Series Evaluation
Directions: Evaluate your work based on the following criteria. Each section is worth 25 points. Filling
out this worksheet with thought and completion is another grade for this problem.
T S
______ / ______ 25 points OBJECTIVE(S): solving the problem
I have created a series of at lest 3 or more photograms that are unified by composition.
I have considered a themeatic connection between the photograms.
I have selected only high quality, well exposed prints to solve the problem.

Comments:
______ / ______ 25 points DARKROOM SKILLS: studio processes and procedures
Each of my photogram exposures demonstrate the following compositional considerations:
My objects touch and go off the edges of at least 2 or more sides so they can be connected.
I have avoided “filling” the format, but instead carefully arranged my objects to create a balance
of both positive and negative space.
My objects are a variety of sizes to establish contrast and interesting space.
I have overlapped my objects to create more interesting and unique shapes.

Comments:

______ / ______ 25 points DESIGN / CONCEPT: how you solved the problem as an artist

Each of the prints has good contrast (wide variety of values that range from darkest black to whitest white).
My final prints demonstrate proper exposure techniques including adjusting times when necessary.
I have used a glass easel when needed to flatten certain objects of my composition
I have demonstrated the proper use of darkroom chemistry and processes to make my prints
I have demonstrated at least 1 type of experimental printing
Contact Printing - turning a negative into a positive
Multiple exposure - moving objects during or in between exposures
Experimental overlapping - layering objects to create different transparency effects.

Comments:

______ / ______ 25 points PRESENTATION: craftsmanship of the final print

I have carefully trimmed each print and taped them together for presentation purposes
Each of my prints demonstrates proper care (no chemical stains, dings- breaks in emulsion, unwanted
marks, scratches, dust or other distracting elements)
