SECTION1 INTRODUCTORYOVERVIEW/HISTORYOFEVENTS
TheBidManual Thismanualwillfamiliarizethepotentialbidderwith(1)USATAEKWONDO,(2)the requirementsofhostingtheUSATNationalChampionships,and(3)theprocessforfilingaBid Application.Onceahostcityhasbeenawardedtheevent,thismanualcanbeconvertedintoa basicplanningandoperationsmanual.Itcanalsobeavaluabletoolforthehostorganization withtheirplanningeffortsandsubsequentprogramoperation. TheBidApplication Theapplicationisinaquestionnaireformatandrespondstotherequestsandrequirements outlinedintheBidManual.InadditiontothesubmittaloftheBidApplication,prospective hostsarebeingaskedtoattachothermaterialsandinformation.Theseareimportant supplementstothetotalfactfindingprocessUSATAEKWONDOneedsinordertomaketheir bestinformeddecision. TheUnitedStatesOlympicCommittee(USOC)recognizesUSATAEKWONDO(USAT)asthe NationalGoverningBody(NGB)forthesportofTaekwondointheUnitedStates.Aprimary functionoftheNGBistoconductnationaleventsinitssport.OneoftheseeventsforUSA TAEKWONDOistheUSATNationalChampionships. TheUSATNationalChampionships USATAEKWONDO(USAT)conductstheUSATNationalChampionshipsonanannualbasis.The USATNationalChampionshipsisthepremierTaekwondoeventforpractitionersrangingfrom age6to99.ThisisthelargestsingleTaekwondocompetitionintheworld.In2012,over3,700 Taekwondoathletesandcoachesparticipatedinthisevent. Theeventitselfincludes67daysofcompetitionand1daysofregistration/checkin. Competitorswillcompeteononeofthedaysofcompetition,dependingonthecompetition schedule. Theeventusuallytakesplaceoverthe4thofJulyHolidayandbringsoutmanyfamilieswhotake thisopportunitytomakeavacationofthewholeactivity.Totalparticipationoftenexceeds 12,500spectatorsfortheentireevent. AprincipalgoalofthesiteselectionprocessistoshowcasethesportofTaekwondoindifferent regionsofthecountry.Ithasbeenconsistentlydemonstratedthatlocalandregional TaekwondoactivityhasincreasedsignificantlyfollowingaUSATNationalChampionshipEvent. OtherbyproductsareanincreasedawarenessandbetterappreciationofTaekwondointhe localcommunity.

TheRoadtotheUSATNationalChampionships In2009USATreactivatedourstateassociations.USAThasseentremendousmembership growthbecauseofthisstrategicmove.Currentlyallathletesarerequiredtoparticipateina StateChampionshipsinordertoparticipateintheNationalChampionships.Thetopfour winnersinsparringfromallstatechampionshipsarequalifiedtoparticipateintheWorldClass divisionsattheNationalChampionships. USATAEKWONDOMISSIONSTATEMENT ThemissionoftheUSATAEKWONDOistoenableUnitedStatesathletestoachievesustained competitiveexcellenceandpromoteandgrowthesportofTaekwondo. WHATISUSATAEKWONDO? USATaekwondo(USAT)istheNationalGoverningBody(NGB)forthesportsofTaekwondoin theUnitedStatesofAmericaasrecognizedbytheUnitedStatesOlympicCommittee(USOC). USATprovidesdevelopmentalopportunitiesforTaekwondoathletesthroughouttheU.S.to cultivatetheirknowledgeofthesportwhilestrivingforworldclassstatus. Taekwondoisadefensive,martialartthatcombinesphilosophy,mentaldiscipline,physical exercise,andphysicalability.Itpromotesawiderangeofprinciplesincludingthefollowing: Goodphysicalcondition SelfDefense SelfConfidence Respect Goodhealthregardlessofgender,physique,orage TheoriginsofTaekwondo,whichgobacktwothousandyears,lieinKorea.Duringitshistory, thissporthasbeenknownbyvariousnames,likeTaekyonorSubak.Theofficialname, Taekwondo,wasannouncedin1955;ayearlater,thefirstchampionshipswereheld.The KoreanTaekwondoFederationwasfoundedin1965,andtheWorldTaekwondoFederationwas foundedin1973.DuringthesameyearthefirstWorldChampionshiptookplace. 1980wasanimportantyearforthesport,sincetheInternationalOlympicCommittee(IOC) acknowledgedTaekwondoasanOlympicsport.Itwasincludedasanexhibitionsportintwo successiveOlympicGames:inSeoul(1988)andBarcelona(1992).Taekwondowasincludedon theOlympicGamescompetitionscheduleforthefirsttimeattheSydneyGamesin2000. Inpreparingforthenextquadrennium(20092012),USATlookstoexpandcurrentprograms andtocreateadditionaldevelopmentalavenuesforathleteswantingtorepresenttheU.S.at theinternationallevel.SomeoftheprogramsUSATlookstoprovidearedevelopmental opportunitiesatthegrassrootslevelincludinghighperformanceclinicsforathletesages617.It istheUSAT'sgoaltoidentifyworldclassathletesandprovidethemwiththebesttraining, internationalcompetitions,educationalopportunities,andacontinuouspipelinetothe OlympicGames.

