ZIGBEE : Advanced Encryption Standards Engine BITS Pilani

• Hardware implementation of AES Encryption (128) Standard engine..
• Work was to aimed at aiding the low power wireless sensor network according to ZIGBEE.
• MAC layer security suites supported by AES.
• Low memory usage by dynamic data generation at each step of the algorithm.
• Developed the complete engine by coding in Verilog.

Design and Implementation of a RISC processor BITS Pilani

• Aim was to develop a low power processor.
• Coding was done in Verilog for various modules.
• Magma tools were used to do the timing analysis.
• The entire code was downloaded onto an FPGA to check the functionality.
• Secured ‘A’ Grade which is the highest Grade possible for the project and carried a weight
of 5 credits towards calculating my final CGPA.

Academic Achievements
• Accepted for the Undergraduate Programme at BITS Pilani. (Acceptance rate in
BITS is very low and the student selectivity < 2.08% in 2007. An average acceptance
rate of 2.9 per cent, which compares favorably with its 96.3 % normalized cut-off in
2003.)
• Batch Topper with a 10/10 GPA in the 8th semester during my course-work in
BITS Pilani 2007-2008. Highest possible GPA in the 8th semester in a batch of 900
students.

• Recipient, Pratibha Scholarship Awards 2004; Was awarded the prestigious Pratibha
Scholarship Award in 2003 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for academic
excellence in the State’s Higher Secondary Education Curriculum and performance in
various National-Level common entrance tests.
• State 11th Rank, 11th and 12th Intermediate Public Examinations - Andhra Pradesh,
20021– 2003. The aggregate score achieved was 974/1000. This was the 11th highest
overall mark obtained in the entire state. Around 13 lakh candidates appeared for this
examination.

• College Campus Topper, 11th and 12th Intermediate Public Examinations - Andhra
Pradesh, 2001 – 2003. A total of 200 students from Nalanda Junior College ( IIT-JEE
Campus) appeared for IPE 2001 – 2003. This was the 4th overall mark obtained in the
entire college of around 8000 students.

• Promotion within 2 years of joining IBM. Joined IBM during September 2007, and was
one of the very few people to be promoted to a higher band level within 2 years of joining the
company. Was ranked high by the Manager and the team in areas of team-building, team-work and
communication.

• Vice President, Blue Expression Toastmasters Club, IBM. Toastmasters Club is an


international movement that encourages people to inculcate communication and leadership skills.
Helped charter a new Toastmasters’ Club in IBM Manyata Business Park Campus, Bangalore.

• Secretary/Treasurer and Volunteer, FOCA-Friends for a Cause. This is a group of


closely knit people working towards a humane society where harmony prevails. We
believe in creating a society where all individuals are able to realize their fullest potential
and are Self-reliant. (1) Instrumental in driving this non-formal group towards registering
as a recognized NGO. (2) Organized painting competitions for children from different
special (deaf/dumb/dropouts/orphans) schools and other orphanages in Bangalore. Part
of a team of 5 that organized this painting competition in which almost 80 children
participated.

• Senior Core Member, Department of Sponsorship and Marketing at BITS Pilani.


(1) Worked in a team of 40 students towards generation of a record sponsorship amount
of Rs.23 lakhs for the Institute’s Cultural festival OASIS (12 lakhs) and the Technical
festival APOGEE (11 lakhs). Around 1200 participants from colleges all over India
participate in OASIS while APOGEE attracts around 700 participants from colleges all over
India. (2) Conceptualized the idea of simplifying communication during a cultural festival
by the use of a unique SMS portal and oversaw its implementation during OASIS 2005
and 2006. (3) Helped organize several Invited Lectures & Panel Discussions during
APOGEE 2007.

• School Pupil Leader, NSM Public School. Chosen by the Principal of the school and a

Panel of senior Teachers to lead a 16 member student school cabinet of N. St. Mathews
Public School, Vijayawada, 2000-2001. Proudly represented the School Flag in all the
inter-school and intra-school events. Was responsible to lead a team of students to take
part in the prestigious Montfort Sports and Games Competitions (Annual Sports Meet of
the Montfort Institutions) as well as the Montfort Literary and Cultural
competitions(Annual Event), where about 8-12 schools with over 500 students
participated.

