1
At <50ft to Point Of Exposure (POE). RBSLs to other distances up to 500ft from POE are available from
the DE UST branch.

2
Lead-Samples collected from point-of-use must be analyzed for Total Lead; samples collected from the
aquifer must be analyzed for Dissolved Lead.

3
Cumene analysis is not required for Kerosene.

4
May require PCBs, semivolatiles, volatiles for used oil

Note: Draft standards for TBA and TAME available fro the Department. Standards for DIPE and ETBE
underdevelopment.

1
Delaware's Tier 0 applies to all new sites entering the program, such as at removal or abandonment. An
existing leaking underground storage tank (LUST) site may enter at Tiers 1,2 or 3, depending on the
amount of site-specific data collected. Above Tier 0, TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO are replaced by a list of
chemicals of concern. For Tier 1 RBSLs, see DERBCAP guidance document at
http://www.dnrec.state.de.us/dnrec2000/divisions/awm/ust/Download/pdf/DERBCAP.pdf (Tables 3 and 4).

2
Analysis for MTBE may not be required at the Department's discretion when conclusive documentation
can be presented describing that the tank's period of use ended prior to 1978. For gasoline UST's only,

lead, EDB, and EDC analysis is required unless conclusive documentation is presented and pre-
approved by the UST Branch that the gasoline UST was installed after 1/1/88. Lead, EDB and EDC
analysis is always required for aviation gasoline USTS.

3
Used Oil is defined as described in Part A, Section 2, of Delaware's UST Regulations and Delaware's
Hazardous Waste Management Branch Regulations.

4
"Other" may mean Metals, Volatiles, Semivolatiles, EDB, EDC, or other as required on a site-specific
basis.