SECTION3 HOSTCITYINVOLVEMENT
USATAEKWONDOrequirestheHostCitytoprovide: (1) VENUE: Anarenaordomestadiumwith150,000squarefeetofcontiguousfloorspaceto fit15to2040x40competitionareaswithaminimumof10walkwayin betweeneachmatspace Or Aconventioncenterthatcanaccommodatethefollowingunderoneroof: 150,000200,000squarefeetofcontinuousfloorspacetofit15to2040x40 competitionareaswitha10walkwayinbetweeneachmatspace. Complimentarybleachersorelevatedseatingandbarricadesfor7000people mustbeprovidedifaconventioncenterisused. ***ArenaorDome/Elevatedseatingvenueispreferred. (2) VOLUNTEERSandSTAFFING:Requiredsupportstafforvolunteersupto100perday includingasetupcrewfor8hoursonMondayandateardowncrewonSundaypost competition.(PleaseseesamplevolunteerpacketinAppendix). (3) HOUSING:Sufficienthousingwithincloseproximity(preferwalkingdistances)tothe playingsitealongwithOne(1)headquarterhotelclosetotheplayingsitewith contractedroomsforUSATAEKWONDOEventStaff.PleaseseetheHotelSectionofthe bidpacketforguidelines. (14) POSTEVENTMEAL:Approximately7590peopledependingoncompetition length.OfficialbidswillgetfavorableconsiderationwhenofferingcateringforUSAT personnelevents,includingbutnotlimitedtoseminars,trainingsessions,referee meetings,andhospitalityfunctions. TheBidProcess OutlinedinSection5ofthismanualisadescriptionofUSATAEKWONDOsrequirementsforthe conductoftheUSATNationalChampionships.Ifalloftheserequirementscanbemet,thebid proceduresforthiseventarelocatedinSection10.OfgreatinteresttoUSATAEKWONDOisa hostcitythatcanprovidealloftherequirementsandconformtoUSATAEKWONDOsexisting

andprojectedobligationstoitsEventsponsors,whileassistingwiththeprocurementofEvent requirements. SiteSelectionforYears2015 USATAEKWONDOiscurrentlyseekingbidsforthiseventin2015andbeyond.Thepreferred datesfortheseeventsarethefollowing: YEAR DATES MOVEIN/MOVEOUT COMPETITIONDATES 2015 July39,2015 July12/July10 July39 Bidsolicitationswillbeacceptedimmediatelyforallyears.ItisthedesireofUSATAEKWONDO todecideoneachbidconsistentwiththefollowingschedule: YEAR BIDSDUE FINALDECISION(Approx.) 2015 December2013 May2014 Thedeadlinemaybeextendedifinsufficientbidsarenotreceivedbythesetargetdates. SITEEVALUATIONVISIT:Seriousbidderswillbeexpectedtohostandprovideallexpensesfor uptotwopersonsfromUSATAEKWONDO.Thissiteevaluationvisitwillinspectallofthe facilitiesinanefforttodeterminetheadequacyofacitytoserveasthepotentialhostcity.This visitwillfollowreceiptofthebidapplicationandbepriortothefinalsiteselection. Additionally,USATaekwondorepresentativeswillbeevaluatingthefollowing: 1. Venueproximitytoproposedhosthotel 2. DistancefromtheAirport 3. Facilityrentalfeeandstaffingcosts 4. SupportofferedfromCVB,sportscommissions,andthelocal community 5. Abilitytorecruitvolunteers PersonsrepresentingUSATAEKWONDO: 1. Shallbebookedineconomyclassforairlinetravelforallflights 2. Shallbelodgedinahotelproposedtobeusedfortheeventhousing(Headquarters Hotelifpossible)inastandardroomatdoubleoccupancy. 3. Shallnotacceptgiftstotalingmorethan$50invalue 4. Shallnotacceptinappropriateorextravagantentertainment PotentialVariables:Pleaseberemindedthatthesebidspecificationsprecedetheactualdateof announcementoftheFinalDecision.ThehostandUSATaekwondoneedtobeflexibleand adapttonewcircumstancesastheyarise.

