If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job. The philosophies from the book that suit me best are idealism and pragmatism. Idealism is the only true reality, the only thing worth knowing. Pragmatism, the universe is dynamic, evolving. Purpose of thought is action. Truth is relative. These are the philosophies that best suit me in many ways. The first one that suits me is idealism. This one reminds me of me because idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self, always searching for what they can do to better themselves. Idealists are sure that friendly cooperation is the best way for people to achieve their goals, and I feel that if everyone cooperates then the job gets done faster. That is why I believe that idealism reminds me of me. Pragmatism reminds me of me because it shows the consequences of actions, to determine the moral goodness or badness of the causing actions. Truth is the most important thing and I live by that standard every day. Truth is the instrument or tool by which human beings solve their problems, and it changes as their knowledge and problems change. highest priority over tasks or projects. Teachers would teach in lectures, but would have the students interact and have discussions on those lectures. Idealism is the philosophy that states this. I learn best by visual aids. I have discovered that when I can see the item and touch I learn better. I learn better when I can have a discussion on what I am learning. That is shown in idealism. I think that there are a lot of students that learn this way and it would make things easier for them. Philosophies are important because they are what you believe. I think that in order to be an effective teacher I have to follow my beliefs. Idealism and pragmatism are going to be the ways that I teach the children in my class. I am going to get to know my students and learn to form my teaching to the way that they learn. I am going to take time and make sure that I can teach all my children effectively.
