Do we have a bedtime anymore?


Sleep in our society is considered a sign of weakness. The mentality, I need to do more in my day to get an advantage, has become the battle cry of the sick and obese.

If someone were to die due to the lack of essential elements that sustain life, the list would go as follows: 1) Air 2) Water 3) SLEEEP 4) Food We dont have a physiological adaptation for sleep like the others. Google this. Any disease + Sleep deprivation and you will soon realize the important role sleep has. Got the size 2 Blues? If you are trying to squeeze into those size 2s despite killing yourself in the gym and counting every calorie...it may be time to catch a few zzzs Concentrate!! The importance of Sleep Listen to your program When we dont sleep with the seasonal variations to light exposure we are fundamentally altering something that has been programmed in our physiology since day 1! The More the Merrier Getting more sleep has an ergogenic effect. On as little as 6 hours of sleep your psychomotor performance severally deteriorates. Studies have proven that athletes who received 10 hours sleep performed better in their respective sports.

Make Sleep a Priority!


As a nation, we are fat and diabetic because we dont sleep, and we are dying from cancer and other disease because we dont SLEEP! It has been proven that obesity and the major killers that are connected with obesity -heart disease, diabetes, and cancer-are caused by short nights, by working ridiculously long hours, by burning the candle at both ends, and by the electricity that gives us the ability to do it. I am not pulling this out of thin air, I can assure you that this has well over 2 decades of research backing it up.

When I talk to those who are concerned with health, I usually hear them tell me about what they are eating or how many times they visit their local gym. This is usually followed by, why cant I lose the weight?, or, why do I still feel lousy?, or, I cant seem to ght this cold? As you may have surmised I go to, the how much are you sleeping subject. Almost guaranteed, I will hear, Im a terrible sleeper, always have been. I can get by on 4-5 hours of sleep. Guess what? NO YOU CANT! You absolutely must make sleep a priority - these next 28 days, and the rest of your life depend on it! Here are some tips to make sure you get the best sleep.

Electricity - Who Knew it could harm us?

Caffeine effects the nervous system for up to 8 hours for every 100mg of caffeine (standard cup of coffee). * Exercising in the late afternoon or evening can be a problem for some people, since high-intensity exercise releases neurotransmitters that are stimulatory, and make it harder for some people to fall asleep.