SECTION4 HOWTHEHOSTCITYBENEFITS
USATAEKWONDOandallhostcitiesaremakinggreateffortstogrowthesportofTaekwondo, locallyandnationally,whilepromotingeachcitythroughvariousmediainordertobringanew populationofvisitorsandtheirfamiliestoyourcity. NUMBERSASSOCIATEDWITHTHEEVENT Over3000participantsfromtheageof6yearsoldandabovefromacrosstheUnited StateswillattendtheUSATNationalChampionships.(basedonthe2011figures) Over12,000spectators,whoaregenerallyfamilyandfriends,willattendtheeventand oftenrequirehousing(anaverageof4nightsperparticipant),food,andtransportation. Theywillhavetheopportunitytovisitmanylocalhistoricalsitesaswellasmanyother areasofinterest. The2015eventmarksthe35thUSATNationalChampionships. ECONOMICIMPACT TheUSATNationalChampionshipsrequiremorethan6,000roomnightsatlocalhotels withtheaveragefamilyspendingaminimumof4nightsintheHostCity. Inrecentyears,theUSATNCbringsaneconomicimpactof$6.1milliontotheimmediate communityintermsofhotels,restaurants,touristattractions,transportation,andgift purchases.(BasedonresearchdonebytheSportsMarketingResearchInstitute(SMRI) andtheUniversityofNorthernColorado. RECOGNITIONANDVISIBILITY VisitorVisibility:Yourcitywillgetexposuretoapproximately15,000attendeesand spectators.TheseparticipantsandspectatorscomefromacrosstheUnitedStatesand willbereturninghometosharetheirexperienceswiththeirfriendsandrelativeswho maydecidetovisityourcityinthefuture. HostRecognition:HostingtheUSATNationalChampionshipsmayleadtohostingother amateurandprofessionalsportingevents.Ifthefirsteventissuccessfulforboththe USATAEKWONDOandtheHostCity,USATAEKWONDOmayentertainopportunitiesto bringotherUSATAEKWONDOeventsbacktotheHostCityonacyclicalbasis. SECTION5 USATAEKWONDOSEXPECTATIONSOFTHEHOSTCITY
TheUSATNationalChampionshipsareamajorprogramofUSATAEKWONDO(USAT)and currentlyinvolvemorethan4000participantsfromallovertheUnitedStates.WhileUSA TAEKWONDOisresponsibleforconductingtheevent,theHostCityisexpectedtoprovidethe basicancillaryingredientssurroundingtheconductofthechampionships. Itisimportantthebiddinggroupisfullyawareofthefollowingexpectationswhenconsidering thehostingofthisevent.Theywillbeprimaryissuesinthefinalnegotiationsaswellasintegral componentsoftheoperatingagreementsandfinaldecisions. Uponsubmittalofthebid,USATAEKWONDOwillassumethebidderhasreadandfully understandstheexpectations,andfurther,ispreparedtoassumetheresponsibilities.Upon receiptoftheBidApplication,andwitnessedbyanauthorizedsignature,abidwillbe