DRAFT National Seminar On Revisiting Education policy and the Role of Teachers in Education Development (6th to 8th December,

To _____________________ Date: Dear____________, The ILO in collaboration with Education International, UNESCO, and the University Teachers Associations is organizing a three-day seminar from 6th to 8th December 2013 at Asia Plaza Hotel, No.277. Bogyoke Aung San Road, Corner of 38th Street, Kyauktada Township, Yangon. We wish to invite you to attend the seminar. The Theme of the seminar is Revisiting Education Policy and the Role of Teachers in Education

Development.
The seminar will: 1) Discuss the UNESCO Recommendation Concerning the Status of Higher Education Personnel. 2) Consider the present consultation process underway in Myanmar on the need to review and modernize the education policy. (The outcome of the seminar will be submitted to the authorities as an input to the consultation process). 3) Consider issues relating to Freedom of Association, Labour Laws and other matters relating to the establishment of teachers organizations. Attached is a copy of the draft program. Participants will be provided travel and accommodation allowance as per attached. Please confirm if you would be attending the seminar by 1st December 2013.
