When working in confined space the following procedures must strictl adhered to$ % person who designs or manufactures a confined space shall ensure that the design eliminates the need for persons to enter a confined space& Where there is a need to enter the confined space the risks shall be minimised& The emplo er shall identif an confined spaces and identif ha'ards associated with those confined spaces and how those ha'ards are to be minimi'ed or eliminated& %ll confined space works shall be performed in accordance with the requisite standards& %ll persons required to work in confined spaces or outside confined spaces (centuries) must ha(e recei(ed training b a registered training authorit & % confined space permit s stem must be implemented& )ther permits ma be required before entering a confined space eg: hot work permit& The emplo er must complete entr permits& There must be a safe o* gen le(el and contaminants reduced to below rele(ant e*posure standards prior to entr into confined space& "egular monitoring must continue while the confined space is occupied& When working in confined spaces the risks of in+ur , greatl increases, from ha'ards such as noise, temperature, manual handling and trips and slips& !nsure workers understand the risks before entering confined spaces& !nsuring that the space has been properl classified& -a(ing a detailed plan of what work must be undertaken in confined space considering all safet and health ha'ards& .escription of what training workers must ha(e prior to being permitted to enter a specific space and to undertake the specific tasks& To station a trained manhole worker at e(er entr /e*it of manhole
