The above temperature rises are for an ambient temperature of 40 degree centigrade. The temperature rises for other ambient conditions shall be modified accordingly. 6.2 7.0 7.1 The motors are required for outdoor installation and hence account shall be taken of heating due to direct exposure to solar radiation. CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES The motor construction shall be suitable for easy disassembly and reassembly. The enclosures shall be sturdy and shall permit easy removal of any part of the motor for inspection and repairs. Motors weighing more than 25 kg. shall be provided with eyebolts, lugs or other means to facilitate safe lifting The rotor bars shall not be insulated in the slot portion between the iron core laminations and the bars. The motors shall be of horizontal foot mounted type. The motors shall be designed to permit convenient access for drilling vertically through motor feet or mounting flange for installation of Purchasers dowel pins after motor are mounted with the driven equipment. BEARINGS Greased ball bearings or roller bearings shall be of reputed make subject to the PURCHASERs approval. The life expectancy of the bearings shall be stated. The bearings shall be so constructed that the loss of lubricating fluid is kept to a minimum and greasing shall be possible without any dismantling operation. The bearings shall prevent dirt and water from getting into the motor. Bearing lubricant shall not find access to motor winding. The bearings shall permit running of the motor in either direction of rotation. Lubricants shall be selected for prolonged storage and normal use of the motors in tropical climate and shall contain corrosion and oxidation inhibitors and free from water/ moisture contamination. Grease shall have suitable bleeding characteristics to minimise setting. TERMINAL BOX Stator leads shall be brought out to the terminal box as an insulated cable through a suitable barrier and terminated in a clamp type terminal. Terminal boxes shall be of weather proof construction designed for outdoor service, to eliminate entry of dust and water. Gaskets of neoprene or approved equivalent shall be provided at cover joints and between box and motor frame. The terminal box shall be suitable for top and bottom entry of cables. The terminal box shall be capable of being turned through 360 degree in steps of 90 degree. DATE:22-06-2006 ISSUE No: P0
