INVITATION

Small Arms Policy and Practice: Bridging the Research-Policy Divide Wednesday, 8 January 2014 1500 1645 Auditorium A2, Maison de la Paix Chemin Eugne-Rigot 2, Geneva The Small Arms Survey is pleased to invite you or your representative to the seminar Small Arms Policy and Practice: Bridging the Research-Policy Divide. This event will mark the launch of a new book Controlling Small Arms: Consolidation, Innovation and Relevance in Research and Policy i (published November 2013, Routledge). We shall use the occasion to reflect both on the relationship between research and policy in meeting the challenges posed by small arms and light weapons over the last 15 years, and on the challenges for research and action for the coming period. It is fitting that this event is being held in Geneva, home to significant initiatives on small arms and light weapons and on armed violence, both in the area of research and in policy. Coming in the run-up to the 4th Biennial Meeting of States on the UN Programme of Action in June 2014, this event also presents an opportunity to look at the evolving nature of small arms-related issues, and what is required for an effective response. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us for this seminar on 8 January. We would be grateful if you could let us know if you or your representative will be able to attend. Please confirm attendance on http://doodle.com/pbuzrcibtgs3bg4x. Thank you. Yours sincerely,

Professor Keith Krause Programme Director Small Arms Survey
