in the field of Business. Students will learn the foundations of Marketing related to economics, business structures, human resources, global economies, international trade, free enterprise, business communications and interpersonal and management skills. *This course fulfills the MME Economics Credit for graduation.

Marketing functions and economic utility in the global economy Marketing careers, and career progressions Business in society Economic systems Competition Business profit and risk Relationship of government and business Supply and demand Business cycles Basic business math percentages, fractions, charts and graphs Business communications-positive working relationships-team member

Core concepts: (Second Trimester) Management concepts-quality, motivation, and leadership Selling-scope and nature, buying decisions, customer needs, selling process, sales presentation Technology in business

Promotional mix- merchandising-visual, display arrangements, costs/benefits Advertising- advertising media, agencies, and creativity Distribution and warehousing-stock and inventory controls Pricing decision-break-even, legal considerations, profit and loss statements, discount Marketing information management- surveys, data, and research Product mix-branding, labeling, product life cycles Business Plans- risk, financial statement analysis Career information- personality traits, resume, interview, letter of application job-search strategies

and group work - 30% participation and authentic assessment - 10% Final Assessment - 20%

Assignment Expectations: Assignments must be completed per the rubric


and be turned in on time for full credit. There will be reading, writing and math components that must be completed for full credit

Late Assignments: Late assignments must be turned in within

five school days for partial credit (10% loss of credit for every day up to five)

Classroom Procedures
Student Responsibilities expectations: Be on time with necessary
materials, no cell phones in class

Consequences: Loss of participation points Passes: When needed, at my discretion Cheating: The act of obtaining answers or completing assignments in a
fraudulent or deceitful manner. Staff and administrators will determine disciplinary action. Possible zero grade for assignment and possible suspension. (One hour three days)