consideredanofficialinvitationforUSATAEKWONDOtoproceedwiththeassumptionsin place. A. COMPETITIONVENUE AprimaryconsiderationistheuseofaDomeorelevatedseatingvenuepreferablyatnoorata substantiallyreducedcosttotheUSATAEKWONDOfortheconductoftheUSATAEKWONDO USATNationalChampionshipsTaekwondoChampionshipsandancillarymeetings.Leasefees arefrequentlynegotiatedbetweenhosthotels,thelocalConventionandVisitorsBureauand localsponsorsinordertoreachasatisfactoryrentalagreement.Specificrequirementsforthis eventare: 1. Arenastylevenueispreferred.Thisvenuemustcontainopenfloorspaceataminimumof 150,000squarefeet. Or Anopenspaceunderoneroofwithaminimumof150,000200,000squarefeet.Column freespaceispreferredalongwithelevatedseatingforthespectators. ***Ifthisareaisaconventioncenter,elevatedbleacherseatingmustbeavailablefora minimumof7,000spectators. 2. Thefollowingshallbeavailableatnoadditionalcost: 1SecureStorageroom(20x20minimum)forUSATAEKWONDOandvendorsto lockupmerchandiseandproperties Loadingdockcapableofreceiving253trailerandanequipmenttrailerforthe durationoftheevent Avendorareawiththecapabilitiesofhandlingaminimumof2010x10exhibitor boothsand120x20booth Officialsworkroomandloungewithhospitalityforthestaff Avolunteerhospitalityroomwithcapacityfor100people.

Banquetsettingcapableofseatingaminimumof175peopleforlunchanddinner. ARegistrationareawithelectricaloutletsandaninternetconnection.The registrationareashouldhaveaseparateentrancefromticketedparticipantswith theabilitytohost10registrationunits.Pleasenotethatthisisahightrafficarea withlonglines.Thisspaceshouldbeavailableuptothree(3)dayspriortothefirst competitionday. Weighinrooms,maleandfemale,withelectricaloutlets.Thesespacesshouldbe approximately20'x20'.Pleasenotethatthisisalsoahightrafficareawithlong lines. Meetingroomscapableofaccommodatingthefollowing: i. CoachingOrientationpreparedfor100,theaterstylefrom7:30am8:30am eachmorningofcompetitionandontheeveningpriortoeventstartdate. ii. AssociateCoachSeminarpreparedfor200,theaterstylestartingtheday priortotheeventcompetition. iii. Level1CoachSeminarpreparedfor100,theatrestylestartingthedayprior totheeventcompetition. iv. RefereeMeetingRoompreparedfor175,theaterstyleforeachcompetition dayonthedaypriortothecompetitionbutcanbesetupasroundsfor hospitalityforstaffandofficialsonEventDays. v. RefereeSeminarMeetingRoomspreparedfor100,theatrestyletheday priortotheeventstart.

