Pursuant to Food & Agricultural Code $32003,all public poundsand shelters shall keep accurate recordson eachanimal takenup, medicallytreated, or impounded. We seeksuch inlbrmation for all shelters owned or operated by Animal Control, whetherin Hanford or elsewhere in the County: (1) Recordsof eachanimal takenin or impoundedlbr the calendar years2004 and 2005, and fbr 2006 throughthe dateof this request, and whetherthe animal was impoundedas a stray, an owner relinquished animal,or takenin in someother fashion. The recordsshouldbe those which specifythe datethe animal was taken in by the Animal Control, the breeddesignation listed by Animal Control personnel, and whetherthe animal was taken in alive, injured or deceased, and the dateof disposition(whetherby adoption,euthanasia or otherwise). Chameleon softwareprintoutsare acceptable. (2) For the recordsshowingthe final dispositionof eachanimal listed in response to Request No. l, above,provide all documents showingthe nameof the personwho euthanized the animal or the nameof the adoptingparty. (3) Recordsshowinga descriptionof any medicalcareprovidedto any of the animals listed in response to Request No. L (4) For eachpersonwho actedto euthanize an animal for the Animal Services Control Division fbr the period January1,2004 throughthe present, proof of any and all training nrovidedto that nersonin the euthanasia of animals

(5) For the period January1,2004 to the present, recordsshowingthe type of euthanasia drugsusedby the Animal Services Control Division, the manufacturer of eachdrug listed,any documents showingthe amountsof the drugsutilized, and any written policiesprovidedto Animal ServicesControl Division personnel concerning the use,storage, and recordkeepingfor euthanasia drugs. (6) For eachshelteroperated by Kings County Animal Control, provide all documents showingthe hoursof operationof eachshelterfor the period January1,2004 to the present.

As set forth in the GovemmentCode,you must respondto this request within ten days. Cost of copiescannotexceedthe "reasonable cost of copying" and cannotincludeadministrative or staff time. Please contactthis office as soonas the documents are readv.
