BUILD UP HOPE IN MOROCCO
In 2006, Kentucky Baptist Fellowship began a partnership with
the Protestant church in Morocco (Eglise Evangelique au Maroc).
Three years into the venture, our shared desire to “Build Up Hope”
was realized as seventeen Kentuckians traveled to Morocco for
a music exchange with twenty-four students representing the
congregations of the EEAM (known as the Voices United Choir).
Words do not sufficiently describe all that was shared in North
Africa, but the following poem written by the Kentucky choir
members tell of the blessing of friendship the Voices United
choir received while building up hope in Morocco.
We came to Africa with a song and left with...repertoire...a new
calling on our lives because of your stories, music, rhythm and
passion...a greater sense of joy and passion for being part of the body
of Christ...a new face of God...24 new friends whose amazing love
for our Lord, Jesus Christ, was given to us so freely and uncondition-
ally...They are the hands and feet in this land...I have heard and seen
the face of God and am forever changed...Never have I felt such love
divine on this earth...I am blessed...I love them all...Your song ringing
in my heart filling my soul with hope and love...a symphony of
“Grace’ Divine”...a glimpse of heaven...a love for Africa in my heart
...a picture of God’s heart beating in sync to the rhythm of Africa
...fulfilled dreams...a clearer picture of what God must have dreamed
for the world...the song of Africa in my heart...the treasure of remem-
bering the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases and that no matter
where you go, your everlasting God is “aupres de toi” - always with
you...the gift of dancing in God’s presence...a giant “A-ll-loy-yah!”
“Build Up Hope” The annual Kentucky Baptist Fellowship Missions
Offering is about hope. We build up hope every time we form a new
relationship as Kentucky Baptist Fellowship. We build up hope when
we are the “special people” God has called us to be, working
together to accomplish more than we ever could alone. Your
offering of financial gifts allows Kentucky Baptist Fellowship to
continue to “Build Up Hope” across Kentucky and beyond.
Our target date for receiving the KBF Mission Offering is October 11,
2009. Gifts from this year’s missions offering will be divided in three
ways:
• Mountain Hope, KBF’s rural poverty initiative, part of
CBF’s Together For Hope
• Morocco Partnership, KBF’s global partnership with
the Protestant church in Morocco
• Church Start/Re-start, KBF’s ongoing commitment to
cultivating Christian community
Together we’re building up hope in Kentucky.
Together we’re building up hope in
communities as far away as Africa.
Together...we are building up hope
sharing our commitment to the
Great Commission of Jesus Christ.
