EURO 20 NG DN 100
As they can shut off the flow of water through the pipeline, gate valves have the function of facilitating maintenance operations or extension work on systems for the replacement or servicing of components. In the event of a break or other problem occurring on a pipe, gate valves can be closed in order to limit the risks of flooding. Installed on grid systems with interconnections, gate valves act as flow sharing valves and are opened or closed to obtain balanced distribution at all points. Gate valves are also commonly used to protect other valve appliances or to allow their maintenance (control devices, air valves, fire hydrants, etc.).
EURO 20 gate valves can be installed: - on drinking water conveyance and distribution systems, - on irrigation systems, - on fire protection systems, - in water treatment plants, - in pumping stations, - on tanks, etc.. They are perfectly operational whether they are fitted in the horizontal, vertical or slant position and are now also available in motorizable or motorized versions. They are connected to the pipes by means of fittings, flange adapters or sleeve adapters. (See the complete range of couplings and fittings in the corresponding catalogues). The range of gate valves has recently been rationalized and completed with the addition of new accessories.

6 Operating stem, 13% chromium steel 7 Seal bush with 2 O-rings 8 Body/Bonnet EPDM seal 9 Dust seal
The original design of the bonnet, with the body-bonnet junction achieved without nuts or bolts, and the compression of a gasket give the EURO 20 gate valve a higher internal pressure resistance than is recommended by the applicable standards. The design and geometry of the gate have been modified (addition of gliders from DN 65 to 400, differently placed according to DN), significantly reducing friction between the gate and the valve body, preserving the integrity of the epoxy coating and of the elastomer in contact areas. A gate valve must be able to withstand severe service conditions. Every aspect of the design of the EURO 20 guarantees exceptional performance levels. Constant improvements to the product are aimed at increasing its field of use and further extending its service life.

Gate valves are shut-off devices which function in the fully open or fully closed positions.
Kv expresses the water flow rate in m3/h at a temperature of 20C through the valve, causing a pressure drop of 1 bar.

EURO 20 gate valves are pressure-tested on a hydraulic test bench before they leave the factory: Shell : Pressure resistance and leak tightness at 1.5 PFA (valve open), Seat : Leak tightness at 1.1 PFA (valve closed), Check on operating torque. EURO 20 gate valves comply with following standards: EN 1074 and ISO 7259. The face-to-face dimensions of flanged valves comply with series 15 and 14 of EN 558 and ISO 5752. The valves can be fitted between drilled flanges in compliance with standards EN 1092-2, ISO 7005-2. The valves are tested in the factory in accordance with standards EN 12266-1 and ISO 5208.
Marking of the body after casting, on the side of the gate valve: - DN (nominal diameter) - PN (nominal pressure)
