Dear fellow staff member,


Pressalit Care is a division of the Pressalit Group. This means we are all members of a fellowship. This fellowship has four fundamental values: We listen. We give. We play. We act. Being part of the Pressalit Group is a pleasure and a strength. But even though Pressalit Care is a part of something larger, we also have our own identity. We operate in a very special market that makes very special demands. This can be felt on our products and in the knowledge we very naturally build into them. But it is also necessary to feel we are something very special when we communicate with the stakeholders who comprise our universe. Therefore, we must pause a moment and consider our major vision, the basis of our business and, not least, the values and competencies that characterize Pressalit Care. In this booklet, we have described the basis of our division. We do not come from nothing. We are a product of our history, yet also a result of the demands of the future. Our experience and our knowledge of developments provide us with a basis to go far. And we will go forward together. If you are in doubt about anything, look it up in this booklet. In it, you will find the Pressalit Care constitution. You will not find the answers to everything far from it. But the booklet will remind you of the basis on which you should develop your own solutions our way.

We have consciously set a very ambitious goal for Pressalit Care: we will be the best in the world in the field of care that deals with helping people to overcome physical limitations. Less is not enough. If we are going to sell products, it is important that our surroundings know how good we are. We want to be perceived as being the best as being the authorities in the care market. In our world architects, health personnel and users we want to be the care company that commands the most respect. The way in which we are perceived by our surroundings is the only thing that determines the strength of our position and how strong it will be in future. All attitudes to Pressalit Care are brought together in our brand. Everything we do either adds value to our brand or reduces its value, and thus the value of our company. Because everything we do communicates. This is the thought behind the brand. As our vision is so ambitious, we will focus on the bathroom itself as a short-term goal. In the first phase, Pressalit Care will be the provider of totalsolutions in bathrooms on the project market. In the second phase, we will also be total-solution providers in bathrooms on the private market. As ambassadors of persons with physical limitations, we will, in the long term, work on integrating our knowledge of design and layout in other rooms of the house. This requires a great deal of us all for development, for production, for sales, for marketing, and for administration. We can achieve our goal only if every link of the chain is strong, and only if we act. Because turning a vision into reality requires action.

There is a considerable distance from the mission to the vision. The management is responsible for keeping our sights fixed on the long-term goal. Together, and individually, we are responsible for living up to and using our special core values and the competencies that make us a strong division.

Pressalit Care is an independent division. We have our origins in Pressalit, but are today 00 pct dedicated to living up to our own mission. Our focus is solely on care. Each day, each and every one of us performs to the best of our ability. That is all we do. For it is the only way we can compensate for physical limitations to the maximum.

Expertise
The care market is very complex, and requires deep knowledge and expertise. We have this knowledge and expertise. And we know it is us who are ahead. Therefore, it is also us who must pioneer new territory and set new standards.

Internally this means Pressalit care is alive with commitment, enthusiasm and happiness. A workday must be a good and enjoyable day, during which we keep each other focused on our vision. Here, everyone is responsible.

Internally this means we are never satisfied with solutions that are second best. We constantly pursue improvement within development, production, marketing and sales. Throughout.

Externally this means customers and others with whom we are in contact, can always expect to meet top professional and committed representatives of Pressalit Care. It must be obvious that we are 00 pct dedicated to the task.

Externally this means we can always give the advice that makes the distinctive difference the advice that makes customers say "good idea, I hadnt thought about it like that." No, but we have. Because, in the final analysis, it is our job to think for our customers. And to signal that we safeguard the users interests.

We understand what is happening around us. Because we are interested. Because we use the time that is necessary to put ourselves in other peoples places. These can be colleagues, users, helpers, architects, etc. Everyone has different needs. We seek to fulfil them.

Simplification
The care market is complex. Not least for those who are only in occasional contact with it. We work intensely with the difficult aspects to make it easy for others. Therefore, we pride ourselves on adjusting and simplifying products, solutions and messages. Simple solutions to complicated challenges this is Pressalit Care.

Internally this means we always respect and listen to each other. We help and advise each other when it comes to important decisions. Because we believe in ourselves and in each other.

Internally this means we always strive to do things better, simpler, and more efficiently. Our informal tone enables all processes to operate quickly and smoothly.

Externally this means we always listen to the world around us, and are in constant dialogue with it. This enables us to help users continue their lives despite their physical limitations.

