A repeated phrase between two different instruments/groups must be played the same.

A repeated phrase by the same instrument/group must be played differently.

BRING OUT DISSONANCES OR THEY WILL SOUND WRONG.


If dissonant notes are played at the same dynamic as the base consonant chord, the dissonances will sound like missed notes. Players must go against their instinct to shy away.
