Message from Pastor Reid

Joyful Prayerful Thankful!
The Apostle Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was clear and to the point when writing to the early church. In his letter to the Thessalonica Church he penned the following words:

Prayer Concerns
Prayer Concerns in the Congregation
Ellen Price (110 Woodland Ave. Elon NC 27244 (508-0666) Ellen has several challenges. Pray for Gods direction as she addresses them. Homer Whitaker (1808 Rout Road Burlington NC 27217) (227-7778) Homer is recovering from an accident in his shop. Frances Woody (708 Kidd Drive Burlington NC 27217) Frances continues to make good progress in therapy. Becky Corbett (712 Jeffries Cross Rd. Burlington NC 27217 (421-9416) Becky is doing betterrelieved from much of the pain and discomfort. John and Janet Hughes (814 Scott Street Burlington NC 27217) (227-7252) Janet is recovering well in the wake of recent sickness but grieving the passing of her niece, Deborah Popham. Joe Walters (C/O Blakey Hall 501 Blakey Hall Lane Elon NC 27244) Joe is continuing in therapy.

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Joyful Prayerful Thankful!!! The approach we bring to life is directly linked to reality. This threefold perspective worked back then and still works today. Joyful speaks of the inner peace knowing God is in control. Prayerful speaks of the two-way line of communication we have with the Creator of the Universe we speak to God and God reveals Himself to us. Thankful speaks of what is rather than what is not the temptation to grumble, complain about what isnt reveals much, not the least of which is being thankful! The simplicity of the Christian faith is amazing in this threefold approach to life joyful, prayerful, and thankful! They stand alone but also build on each other. I choose to be joyful, even though there are times of sadness and grief. To remain in this joyful approach to life I pray pouring out my concerns to Him and at the same time knowing He is speaking to me and the situations I face. The end result of choosing a joyful approach to life, praying which gives me an avenue to speak with God and God to speak to me, gives me reason to thank God! How can we help but gives thanks to a God who has been, is, and always will be? Keep looking up Jesus is coming back. Your Pastor and Friend, Reid
