bring a Temporary Peace to Israel..
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of
the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the
overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.[ See
Daniel 9:27].

Why will the peace be temporary...?

Because all man made Peace Treaties for one reason or
another, are written in such a way that they can be broken...
Why will there be a Peace Treaty ?
People in Israel want to see a "Third Temple" on The Temple
Mount. However, the present circumstances do not allow for
The Third Temple to be built on The Temple Mount
..Jerusalem was captured back from the Gentiles in 1967...Fifty
years is the Year of Jubilee..
Will there be a Temple on The Temple Mount in 2017 ?
I do not know. No one knows.
However, in order for animal sacrifices to cease, there has to be
a Third Temple built on The Temple Mount
...In #Revelation 11:1-2 we read :
".. And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the
angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and
the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and
measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy
city shall they tread under foot forty and two months...".

Scriptures indicate in #Revelation 11:2, that part of The Temple

Mount was given to the Gentiles to worship ..
The whole controversial thing that hinders "peace" is Control of
The Temple Mount...
Look at The Temple Mount today..
Who will broker the Peace Accord ...The so called "Seven Year
Covenant of Peace" ...?
The Catholics will most certainly be involved. The Catholics
want to control Jerusalem because The Catholics claim that
they are The "First Church". But The Church started in
Jerusalem not in Rome.
To solve their "problem" The Catholics will draft a PEACE PLAN...
A seven year peace plan...The Peace Plan will allow Israel to
build a Temple and a piece of The Temple Mount will be given to
"the gentiles".
However, after forty two months or three and a half years..The
Seven Year Covenant of Peace will be broken when The Anti
-Christ enters The Temple and declares himself to be
god....and stop the animal sacrifices... [ See #Daniel 9:27 ;
#Revelation 11; etc ].
People in The Middle East desire Peace. Israel wants "Peace".
The Arab Nations want "Peace". The Western and Eastern
Nations want "Peace".
The Holy Bible says that when there are talk of Peace...sudden
destruction will come..".. For when they say, Peace and
safety! then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labour
pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape...".

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh
upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
