REPORT WRITING
INTRODUCTION The introduction leads into the main subject matter by giving the necessary background of the report, its aims, premises, scope, limitations, approach intended audience, possible benefits and any instructions that may be useful for the reader. If specialist terms are used in the report, define them clearly. It puts the discussion in perspective, explains why the report is necessary and gives background information on the subject matter. There are four types of introduction. 1) State the object:This is very common type.it gives the result of the investigation of delay at work station three. 2) State the context: This introduction provides enough information to a reader about rest of the report. It has four piece of information.(a) cause (b) credibility (c) purpose (d) preview 3) Alert the reader to problem:This introduction is basically use for to focus on the problem and set the contrast between positive and negative. 4) Use the preprinted form:This form contains spaces for contents, informations and blanks for information management details. SUMMARY The summary also called abstract or some time executive summary is a on to one miniaturization of that discussion section. BACKGROUND The background statement give the reader a context by exploring the project methodology or history . CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Conclusions:are drawn from evidence, analysis, interpretation and evaluation presented in the
discussion. No new material should be introduced; the conclusions should follow logically from the Discussion. The Conclusions section should give: (1) Conclusions (2) Key points (3) Main findings

Recommendation: Section (when used - not all reports give recommendations) should present your
informed opinions, suggestions, possible actions to be taken, applications and recommendations arising from a rational consideration of the discussion and conclusions. 1) Be definite 2) Be perceptive 3) Be imaginative 4) Be rational

DISCUSSIONS: The discussion is the main body of the report. Use headings and sub-headings. It describes, analyses, interprets and evaluates the procedures, data, findings, relationships, visual material, methodology and results in the report. This material should be presented in an order that leads logically towards the conclusions and recommendations.