Externally this means we can communicate in a language that is easily understood and relevant, so we can reveal and resolve customers problems as a dialogue among equals.

Development
The care market deserves more attention. Now we are going to do something both to develop better solutions in relation to physical limitations, and to develop our division. We want to see constant improvements and constant development with respect for the fact that we must earn money to maintain our financial independence.

Energetic action
We do what we are told and it is us who do the telling. Because we are not a division that waits. Our customers do not have time to wait. We are meticulous. This is necessary to be best. On the other hand, we do not make things more difficult than they already are. We gather the necessary information. We make the decisions shortly afterwards. And then we do things at once. This is how we maintain our competitive ability.

Internally this means we are going to put maximum efforts into focused product development. We are going to turn our knowledge into specific new initiatives.

Internally this means ... we make a conscious effort to help each other. Experienced staff members have a particular responsibility for training new colleagues, and ensuring that action is taken. Correctly and on time.

Externally this means we are ready and willing to take our share of the responsibility for operating and educating the entire care market. We lead the way, because we constantly develop and improve.

Externally this means we respond to all contacts courteously and immediately. If we lack information, we retrieve it as quickly as possible. Even if it is not something we normally work with.

The mission in practice


The flexibility of the Pressalit Care product range differentiates it from those of competitors. This flexibility is the best example of the close correlation between our mission and the way we design and develop products. By developing horizontally and vertically flexible solutions, Pressalit Care is able to compensate for physical limitations to the maximum. Every time Pressalit Care begins a project, our consulting and product recommendations are anchored in three main areas which have one thing in common: it is possible to compensate for physical limitations with a flexible solution.

Keep living
The user
We want to maintain personal mobility at the highest possible level for as long as possible. Well-thought-out and flexible design enables the user to manage situations in the bathroom better. At the same time, the user can feel safe and confident because Pressalit Care products are solid and stable.

The helper
Personal assistance in the bathroom is a must for the dependent person. The bathroom thus becomes a workplace for relatives or carers. We are convinced that good work positions and a suitably arranged workplace must be given high priority so work can be done at no risk to health and safety.

The room
The rooms we work with are often either too small or poorly arranged. Walls do not move, so our products must. The flexibility of our products optimizes the space and provides a more accessible and friendly environment for living and working.

Our history
It is 974, and the worst year ever for Pressalit. The energy crisis has had a negative effect on company finances. Pressalit is forced to put machine shop workers on part-time. Management does not want to fire anyone, and there is thus an acute need to get more work for the factory employees. At the same time, Mogens Boyter, the Managing Director, is especially interested in rehabilitation. Mr. Boyter meets Hanne Rasmussen who has recently graduated as an architect and has a great deal of professional knowledge and interest in rehabilitation products. Hanne Rasmussen joins the Pressalit staff. Here is a possibility to utilize the excess capacity in the machine shop. A small production of rehabilitation products begins. The foundation has been laid for what will eventually become Pressalit Care. 1978
The factory moves from Ry to Lystrup.

1980
Sales are slow. The factory moves back to Ry.

1989
New Rehab factory, new bracket factory, new machining factory, new design centre.

1994
Turnover reaches DKK 40 million. The factory employs 25. Johnny Carlsen is the General Manager.

1999
Rehab is relaunched with new design.

1978
BBC comes with a TV team when Rehab is introduced at a trade show in Brighton.

1986
Rehab turnover exceeds DKK 0 million. The export share is 80%.

1990
Pressalit Multi System is introduced at the Care and Hospital trade show.

1998
In Denmark Pressalit Care begins direct distribution to the plumbing sector.

2000
Pressalit Care becomes an independent division of the Pressalit Group.

1974
Hanne Rasmussen graduates from architect school. As her final project, she designs a bathroom for handicapped persons.

1974
Mogens Boyter discerns a market for rehabilitation products, and sees possibilities in Hanne Rasmussens interest in designing solutions for the handicapped.

1974
Hanne Rasmussen begins her work as designer at Pressalit.

1975
A washbasin wall bracket, a shower chair, and a raised toilet are launched under the name Pressalit Rehab.

1976
Pressalit begins actual production of rehabilitation products.

1998
The Multi grab rail system receives "Prix Hygine-Soin" award at "Autonomic 98" in Paris.

2001
The Basis for the future is introduced to the entire Pressalit Care staff in the Concert Hall in rhus.
