EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report has been tailored and reviewed to examine the following job opportunities based on a questionnaire Yarimson Fofana has answered. The most important issues highlighted were on characteristics of the company along with their employees, location/ climate and international issues. The first job opportunity was for an anchor/ host to a Tribune Company in Los Angeles. This would be a nice fit for you because of the size of the city and it is a warmer climate area. You would not have to worry about the cold. The second job opportunity if for an night time on-air host for Clear Channel Communications which is located in Rockville, Maryland. The city is not as populated as Los Angeles it has about 63,000 people and does not have a warm climate like Los Angeles. This is a radio job where you do not have as much interaction with people and your hours are opposite so you would not have ample time to maybe do the things you would like. The last job opportunity was for BBC in Yorkshire, England. BBC seemed to have most of what you were looking for except for climate. The population is about 2 million and it is a very diverse community. Another pro was that it talks about international issues and reaches more than one city. From all that I have learned about you I would highly recommend the presenter job for BBC.

INTRODUCTION
This report is to find a job that is best suited for you and your needs. I have researched the three jobs that you were most interested. I looked at location, BFOQ/ requirements and responsibilities the job requires of you. I tried to focus more on the aspects that would be more important to you as a person and to see if they fit into what your values are. The things that seemed to be the most important to you were that if the company fit well with your values and the people who you would be working, international issues, and you would prefer living in a big city rather than a small one. Climate should be warm more than cold since you are used to warmer weather.

COMPANY ANALYSIS

ANCHOR HOST FOR TRIBUNE COMPANY

Brief Summary

The Tribune Company is a number one news morning program located in California. The KTLA 5 Morning News is the signature broadcast for the Tribune Company. The company is currently seeking a new face for their morning news show. Location The Tribune Company is located in sunny Los Angeles, California. KTLA broadcasts to the entire city of Los Angeles, a population of almost 4 million people. BFOQ/Requirements The Tribune Company is requiring applicants to have a college degree or the equivalent of a college degree. The applicant needs at least three years of reporting for a major market. He/she needs to have anchored a regularly scheduled news broadcast or hosted a show on a commercial or public television station. Teamwork and communication is a major factor that is required when applying for this job. Responsibilities The Tribune Company is seeking individuals who are dynamic, innovative, and a team player. The ideal candidate will continue the legacy of the KTLA 5 Morning News and be part of the heart and soul of the company. The candidate will be responsible for being a presenter of information on the news and covering new stories. The applicant must be a strong news anchor and be an expert at breaking news while portraying feeling and emotions during the broadcast. The applicant must be able to write and proofread stories along with reading newspapers and magazines to stay informed on current events.

NIGHT TIME ON-AIR HOST

Brief Summary Clear Channel Communications, Inc. is the worlds largest radio and outdoor advertising company. They are also one of the most innovative media players in the market today who pride themselves in the ability to converge media space and build positions in the HD arena. Clear Channel Communications, Inc. is currently seeking a nighttime on-air host for their radio show. Location Clear Channel Communications, Inc. is located in Rockville, MD. Rockville is located in the center of Maryland and is part of the Baltimore metropolitan area. The population is 63,000 and currently has a low unemployment rate. BFOQ/Requirements The applicant must have at least three years of on air radio experience and be familiar with NexGen, Vox Pro, and Pro Tools. Knowledge of the FCC rules and regulations are a strong requirement. The candidate must be engaging on the air and be able to provide the listening audience with compelling content. Strong work ethic, punctuality, and being a team player are all strong skills that will be assessed. The candidate must be available at all times with the possibility of being on call for disasters, breaking news, or acts of nature. Responsibilities The candidate must be able to participate in required station programming, promotions, and sales staff meetings. It is a must that the applicant makes regular approved

appearances at paid, and non-paid, station events. The applicant must be able to adhere to all current policies and procedures of the FCC as well as state and local laws. The applicant is responsible for being prepared for their shift with a creative and imaginative mind when it comes to writing and presenting his/her on-air material. The use of an upbeat and relatable personality will be required at all times during the radio show. The applicant will be responsible for having their own website and keeping that website updated. One of the most important responsibilities for this career is being an ambassador for the radio station and having a positive attitude when around listeners and clients.

PRESENTER AT BBC LOOK NORTH

Brief Summary Look North is a news station that provides news to almost 2.5 million people each week. BBC Look North is the most watched news program in Yorkshire, England. Look North also provides news for Leeds, Sheffield, and Bradford in the UK. Look North has won awards from the Royal Television Society for having excellent and original news coverage and journalism. Location BBC North is located in Yorkshire, England. The population is 2 million and is a very busy city in England. Yorkshire is located in the northern part of England, hence the name Look North for their news program. BFOQ/Requirements

The applicant for this position must be an experienced journalist and accomplished news presenter. The job requires the applicant to have previous experience of doubleheaded presentation. The candidate must have good editorial judgment and will be expected to conduct live or recorded interviews with guests. The applicant must turn in a 5 minutes showreel, which demonstrates his/her presentation and broadcasting skills. Knowledge of social, political, and economic skills is also a must. Responsibilities The applicant will be responsible for working alongside with Harry Gration and Paul Hudson, two of the most well known broadcasters in Northern England. The applicant must have proper knowledge of Yorkshire and the audience the news is directed at. He/she must be able to present during the 6:30 PM news program five days a week and the 1025 PM bulletin twice a week. The applicant must be able to communicate with guests or members of the public in a positive and natural manner. He/she must use professionalism on a daily basis and adhere to BBC editorial and legal guidelines.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

After researching and learning about the possible job positions that you could apply for, my recommendation for you would be a presenter at the BBC Look North. I have decided this because it seems to be the best fit for you and what is important to you as a person. It matches your goals of covering international issues, England is a big city full of interesting new people of all different backgrounds, also the broadcast reaches multiple cities. The only downfall would have to be that it is not of a warmer climate but, England is not as cold as North Dakota. All in all the pros out way the cons.
