The Kerala State Electronics development Corporation popularly known as KELTRON , was established in 1973 as the first Electronics Development corporation in INDIA in the State Government sector .It flagged off an electronics revolution that was to spread through the entire country. Total Solutions Today, KELTRON is a multi-product, multi-unit organization with 7 manufacturing units under direct control, 7 subsidiary companies, 2 associated companies and 5 joint sector companies with an annual turnover of Rs. 200 crores. A highly decentralised operating philosophy was followed in restructuring the organization. Presently KELTRON - a multi-product, multi-unit organization with more than 3000 employees spread over the entire country is is re organized as 29 independent Strategic Business Units (SBUs) based on the product category and type of business it is engaged and each SBU is functioning as a self generating profit center at the root level headed by the SBU head. If more numbers of SBUs are functioning in one DIVISION / COMPLEX these SBUs are assaigned to that DIVISION . All the SBUs and divisions are functioning independently under corporate management.
