Design Error: Taotao 50cc scooter/moped. 1.

This 50cc bike is not a moped by king's English, but a true automatic motor s cooter. No pedals exist like an ebike; that is a moped - by definition. 2. A serious brake problem for conservative operators exists; 2013 ATM-A 50cc ha s front caliper brake replaced with hydrolic unit to sate a DOT requirement; tha t a brake must halt tire rotation. The improper classification of moped put this scooter into a bike's philosophy; thus making the hydrolic system very unsafe a t low bicycle speed - because of too short a timebase for recovery. Yes, kids wo uld enjoy this "defect" because bike can be upended, and bounced on the front ti re; as a stunt, demonstrated on TV! 3. Senior Citizens needing cheap transportation (like myself), are being forced into this mode of transportation by inflexible rules of Corporate municipalities , with their illegal political control of police departments. So there is the ho nest need for a conservative version of the ATM 50 scooter; to improve sales, by expanding marketing, and lowering fabrication costs; while reducing liability. a. Soft front brake to aid the rear, instead of overpowering it (or have a means to adjust the front brake for a soft program). Panic stopping with a ne w driver that doesn't comprehend, or is an experienced highly skilled older one, but slower in reaction time), will find the short wheel base, that becomes some what upended with front brake application, that removes the drag traction stabil ity of the rear brake - so the center of gravity will attempt to snap the bike a bout the center of resistance (i.e stalled front tire), causing a viscous transi ent accident. [typically ending with driver pinned under the bike with a drippin g gas tank, and a running motor. Hmm] 4. My affection for the bike after owning a Honda Gold Wing; my last "scooter?" Is strong enough to find a solution to the Senior problem - even if I am forced to remove the right lever, readjust the throttle limiter for 26 mph max speed; a lthough this would limit snap acceleration in traffic (of which I am not competi tive, but bicycle skilled to handle). Obviously the soft front brake would be a superior solution. And stop me from being hounded by police when doing 24 mph in a 45 zone (on a 10 degree grade??), due the motor phonics (not an ebike coupled with political ignorance of law). HI 5. Another design thought for us seniors: make the 50cc machine onto the 150 fra me for better weight distribution, more comfort, more rear brake drag for stabil ity, thus keeping the moped rating. This would be a cheap classy senior's scoote r for more profit, and legal advantages, at less cost and danger of a 150cc bike . [Right now my totally stock ATM50 does 46.5 mph on an expressway service road; meaning throttle limiting screw is missing. The larger frame would make the bik e competitive to a $4000 ATV or NEV, and immune to police persecution if driven like the scooter it is - instead of a motorcycle.] As a conservative senior (and 6th amendment attorney, that is useless in these modern times under martial law ) I am totally thrilled at getting about my 6 miles from home at Lance Armstrong 's velocity. More speed to me then that, is just overkill. If ordered through AMAZON or Internet distributors, you will get a machine in ki t form. I bought mine assembled from a dealer, and believe I would have been bet ter off putting it together myself, even though the price the same. Coot Scoot i nc. would be carrying this bike, but my mechanic would be earning much more than myself since quality for seniors is more important. [My creative business philo sophy, that has been destroyed by greed in America.] So, in the interim, I will try to force myself to use a trigger finger on my fro nt brake lever, and see if my learning capability is actually better than my per ception of it.
