WASTE

For all Waste Services enquiries, please call 9492 0111 or visit the Citys website www.gosnells.wa.gov.au Useful information
1. The bulk waste collection service is offered to residential properties in the City of Gosnells. 2. The City intends to recycle e-waste, it would be appreciated if items could be placed in separate piles. 3. Be environmentally responsible and ensure that your fridges, freezers and air conditioners are properly degassed. 4. Setting out junk waste on the verge too early is a litter offence and may attract a fine, it also makes your City look untidy. 5. The European House Borer (EHB), a destructive pest of seasoned (dry) softwood timber, including pine, fir and spruce has been discovered in the greater Perth metropolitan area. It is usually found in the deadwood inclusion of live pine trees. However it can also be found in untreated structural pine timber and untreated pine furniture. To aid containment and eradication efforts, residents are asked to: Dispose of pine including firewood, off cuts, timber and furniture through the verge side collections, as local governments are educated in appropriate EHB disposal procedures. Not remove untreated pine from neighbourhood verges during kerbside collection times. For further information about EHB please call the Department of Agriculture and Food on 1800 084 881 or visit www.ehb.wa.gov.au.

Gas cylinders require special attention for safe and proper disposal and for safety reasons should not be placed out for collection. Should you need to dispose of a gas cylinder please contact your local gas cylinder stockist or distributor.