Alloftheseroomsshallbeincloseproximitytotheplayingarea. 3. Suitabletimefortheinstallationofaportablecompetitionsurface(suppliedbyUSA TAEKWONDO)andteardownfollowingthecompletionoftheEvent.Usuallysetupand teardowncanbeaccommodatedbymakingthevenueavailableonedaypriortothestartof thecompetitionandonedayfollowingthecompletionofthecompetition.Teardowncan becompletedonSundaynightifnecessaryanddependingonthelengthofcompetition. 4. Useofthefollowingequipmenttobeusedprimarilyduringsetupandteardown: Wednesdayfrom8am8pmandSundayaftercompetitionconcludesforupto4hours. 1motorizedforklift 2batteryoperatedgolfcartstyleminitruckswithpermissionforourcertified stafftooperatethesemachines 4pullcarts 2palletjacks B. HOUSING USATAEKWONDOsmainconcernisprovidinganextensiverangeofhotelsfrom accommodations,price,amenities,distancefromthevenue,andwillingnesstoworkwithUSA TAEKWONDOtoprovidenecessarystaff/officialsrooms. 1. Itisequallyimportantthatthehotelssetupmealpackagesordiscountcouponsforour participantsduringtheevent.USATAEKWONDOwouldliketoadvertisethisinformation

onourwebsiteandintheinformationprovidedtoourparticipants.Tentofifteen dollarsisagoodpricerangeforabuffetstylebreakfast. C. STAFFING TheLocalOrganizingCommittee OrganizationsbiddingonthiseventmustspecifyaLocalOrganizingCommittee(LOC)and chairperson;itisrecommendedthattheLOChasprioreventplanningexperience.USA TAEKWONDOalsorecommendsthattheLOCcommunicateswithlocalTaekwondoclubsto coordinateeventspecificpersonnelandvolunteers.Pleasekeepinmindthatinorderforthe eventtoruninanorderlyandorganizedfashion,USATAEKWONDOwillrelyontheLOCand hostcitytoprovidethisadditionalsupport.ThefollowingarestaffwhoUSATAEKWONDO wouldlikeprovidedbytheLOCandthecitybiddingontheevent: EventManager:AprimarycontactpersononcethecityandtheLOCareawardedthebid. EventCoordinator:Thepersonresponsibleforthedetailsoftheeventalongwithbeingableto communicatewiththeentirestaff.ThispersonwillalsoactasaliaisonbetweentheUSA TAEKWONDOEventsDepartmentandthemediaoutletsinthehostcity. FacilityEventDirector:Theprimarycontactforthefacilityhostingtheevent. VolunteerCoordinator:ThispersonshouldbetheleadfortheLOCincoordinatingvolunteers andstafftohelpruntheeventandregistrationproceduresandmustbeonsitefortheentire event.Thispersonwillalsoberesponsibleforhelpingtorecruitmedicalvolunteers.Itishighly advisedthatUSATAEKWONDOispartoftheselectionprocessinnamingavolunteer coordinator. SponsorshipandMarketingCoordinator:ThispersonwillactasaliaisonbetweenUSA TAEKWONDOandtheLOCinordertomaximizelocalsponsorshipopportunities.Theproceeds fromthesponsorshipsalesorotherrevenuesharingopportunitiescanbenegotiatedinorder tobenefittobothUSATAEKWONDOandtheLOC.However,theLOCmustcoordinateandget finalapprovalfromtheDirectorofEventspriortosigninganysponsorshipdealsinorderto avoidconflictswithUSATAEKWONDONationalSponsorshipdealscurrentlyinplace. SecurityCoordinator:Thispersonwillbetheprimarycontactregardingcoordinatingthe security/staffingneedsifthefacilityisnotinchargeofcoordinatingeventstaffing.Thisperson willworkcloselywiththeUSATaekwondoEventManager/Director. D. MISCELLANEOUSSERVICES ThebiddingorganizationandtheLOCmustprovidethefollowingservicesandproductsintheir bidpackage.Inorderforthebidtobeconsidered,thoseservicesmarkedrequiredmustbe addressedinthebidpackage.Anyserviceorproductinadditiontothoserequiredwillonly enhancethefinalbidpackageandwillbestrongconsiderationswhentheUSATAEKWONDO awardsthebid.

