines in connection with the 50th anniversary of the camp's liberation, this article may perhaps be the only one to mention that book. Pressac's ambivalence has become an embarrassment for the "exterminationists." For instance, his estimate in Les Crmatoires d'Auschwitz (1993) of total Auschwitz deaths was 775,000 (rounded up to 800,000), and in the 1994 German edition he further reduced this to between 630,000 and 710,000 (of whom, he asserts, 470,000 to 550,000 were "gassed" Jews). http://www.ihr.org/jhr/v15/v15n1p23_Weber.html

This is leading you to believe in things that simply are not true. In some cases physically impossible to have happened (i.e. the number of inmates killed in the amount of time available). I would respectfully suggest that you open your mind to objective analysis of this subject.
