This course allowed me the opportunity to understand the differences between digital natives and digital immigrants. The difference between todays learner and myself, the need to address these differences through changed pedagogy and the integration of technology in teaching and learning. The need to create a studentcentered approach as opposed to a teachercentered approach. The ideas for the need to innovation and creativity were introduced. Current and future trends in education were also examined to develop a sense of whats happening and what likely to happen in the near future on the educational horizon. New Horizon Report. The need for changes in educational leadership and philosophy were addressed in order for changes at the instructional and learning levels to occur.

This course was relevant to my educational context because it helped to confirm and make me more aware of the differences between my generation and 21st century learners. I realize that many of the knowledge Ive learned and the way I learned it is not completely applicable today. This in turn due to the technology in todays society has created a need in a change in traditional pedagogy and utilizing the technology effectively for todays learner. New methods of instructional delivery are rapidly evolving and depending on the educational setting need to be used differently. This creates the need for innovation. Working in a court school educational setting I need to find the most effective uses of the technology I have available to meet the needs of my learners.

Of all my classes I remember the least from this one. teaching. Many of the theories I learned in this course did not resonate until EDU625 with Prof. Jamison when I was able to connect cognitive science, Blooms taxonomy, and technology integration. The most practical application I took away from this course is that there are more than 3 learning styles. Each individual has their own learning profile that is a mix of the 3 basic styles, experiences, and environmental factors. This course was relevant in my educational context. I was able to develop a deeper level of understanding regarding the metrics of measurement and statistical tools used to evaluate student and educational progress.

Emphasis will be placed on the development of strategies for the identification, collection, presentation and use of metrics that are essential for measuring educational progress.

I gained a better understanding of standardized measurement process and the statistical tools used for comparison and evaluation of students. This class was a transferable class I took several years ago for my CLAD credential as provided by the State of California. The course was taken as a correspondence course at University of San Diego. The outcome of the course was to achieve a better understanding regarding the different needs of ESL

The course I took at USD that was transferred to this program because I work with a small population of ESL students. I learned various teaching and learning strategies that I use when needed. In my setting I have an ESL Aide who does individual work with students when I refer them to her.

I plan on staying in tune with necessary trends and strategies working with students from various cultures in my setting.

(5)EDU623 Designing Learning Environments; L. Kaiser This course will engage the student in the theoretical and practical underpinnings of the effective design of learning experiences and events. Students will learn and apply the ADDIE design model and other complementary or competing models of design. Students will be introduced to principles of design from a variety of fields that provide metaphors for how one can design a learning experience for a student. Particular attention will be given to designing active student- centered learning environments.

An in depth examination of the instructional design process using the ADDIE and other models. I learned the start to finish approach to the life of an instructional designer. After a series of blogs describing the process and a thorough examination of case studies I was able to create a training module to teach my peers and colleagues how to create and use a google site for educators. As a technology coach for my district I was able to use this training with good success.

This course was relevant in my educational context. As I move into my capstone project I will have a better idea and understand the approach to analyzing my problem or need, designing and developing an effective solution, implementing and analyzing the projects effectiveness so I can improve it if necessary for the future.

I plan on designing a blended learning environment for my community court school educational environment for science and math. Ultimately I would like to develop a model that can be used by any court school for any subject.

This course exposed me to so many different uses of technology I often found my head spinning. In the process I was constantly engaged in experiences; from second life to virtual reality, from mind mapping to story-telling, from animation to online meetings. Jamison really had a lot to offer and of all the classes I really had the best opportunity to apply and be creative, explore and have fun. Blooms taxonomy was applied to all applications and it helped to better understand material learned in EDU510, Cognitive Science. I was able to take away many resources that I have shared as a technology coach with my colleagues and as a teacher with my students.

This course was extremely relevant for my education context. I was able to take away many valuable resources that have played an important part in my current and future development as an educator. I was able to learn and utilize many current educational technology tools and also share them with my colleagues. I was able to apply Blooms Taxonomy to several technology tools and develop a list of resources that I could use and share with colleagues and students. I learned the basics of second life and virtual reality as tools for learning and find the potential very interesting.

Looking forward I plan to stay well informed with regards to emerging trends and future technology tools as they develop through networking and social media. (8)EDU697 Capstone Research Methods S. Foster EDU 697 emphasizes the evaluation of educational research and the similarities and differences between the major research approaches in the design and development of their capstone project. You will develop an understanding of the foundations of educational research and their origins, the nature of educational research, paradigms underlying the different major educational research approaches, the process of educational research, quantitative and qualitative educational research basics, and critical issues in conducting educational research for your capstone project.

Through a series of 5 assignments several aspects of educational research were examined; qualitative vs. quantitative, literature review and analysis, action research and evaluation of an action research case study. This course taught the basics of different types of educational research their theory, roots, development, and contribution to education in the past and 21st century. I was also able to develop an understanding for the critical issues regarding research, validity, relevance, and rigor as applied to the process. Depending on my capstone project this may or may not be used, but the value will at some point be used as I move forward in my educational endeavors. Opportunity for reflection, decision making, and planning for my capstone project in the next and final module of my M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology at Post University.

This course was relevant to my educational context. Much of what I learned will be used or considered in this course and my capstone project. Depending on my project selection it may or may not involve some research. I learned about complete literary reviews and this knowledge will be very useful in this course and my capstone. I also developed an understanding of critical issues and liabilities regarding research that I will consider prior to starting.

Whether I utilize educational research in my capstone or not I will definitely use it at some point in the future as an educator or educational consultant.
