About the Author and Illustrator


Shelley Gill was one of the rst women to race in and complete the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. She is the author of many best-selling childrens books on Alaska and the Pacic Northwest. She lives in Homer, Alaska, writing books and working as a humpback whale researcher in Prince William Sound.

Robin James has illustrated more than 80 books, including all of the titles in the popular Serendipity series. She loves illustrating animals and is currently on the board of directors of Greyhound Pets, Inc. A native of the Pacic Northwest, she lives with her husband in Snohomish, Washington, along with a ock of pet chickens, a herd of horses, and a pack of greyhounds.
