Synchronous Machine Parameters

Name Type Ur pUr Sr Cos(phi) Ufmax/Ufr xd sat. SMHPD SP SMHPD SMP SP SP Name of element. Applicable only with a Synchronous Machine library. The type may be chosen and the data can be transferred from the predefined library by pressing the button. Rated voltage in kV. Deviation in % if the generator voltage Ug is permanently higher than the rated voltage Ur. Only necessary for Short Circuit calculation by IEC60909 (2001). Rated power in MVA. Power factor. Ratio of highest possible excitation voltage to rated excitation voltage at rated load and power factor. Saturated synchronous reactance in % with respect to Sr and Ur. Recommended value: Turbo-SM: 120-270 Salient pole-SM: 70-130 Saturated transient reactance in % with respect to Sr and Ur. This value will only be used for Short Circuit calculations according to ANSI. Recommended value: Turbo-SM: (1.4-1.7)* xd" Salient pole with amortisseur (damper) winding: 20-45% Saturated subtransient reactance in % with respect to Sr and Ur. Recommended value: Turbo-SM: 9-22 (large values when large Sr) Salient pole-SM: 12-30 (large values if slow rotor speed with large Sr) Steady-state short-circuit current in kA of generator with compound excitation during 3phase short circuit. o Ikk=0: Generator with no compound excitation. o Ikk0: Generator with compound excitation. Ikk will be used to calculate the minimum steady-state short-circuit current for generators with compound excitation. Factor used for the calculation of breaking currents. o mue=0 : mue value will be calculated according to IEC standard. o mue0: mue will be set to the input value. Equivalent resistance of generator in Ohm. RG is considered for the calculation of all currents, except for the calculation of the peak current ip. For ip calculation, a fictive value according to IEC will be taken, no matter which calculation method is used (see Description of the Model (SC)). This fictive value for RG is also used for the calculation if RG is set to 0. Negative sequence reactance, given by x(2) = 0.5(xd"+xq") in %, with respect to Sr and Ur. Recommended value: x(2) = xd". Zero sequence reactance of the synchronous machine in % with respect to Sr and Ur. Recommended value: x(0) = (0.4-0.8)xd". Indicates whether the synchronous machine has an amortisseur (damper) winding. Indicates whether the synchronous machine works as motor. This input influences the minimum short-circuit current according to IEC909. Indicates the type of the synchronous machine (salient pole or round rotor). Indicates whether the machine is part of a power station unit. Indicates the type of earthing of the generator. For impedance earthing: Generator star point earthing resistance and reactance in Ohm. Portion in % of the earthing impedance is active.
