_______________________________________________________________________________ I) &#*+" ,#) Current JAA airworthiness requirements for the use of head-up guidance systems for approach and landing in low visibility can be found under JAA Interim Policies INT P!" A#! $ and INT P!" A#! %& These Policies refer to JA'-()*+ Papers ,-$ and ,-% which were developed in the early $,,-.s by a JAA ()* #or/ing 0roup and were endorsed by the JAA All #eather !perations Airworthiness +tudy 0roup 1A#! A+02& JA'-()*+ ,-$ and ,-% have been used for a number of JAA certifications to date and in light of this e3perience and JAA 4AA harmonisation activity5 several changes and improvements to their content have been identified& +ome of these changes have already been documented in JAA #or/ing Paper JA'-()*+ 6-& As stated in the JAA Interim Policy documents5 and to satisfy the ob7ectives of the A#! A+0 in creating a more generic set of requirements within JA' A#! 5 it is intended that Interim Policies INT P!" A#! $ and INT P!" A#! % and the associated changes resulting from certification e3perience5 will be incorporated into JA' A#! using the NPA process& This will lead to a simplification of certification tas/s associated with the airworthiness approval of head-up guidance systems for low visibility approach5 as well as providing a more generic set of airworthiness requirements within JA' A#! which currently only address autopilot and flight director systems& This NPA identifies the changes required to JA' A#! +ubparts$5 % and 8 to incorporate the content of JAA Interim Policies INT P!"
