WHY COACHING SKILLS? The global economy has changed and presents todays leaders with more opportunities to coach for performance and results. Leaders who possess coaching skills directly impact current and future employee performance in numerous ways. Leaders who acquire active coaching skills have the ability to enhance growth and performance, promote individual responsibility, and encourage accountability. CMOEs Coaching Skills Workshop is designed to help participants develop the necessary skills to effectively coach others. The workshop is based on The Coaching Model a proven process that is backed by extensive and ongoing research. The Model is a flexible and dynamic communication road map that leaders use to interact more effectively in a coaching situation. The workshop also focuses on developing the following skills for the participants: Promoting a highly engaged work environment, a culture of trust, enhanced performance, and improved productivity Sharing feedback on their performance and development Coaching to achieve full potential of team members and drive bottom-line results Bringing resistance to change to the surface and work through obstacles (hidden or not) that impede change Developing and enhancing execution skills to drive strategic priorities Addressing performance problems through greater individual and team accountability Develop future leadership talent by increasing innovation, commitment, and ownership Building respect and trust among team members.

Coaching Defined
Coaching is the ongoing process of building partnerships aimed at continuous improvement. It is a two-way communication process between members of the organization (e.g. leaders and team members, peer-topeer), and is designed to develop and enhance hard and soft skills, motivation, attitude, judgment, and the ability to perform and contribute to an organizations strategic objectives. OUTCOMES AND RESULTS: Leaders at all levels will benefit from the learning experience and experience the following outcomes and results from the Coaching Skills Workshop: A careful examination of their current coaching skills and practices. An understanding of how to change for the better and improve upon their current skills. Familiarity, through in-class practice opportunities, with using the Coaching Skills Model to coach to a variety of common workplace situations. Knowledge of how to collaborate with and guide team members in setting goals and action plans.

Initiate conversations about uncomfortable or challenging issues. Conveying and expressing support and minimizing defensiveness. Motivating team members to change ineffective attitudes and behaviors. Turning problems and challenges into learning opportunities. Sparking creative thinking, sharing recognition, and acknowledging strengths. Resolving differences and disagreements among team members. Exercising more influence and transfering knowledge and ideas to others. LEARNING METHODS Each workshop utilizes highly effective adult learning methods. Certified facilitators actively model and explain the skills being developed. These learning scenarios include hands-on tasks and group exercises. Key concepts are presented in a manner that reinforces and clarifies the learning topics. Participants discover how to use the skills and how to continue to implement effective coaching practices. The Coaching Skills Workshop is customizable to address the specific needs of the audience. The delivery methods include live classroom, virtual classroom, and web-based classroom in a 1- or 2-day format. Experienced CMOE facilitators lead workshops from any location of your choosing. We also offer a Train-the-Trainer service in which we provide the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver The Coaching Skills Workshop at any time. Clients that choose this option simply purchase the participant materials from CMOE on an as-needed basis.
