Article Types
Research Reports: Original research that describes new experimental findings The article must consist of no more than 15 pages. Exceptions can be made, on a case-by-case basis. An original article should have an abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusion. Any and all necessary or relevant figures, tables, or images should be included and adhere to the formatting requirements outlined in Formatting Requirements. Reviews: Articles should provide insight in an area within the scope of QSURJ. - The article must consist of no more than 15 pages. Exceptions can be made, on a case-by-case basis. - A review article should include an abstract, introduction, discussion of known research and implications of the current work. - The article should critique current work and analyze both the pros and cons of the articles being examined. - Any and all necessary or relevant figures, tables, or images should be included and adhere to the formatting requirements outlined in Formatting Requirements. Letters to the Editors: Letters should address specific articles that are published in QSURJ. - The letter must consist of no more than 3 pages. - Letters will be reviewed by QSURJ Editors-in-Chief - Submission of a letter will not guarantee its publication. - Authors of the publication in question can respond to and address the comments made. - Replies should follow the same format as Letters to the Editor Note: Page limitations are implemented because there will a print copy of this journal. Authors are asked to use some discretion with respect to length and adhere to the page limitations.
Formatting Requirements
1. The article, including all figures, references and abstract must be compiled in a single file. 2. 1 inch margins must be present on all sides of the submitted document. 3. 8.5x11 paper size is required.
4. Double space the work. o Exceptions to paragraph spacing include: long quotes, theorems and important notes, or remarks. 5. Calibri size 11 font, must be used for the main body, while Calibri size 9 font must be used for footnotes. 6. Do not begin new paragraphs on the bottom of a page, in such a way that the next page begins midway through a paragraph. 7. The voices used in the submission must be active, past passive, and past for the introduction, methods and results sections respectively. 8. Italics should be used for titles, as well as to emphasize important words. The italics should be used in place of bold, or colored text, in the latter case. 9. Any figures or images in proximity to where they are mentioned in the text must have an appropriate caption underneath. o If the figure is too large, it should be included on a separate page, and this should be noted in the text. 10. All numbers must be presented in the metric system 11. All articles are to be written in English, unless a specific word or phrase is significant in its original language.
