1.1. Institute Stipendiary Full Time Research Scholar (Course Code-11): These scholars are eligible for financial assistance in the form of teaching or research assistantships (referred as Institute Assistantship). The stipend for the assistantship is paid at the approved rates and guide lines as notified by AICTE/MHRD from time to time. Such students are expected to devote at least eight hours per week towards job(s) assigned to them by the department, which may include class work, evaluation of answer books and any other job as assigned by the department/institute. The assistantship shall be awarded to this category Ph.D. student on a semesterto-semester basis on the recommendation of DDPC and SDPC. The renewal of the assistantship is dependent on the satisfactory academic performance of the scholar and discharge of duties as assigned to him/her by the department. 1.2 Self-financed Full Time Research Scholar (Course Code-12): Self-financed full time research scholars will not receive any financial support from the Institute in any form (even not for attending conferences / seminars etc.).These candidates shall be available full time in the Institute and may use the facilities in the department Institute. 1.3 Sponsored Full-Time Research Scholars(Course Code-13): (a) These scholars usually receive financial support from AICTE under QIP scheme/Govt. Institution under study leave/ Govt. or Semi Govt. organization such as DST, CSIR, UGC, etc./Recognized R&D organization. Such a candidate must be sponsored by his/her employer and must have been in employment with the sponsoring organization for at least 2 years at the time of admission. Candidates in service are to be released on study leave or extraordinary leave from the organization for full time research work at the Institute and must furnish a sponsorship/No-objection certificate from the employer. (b) Foreign students may be sponsored by their Governments and awarded scholarship by Govt. of India, Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) and other such agencies/organisations. 1.4. Faculty/Sponsored Project Fellow of MNNIT Allahabad Part Time Research Scholars (Course Code - 14): This category refers to the candidates who are Faculty of the Institute/ Project Fellow working in the various sponsored research projects undertaken by the Institute. 1.5. Stipendiary Full Time Research Scholar under TE-QIP(Course Code-15): These scholars will get stipend through TE-QIP programme. All rule and regulations except scholarship will be same as for scholars under section 1.1. As per TE-QIP-II guidelines this assistance ship is for non-GATE students and in engineering disciplines only. Initially this fellowship will be awarded for a period of one year and with provision for extension to further two years depending upto continuation / availability of funds from TEQIP-II and performance of the scholar. The amount may be kept at par with regular institute scholarship viz. Rs.16,00.00 + HRA per month. Admission under this category will be based on written examination and interview.

2. Eligibility for Admission (i) The eligibility conditions given below are the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any requirements over and above these, subject to the approval of the Chairman, Senate. (ii) The Specified minimum marks/CPI (Cumulative Performance Index), referred to in subsequent sections, implies a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or CPI 6.5 at qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks will be relaxed as per the Government of India norms. (iii) Reservation in the programme will be done as per the Government of India rules. 2.1. Ph.D. in Engineering (i) The applicant must have a Master degree in relevant branch of Engineering/Technology with marks not below 60% or CPI 6.5. (ii) Applicant with a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Masters Degree in Science/Applied biological sciences/Computer Application or any appropriate discipline with a minimum of 75% marks or CPI 8.0 shall only be considered. 2.2. Ph.D. in Management (i) Applicants must have Masters Degree in Management/Technology/ Engineering/ Economics/ Commerce / Science / Computer Applications/Social Science with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CPI 6.5. (ii) Applicants with a Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks or CPI 8.0 shall be considered. (iii) A qualified Chartered Accountant having minimum three years of professional experience as practicing Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 60% marks at both graduation level, as well as CA examination. 2.3 Ph.D. in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) (i) Applicants must have Masters Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 60% Marks or CPI 6.5. (ii) Applicants with a Bachelors degree in Engineering/Pharmacy with marks not below 75% or CPI 8.0 shall only be considered. 2.4 Ph.D. in Geographic Information System (GIS) Cell (i) M.Tech. or equivalent in GIS & Remote Sensing/Civil Engineering/Computer Science and Engineering/ Electronics/Information Technology/Agriculture Engineering/Mining Engineering with minimum marks 60% or CPI 6.5. (ii) M.Sc. or equivalent degree in GIS & Remote Sensing/Applied Geology/ Geophysics/Geography/ Environmental Science/Computer Science or degree in Master of Computer Application with minimum marks 75% or CPI 8.0. (iii) Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum of 75% marks or CPI 8.0. Note: Where the eligibility qualification is Masters degree in Science/ Computer application / Commerce / Economics / English or any subject of Humanities or Life Sciences or Management, NET qualification is must for Institute Fellowship.