REQUIRED 1. AssistancewithobtainingtaxexemptstatusintheStatewheretheEventisbeing conductedasUSATAEKWONDOisa501c3organization. 2. ReleaseofmerchandiseandtelevisionbroadcastingrightstoUSATAEKWONDOforthe facilities. 3. Complimentarytransportationtoandfromtheairportforstaff,officials,andvarious committees. 4. Recruitmentandcoordinationofover100volunteersperdayincludingsetupand teardownofthecompetitionarea. 5. CopyMachineintheRegistrationArea. ADDITIONALNEEDS 1. FinancialSupportfortheevent 2. Assistanceinprovidingdiscountedservicesforprofessionallyprintedsigns,chairs, tables,banners,andbulletinboards 3. Willingnesstohelppromotetheeventthroughoutthehostcity.Hangingbanners, welcomesign,airportsignage,meetandgreet,etc. 4. A.COMPETITIONAREA Anarenastylevenueshallhaveanopenandunobstructedfloorspaceofatleast100,000 squarefeetforfifteentotwenty40x40WTFregulationringswitha10safetywalkwayin betweeneachmat.Aconventionstylevenueshallhaveanopenandunobstructedfloorspace ofatleast150,000200,000squarefeetforfifteentotwenty40x40WTFregulationrings witha10safetywalkwayinbetweeneachmat.Theidealcompetitionareawillbeanarena typestadiumwherethespectatorsdonothaveaccesstothecompetitionfloor.Inaddition, thereshouldbeseatingforaminimumof10peoplearoundeachmat.Pleaseseetheattached diagram.Ifbleacherseatingisusedforspectators,thisseatingmustbeaminimumof15feet fromthematareaandberaisedtoallowforoptimalsightlines.Ifaconventioncenteris proposed,7000bleacherseatsmustbeprovidedcomplimentarytoUSATaekwondoforthe event.Inaddition,thecompetitionareamustbeenclosedbycrowdcontrolbarricadeswhile takingintoaccountthetrafficflowpatternsandspectatorviewingwithoutcongestionforthe participants.Forthisreason,thebidorganizationshouldprovideaCADdrawingtoUSA TAEKWONDOuponsubmittingthebid. B.COMPETITIONSURFACE USATAEKWONDOwillsupplyportablematswhichwillarrivetwodayspriortocompetitionina USATAEKWONDOsuppliedtrailer.USATAEKWONDOstaffandtheassignedTournamentStaff willcoordinatethematlayoutforthefacilitybasedoffofthefinalCADdrawingsuppliedbythe USATAEKWONDOstaff.USATAEKWONDOwillprovidethehostfacilitywithavenuediagram aswell.Theinstallation,teardownandrepackingoftheportablematsurfaceswillbeunder thedirectionofUSATAEKWONDO'sTournamentStaff.TheLOCandtheVolunteerCoordinator incooperationwiththeUSATAEKWONDOwillberesponsibleforprovidingtheworkforce necessarytoaidinthisprocess. SECTION7 HOUSINGREQUIREMENTS
USATAEKWONDOwillnegotiatehotelcontractsandguaranteeingtheratesandneedsofUSA TAEKWONDO.Inaddition,USATwillberesponsibleinnegotiatingthecomplimentaryroom needsforstaffandofficialsforUSATAEKWONDO.Whensubmittingabid,pleasecoordinate withUSATforallhotelneedsandquestions. RecentUSATAEKWONDOhistoryindicatestheneedforhotelblockstoaccommodate approximately1800roomnightsfortheentiredurationoftheevent.Whilenumeroushotels shouldbeused,USATAEKWONDOstronglystressestheneedforawiderangeofcostand amenitiesprovidedbyhotelslocatedincloseproximitytothecompetitionvenue.Itisvery importantthatthecontracteddailyratebethelowestavailableduringthetimeoftheevent. Hotelsnotwithinwalkingdistancetothecompetitionvenueshouldprovidediscounted transportationoptionsfortheparticipants. Inchoosingtheprimaryhosthotelfortheevent,USATAEKWONDOwillneedonehotelfor VIPs,staff,tournamentcommittee,andreferees. Thefollowingwillbeconsideredwhenchoosingahosthotelfortheevent: A.HEADQUARTERSHOTEL InchoosingaheadquartershotelfortheUSATNationalChampionships,thehotelshouldbea threetofivestarhotelwithintwoblockwalkingdistancetothecompetitionvenue.Ifthe venueisnotwalkingdistance,transportationtoandfromthehotelmustbeprovidedeitherby