Mathews Public School, 1999-2000. Lead a team of students to take part in various
sports and games activities as well as literary and cultural events.

Samajh, Orissa association in BITS Pilani) for the year 2004-2005. Organized a

Co-Curricular Achievements
• Best Application Project (Overall), APOGEE 2005. Won the First Prize in the ‘Project
with the Best Application” category during APOGEE 2005, an all India intercollegiate
technical festival of BITS Pilani. Devised a Labview model with 2 other team members for
a remote laboratory. Using this model, one could perform simple laboratory experiments
remotely without being physically present in the lab. This same project was improved and
it again won the Best Application Project during APOGEE 2006 also.

• Certificate of Honor, Instrumentation Forum, BITS Pilani 2005. Was awarded the
certificate of Honor by the Instrumentation Forum, BITS Pilani in 2005 for exhibiting
innovative skills in working for the project title ‘Remote Labs’ for APOGEE 2005.

• Second, QUINTRONICS- The Electronics Quiz, APOGEE 2005. Secured Second Place
in ‘Quintronics’ the electronic quiz competition during APOGEE 2005. This competition
boasts of participation by over 50 participants from nearly 15 schools.

• Second, VIRTUOSITY, APOGEE 2005. Secured the Second Place in the Virtuosity
competition during APOGEE 2005, which showcases the use of the LABVIEW tools, by
National Instruments.

• Second, QUINTRONICS- The Electronics Quiz, APOGEE 2006. Secured Second Place
in ‘Quintronics’ the electronic quiz competition during APOGEE 2006. This competition
boasts of participation by over 50 participants from nearly 15 schools.

• Award for General Proficiency, NSM Public School, 2001. Won the ‘General
Proficiency’ award for the year 2000-2001 , N St. Mathews Public School. This award is
given to a single student in every class every year based on his/her performance
amongst his class in various activities ranging from sports to literary and cultural events

BITSAA Silicon Valley Chapter.

• Volunteer, On-Demand Community, IBM. Active volunteer in the IBM On-Demand


community, which is an IBM Global initiative towards Corporate Social Responsibility.

• Volunteer, Hemophilia Society of India (HFI, Bangalore Chapter). Volunteer with


HFI Bangalore in organizing their regular awareness camps and other medical camps.
Interacting with children and other patients and help spread awareness about the
condition.

• Volunteer, Dream A Dream. Dream A Dream is a NGO that aims at working with not so
privileged children in our society. This NGO aims at empowering vulnerable children in
our society by developing life skills, and sensitizing the community through active
volunteering. As volunteer, helped organize the annual summer camp for the children
“Dream Summer Camp -2008” and worked with international volunteers to achieve the
central aim of the organization.

SKID to help the teachers on Saturdays to teach the special (deaf/dumb) children. Help
the children in understanding curriculum that varies form science to computers.

Workplace, BITS Pilani 2004. Volunteered for the BITS Languages Group to help
organize and conduct the National Seminar on meeting Communication Challenged at
Workplace during September 2004.

• Volunteer, Elite Athlete Management, Sunfeast World 10K Marathon, Bangalore.


Volunteered in the ‘Elite Athlete Management’ section for the Sunfeast World 10K
marathon that was held in Bangalore during May 2008. Had an enriching experience in
dealing with all the International Athletes, likes of Paul Tergat, who were present to
participate in the event. Was nominated person in charge of the timing device data
collection responsible to take the official timings from the ‘timing booth’ to the official
scorers/announcing booth.

• Organizer, Oasis 2003 through to 2006. Oasis is the annual cultural festival of BITS
Pilani. This festival is one of the most awaited festivals across Universities. About 1200
students from nearly 70 different colleges participate in this event. Worked as a
volunteer, Group Leader, Core Member and Senior Core Member for the Department of
Sponsorship and Marketing for Oasis 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively. Involved
in creating Sponsorship brochures and talking to various companies to get sponsorship
for the event. Was responsible for setting up the Sponsorship & Marketing Booth
throughout the events where certain activities like sale of tickets for various events and
sale of souvenir T-shirts and other merchandises were sold for visiting out-station
participants.

• Organizer, APOGEE 2004 through to 2006. APOGEE is the annual technical festival
of BITS Pilani. This festival attracts students from various Universities across the
countries, and brings students from different background who showcase their expertise.
