AIR TO WATER HEAT PUMPS

Hot water and comfortable ambient temperature all year round

HEAT PUMP PRINCIPLE

REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS WITH ENERGY EFFICENT SOLUTIONS

Heat pumps use mainly ambient air for the production of domestic heating. This source of renewable energy reduce the overall energy consumption and minimize the amount of CO2 emissions.

CARRIER. A UNITED TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY

Whether you need air conditioning for a new building or a refurbishment project, for a commercial centre, an oce application or an industrial process, Carrier can oer you a wide range of solutions to meet your needs from liquid chillers/heat pumps, fan coil solutions, air treatment/ handling solutions right through to standard and tailormade system controls. Carrier provides heating, ventilating and air conditioning solutions for optimised individual customer comfort.

OUR MISSION IS TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

T EU is committed to reducing The ts overall emissions to at least 20% t below 1990 levels by 2020, and is b re eady to scale up this reduction to as much as 30% under a new global a climate change agreement when c other developed countries make o comparable eorts. c It has also set itself the target of increasing the share of renewables in energy use to 20% and increase energy eciency by 20% before 2020.

FAN COILS

THE IDEAL SOLUTION

XP Energy heat pump system is designed to satisfy dierent applications (new houses or renovation) and dierent conditions (one zone, two zone, sanitary hot water production).

T Terminal fan coil distribute the heat or cold air in the ambient. Its fan speed can be a re egulated to match user personal needs.

UNDER FLOOR HEATING

W Water circuit run in underoor pipes. With this system heat energy (radiant W heat and heat conduction) is diused h evenly in the indoor. Using the heat e pump in cooling mode the same circuit p o cool the indoor ambient in summer period.

The hot water stored in the tank is kept in temperature using the heat generated by the heat pump. The electrical heating is used only whenever there is a peak request for o hot water. h Dierent tank type size are available to D adapt to any domestic need. With the a anti-legionella feature included the system a will periodically heat over 70C to prevent w bacteria formation. b T user friendly interface is placed in the The hydronic module. Provide triple function, h nstallation parameters and setpoints, n user selectable programs and scheduled u operation, system monitoring and self check o diagnosis. d

SWIMMING POOL HEATER

Heat pumps have spare capacity available in the intermediate season which can be used to heat a swimming pool without altering the comfort in the house. This heat exchanger is designed to recover this capacity.

ULTRA PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Conversely to standard thermostat that cannot avoid temperature uctuation. Carrier have developed and adaptive control which calculate also the inertia of the building. Its powerful software elaborate the signals coming from the sensors and adjust the operating parameters accordingly. The result is the optimal room temperature maintained constantly in every condition.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE LOW TEMPERATURE

Using low temperature emitters increases the eciency of the system. As you can see in the graph the performance of the Heat pump (COP) is not constant. It is measured at a rating point for system reference, but it increases when the temperature of the water circulating in the system is low.

THE RIGHT SYSTEM

The XP Energy heat pump solution is a cost eective choice in the long run, even in the areas with low temperature in winter time. In these condition the heat pump operation, depending on the type of system installed can be: Mono-energetic or bi-valent. MONOENERGETIC SYSTEM

Therefore by selecting a low temperature emitter like the Carrier fan coils youll increase the eciency, reduce the energy consumption and shorten the overall pay back time.

Carrier XP Energy Two zone system gives the possibility to distribute the water at dierent temperature, based on the emitters demand and the signals coming from the temperature sensors.

BIVALENT SYSTEM

LONG PIPE RUNS AND FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION Outdoor units have long pipe runs (up to 70 m) and pipe elevation (30 m) therefore can be placed in the best suitable spot of your home, without aectign the system performance.

HYDRONIC MODULE
XP Energy hydronic module ensures a high level of comfort and energy saving. It is designed to t in a standard kitchen cabinet. Its main functions is to integrate dierent components, including the possibility to connect solar panels.

USER INTERFACE

CONDENSING UNIT
INVERTER TECHNOLOGY ADVANCED SYSTEM ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT Two distinct electronic management logics optimise individual well-being with minimum energy consumption: Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) of direct current to generate maximum power for the compressor at start-up and in peak load conditions. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of direct current optimises compressor eciency once the preset temperature has been reached, ensuring optimum comfort while saving energy. DC TWINROTARY COMPRESSOR Two rotary compression cylinders, oset from each other by 180, and a DC brushless motor with the shaft in perfect balance are used to reduce vibration and noise, even when operating at very low speeds.

The electronic control manage two independent temperature zone with their own programmable temperature settings. Calculates also the thermal inertia of the house as well as the evolution of the outdoor air temperature to create the required level of comfort. The two zone hydro module includes a 25 liters buer tank.

ECO COMFORT

LOWAMBIENT PERFORMANCE For the comfort of end-users, these heat pumps can work in extreme temperature conditions from 15 C to 46 C outdoor temperature.

LOW SOUND LEVELS XP Energy systems are very quiet. The outdoor units components drastically reduce any possible noise: fully insulated compressor, twin rotary cylinder shaft, component vibration suppression, fan design.
