Introduction The KONGSKILDE Paragrubber ECO is a depth-loosening machine, which looses the soil up in 45-55 cm below the surface, without turning it. The loosening effect can be changed, by adjusting the loosening plates. The Paragrubber ECO can be used as solo machine with a single cage roller, a tandem cutter roller or with a hitched up PTO-implement; a KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow. In this way it is possible to loosen the soil and to prepare a seedbed in one pass. The Paragrubber ECO is a short machine. Because of this, and in order to avoid blockage, the Paragrubber ECO should be used in conditions with less organic residues left. To avoid damages the Paragrubber ECO should not be used in areas with many or large stones. Identification The specifications of the Paragrubber ECO are located on the type plate. This is located on the head stock near the fixation hole for the top link.

Please note the specifications from the type plate: Type: __________________________________ No.: __________________________________ Name of implement. EDP identification number. The serial number for the specific implement.

Safety General safety advice Before commissioning the Paragrubber ECO, read the operating instructions and safety advice. It is mandatory to stick to the safety advice and the warnings stated in the manual. The manufacturer declines any responsibility for accidents and damages to the Paragrubber ECO resulting from failure to apply safety advice. The Paragrubber ECO should only be used, maintained and repaired by persons, who are familiar with the safety advice and who are informed about the dangers. General safety advice and the regulations for the prevention of accidents must be observed. The safety instructions must be passed on to other users. Coupling and uncoupling Be careful when coupling or uncoupling implements to and from the tractor. Do not stand between tractor and the Paragrubber ECO when the tractor is moving. Fasten the implement only at the appropriate linkage points. Always fix weights correctly at the intended attachment points. Check and attach transport equipment, for example lighting equipment, warnings and possibly safety equipment. Observe the tractor's operating instructions. Three point hitch The attachment category for the three-point hitch on the tractor and the implement has to match properly, or the appropriate adjustments must be made. Before coupling or uncoupling implements to the three-point hitch, make sure any accidential lifting or lowering is prevented. While the implement is in transport position, ensure sufficient locking at the side of the three-point linkage. Operation Before each use, check the implement and the tractor as to their road and operational safety. Before starting work, familiarise yourself with all facilities and operating elements. It is too late to do so during work activities. Examine work surface for hidden obstacles, which could pose a risk (for example under-ground cables, pipes). Adjustments should only be made on the implement, when it is completely parked in working position and when the engine of the tractor is switched off. Remove ignition key and apply hand brake. Wear tightly fitting work clothes. Avoid loose clothes, which could be caught in movable parts. Wear strong shoes or preferably safety shoes. Unauthorised persons are not allowed to stay in the work area during work. No work is to be carried out, if there are unauthorised persons, especially children,

close to the Paragrubber ECO or in the danger zone of any collapsible parts without keeping a safe distance. It is prohibited to allow any person to ride on the Paragrubber ECO. Never work diagonally to inclines or slopes, where there is a risk that the tractor will overturn. Transportation by road/transport When using public traffic routes, observe the regulations specific to the particular country. Never use public roads, if the admissible transportation width is exceeded. The attachment of implements should not exceed the admissible total weight, the admissible axle load and the weight-bearing capacity of the tractor tyres. To ensure the ability to steer, the front axle load should always amount to at least 20% of the unladen weight of the tractor. Before driving Observe admissible axle loads, total weights and transport measurements. Performance, ability to steer and brake are influenced by attached or coupled implements and ballast weights. Ensure that there is sufficient ability to steer and brake. Before starting off and using the Paragrubber ECO, check the immediate area. Pay special attention to children and that there is sufficient visibility. For road transportation with the implement raised, lock the control valves of the tractor. During transportation Riding on the implement during work and transport is not permitted. Never leave the driver's cab during transportation. When driving around corners and bends take the extra width and/or the inertia of the Paragrubber ECO as well as any attached roller(s) or PTO-implement into consideration. After transportation Before leaving the tractor, set the implement down onto the ground, switch engine off, remove ignition key and apply hand brake. No one should stand between tractor and implement without securing the vehicle by the hand brake and/or a chock.

