Dutch Fork Fox Cubs are asked to donate items to our mitten tree located in the cafeteria lobby. This is an annual service project in which students donate mittens/gloves, hats, scarves and socks to be hung on the tree. We can use any and all sizes (youth and adult). Musical Performances to Celebrate the Season

On Tuesday, December 10 at 6:00 p.m. our 2nd graders and 5th grade chorus will be celebrating this holiday season with a performance you wont want to miss! Our 2nd graders will be performing December Round the World which includes December customs from Mexico, Germany, Africa, China, and good old America! Immediately following the 2nd graders our 5th grade chorus will certainly get you in the Christmas spirit with this production of Santas Holiday Playlist. When Santas favorite Christmas album is ruined, the North Pole gang decides to introduce Santa to their music with the help of iPods, playlists, headsets, and docking stations. Come and join the fun as we try to bring Santa up to date!

Magnet School Informational Meeting

Parents: Please join us at 5:30 p.m. on December 10, prior to the 2nd and 5th grade musical performances to see a small presentation on what we will be offering next year at the Academy of Environmental Science at DFES. Our display will be set up in the foyer by the cafeteria. We are anxious to share all the good things happening at DFES!

The program is designed for artistically gifted and talented students who are rising sixth through ninth graders in the summer before the 2014-2015 school year. Students may audition in creative writing, dance, music (strings, vocal and wind/percussion), theatre or visual art. The Summer Program will be held from 9:00 am to 3:15 pm each day, June 30 July 19, 2014 on the campus of the Palmetto Center for the Arts (PCA) at Richland Northeast High School. July 4th will be a student holiday. Cost for the three weeks will be approximately $400.00. Arts teachers, classroom teachers, administrators or parents may nominate students. Nomination forms may be obtained from the principals office at district elementary or middle schools or by contacting the Gifted and Talented Coordinator in one of the three districts: Mrs. Erin Fitzgerald, Lexington One; Mrs. Tami Richardson, Lexington/Richland Five; or Dr. Maria Kratsios, Richland Two. Nomination forms and audition requirements for all art areas, along with general information about the Tri-District Arts Consortium are also available on our web site at www.tridac.org. The District Coordinator must receive all nominations by January 13, 2014. Applications will be sent to each student nominated. Spaces for qualified students from each district are limited. Auditions for Dance, Strings, Vocal, Wind/Percussion and Visual Art students will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Richland Northeast High School. Auditions for the areas of Creative Writing, Theatre and Visual Art students will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Richland Northeast High School. THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP AUDITIONS.