thehotelorbytheLocalOrganizingCommittee(SportsCommissionorCVB).Inaddition, transportationtoandfromtheairportmustbeprovidedtoallparticipantsandcoaches.This hotelwillactastheprimaryhotelforregistrationandmeetingsleadinguptotheevent. GuestroomsforUSATAEKWONDOneedsshouldbeavailablefromtwodayspriortotheevent totheconclusionoftheevent.Inordertobeconsideredastheheadquartershotel,thehotel willneedtoprovidethefollowingtotheUSATAEKWONDOatnoadditionalcharge: 1. TheLocalOrganizingCommittee(LOC)willberesponsibleforadditionaldutiesoncethevenue andhotelarrangementshavebeentakencareof.Inanefforttoprovidethebeststaffing supportpossible,USATAEKWONDOstronglyencouragesthepartnershipbetweenthebidding organizationandalocalTaekwondoschool.TheabilityfortheLOCtogathersufficientstaffing fortheeventisveryimportanttotheoverallsuccessoftheevent,thehostcity,andUSA Taekwondo. 1.VolunteerCoordinator:ThispersonshouldbetheleadfortheLOCincoordinating volunteersandstafftohelpruntheeventandregistrationprocedures.TheVolunteer Coordinatorwillberesponsibleforrecruitingandschedulingvolunteerswhereandwhen neededasthejobassignmentsdictateasprovidedbytheUSATAEKWONDO.TheVolunteer Coordinatorisalsoresponsibleforhelpingtorecruitmedicalvolunteersforthedurationofthe event.TheVolunteerCoordinatormustbeonsiteduringregistrationandthecompetitionto monitorthevolunteerregistration. 2.SetupandTeardownStaff:Thisgroupshouldconsistof2030peoplewiththeabilitytolift andcarryheavyobjects.USATAEKWONDOstronglysuggestsrecruitingthehelpoflocal Taekwondoschoolsandorganizationstoaidinthisprocess. USATAEKWONDOwillprovide2staffmembersfromtheTournamentStafftocoordinatethe volunteersandgroupsrecruitedtohelpwithlayingofthemats.Thesetupcrewwillalsobe responsibleforhangingbannersandtapingofthemats. 3.MediaandPublicRelationsCoordinator:ThispersonwillactasaliaisonbetweentheUSA TAEKWONDOEventsDepartmentandthemediaoutletsinthehostcity.Thispersonsmain responsibilityisaidingtheUSATAEKWONDOEventsDepartmentinmaximizinglocaland nationalpublicityandmediacoverage. 4.SecurityCoordinator:Thispersonwillbetheprimarycontactregardingthesecurity/staffing needsifthefacilityisnotinchargeofcoordinatingeventstaffing.Thispersonwillworkclosely withtheUSATaekwondoEventManager/Director. 5.EventManager:ThispersonwillbetheprimaryliaisonbetweentheSports CommissionandCVBtohandlethedetailsneededinregardstorestaurants,logistics, transportation,andotherneedsthatmayariseinpreparationandcoordinationoftheevent.

USATAEKWONDOiscurrentlyacceptingbidsforthe2015andbeyondUSATAEKWONDO NationalChampionships.Priortosubmittingabidfortheseevents,pleasereviewandinspect thenecessaryrequirementsassetforthinthebidpacket.Pleasefollowtheinstructionsbelow inordertoguaranteeyourorganizationandcitymeetalldeadlinesandadheretothe proceduresnecessarytosubmitacompletebid. 1. ReviewandinspecttheBidManualtogetagreaterunderstandingofthehosts responsibilitiesoncesubmittingabidandfurthermoreoncewinningthebid.Itwillbe presumedbyUSATAEKWONDOthatuponreceiptofaformalbid,thebidding organizationhasreadandfullyunderstandsthetermsthebidderispreparedtoassume. 2. TheBidSchedule,asoutlinedintheBidManual,shouldbestrictlyfollowed.Thebidding organizationisalsourgedtosubmitaproposalformorethanoneyearandUSA TAEKWONDOevent(USATNationalChampionships,U.S.OpenTaekwondo Championships,etc.).USATAEKWONDOSgoalinselectingcitiestohostUSA TAEKWONDOistochoosethecitieswiththecapabilityofhostingtheeventtwoyearsin arow. 3. Uponcompletingsitevisitstothefinaltwocities,theUSATAEKWONDOEvents DepartmentwillanalyzeeachbidandmakeallrecommendationstotheCEO/Executive Director.OncethedecisionhasbeenmadetheUSATAEKWONDOEventsDepartment willnotifyallcandidatesofthedecisionandproceedtothecontractphaseofthe partnership. 7.