Maintenance Repairs, maintenance and cleaning work as well as the solving of functional faults should principally only be carried out, while the engine is switched off. Remove ignition key and apply hand brake. For maintenance on a raised up implement, always secure the Paragrubber ECO on suitable stands. When changing work tools, which have cutting edges, use suitable tools and gloves. Spare parts should correspond at least to the technical requirements defined by the manufacturer. Use only original parts. If a PTO-implement is connected, the safety instructions for the implement must also be followed.

Coupling of the Paragrubber ECO Ensure that during coupling of the Paragrubber ECO, no one is standing between the tractor and the implement. No one should stand in the operational range of the implement. The three-point attachment category on the Paragrubber ECO and tractor must match with each other. If they do not correspond, the three-point linkage on the tractor must be adjusted. Lower and upper links can be attached in different settings depending on the tractor and the desired working depth. For road transportation, the setting has to be adjusted in such a way that the implement cannot swing out sideways. Before coupling the Paragrubber ECO, it must be parked on firm and level ground. When using the Paragrubber ECO as solo machine or with a build on PTOimplement, the 2 supporting legs must be used to secure a safe parking. Uncoupling of the Paragrubber ECO When using the Paragrubber ECO with a single bar roller or with double cutter rollers, the pin for dept control must always be in the bottom position prior to parking.

When using the Paragrubber ECO with a PTO- implement, it must always stand save on the floor too before stopping and the 2 supporting legs must be used.

Operation Adjusting the shatter plates The angle of the shatter plates decides how much the soil is lifted. The shatter plates can be adjusted for each leg of the Paragrubber in the following way: Loosen the central bolt q Rotate the wedge until the shatter plate has the desired angle. Tighten the central bolt q again The more, the shatter plate is in line with the Paragrubber ECO leg, the less the soil is lifted, and the opposite. Larger lifting of the soil is used in softer soils.

The Paragrubber ECO as a solo machine When using the Paragrubber ECO as a solo machine, only raising or lowering the lift arms of the tractor controls the depth. Working with the Paragrubber ECO with a single or a double roller The Paragrubber ECO can be equipped with a single cage roller or tandem cutter roller for exactly depth guiding and reconsolidation of the soil surface. The cage roller guides the cultivator exactly in the adjusted working depth and offers a reconsolidation as well as levelling of the soil surface. Good suitable for lighter soil. The tandem cutter roller guides the Paragrubber ECO exactly in the adjusted working depth too, but it also takes on additional preparation of the soil surface in which clods are reduced to small pieces and organic residues are incorporated into the soil. This is suitable for heavy soil.

Setting the top position of the rollers by locking the square pin bolt in one of the 8 holes controls the depth.

8 holes for controlling depth when using single bar roller or tandem cutter roller.

Make sure to use the same hole in both sides of the Paragrubber ECO. Adjusting the tandem cutter roller The tandem cutter roller should be adjusted, so the front roller runs 10-20 mm higher than the rear one. This is made by adjusting the top links in each side of the machine.

Setting the direction of the cutter roller The Kongskilde cutter roller 550mm is useable in two directions of movement. 1. Passive direction, less soil cutting, more consolidation. 2. Active direction, more soil cutting, less consolidation. As standard all cutter rollers are mounted passive.

The sketch shows the setting. The arrow is indicating the direction of driving.

Consolidation

Cutting

If desired, the cutter rollers can be converted from passive to active and visa versa. This is done in the following way: Loosen the top linkage bolts and main fixation bolts in both sides of the roller frame. Reverse the entire frame with the rollers. Attach and tighten the linkage bolts and the main fixation bolts.

Working in combination with a KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow Paragrubber ECO can be combined with a KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow, which should have the same working width as Paragrubber ECO. With a long universal PTO-shaft, the KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow can be connected directly to the tractor. In order to connect a KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow, the special hitch (optional equipment) must be mounted on the Paragrubber ECO. The hitch is connected to the mainframe with 2 bolts (1 in each side)

Top linkage bolt

The bottom position of the hitch can be adjusted in 3 different levels by moving the square pin bolts. The bottom position of the hitch is controlled with locking the square pin bolt in one of the 3 holes.

Make sure to use the same hole in both sides of the Paragrubber ECO.
12

The working depth of the KONGSKILDE Rotavator or power harrow is adjusted about its grinding skids, stabilising wheels or the trailing roller. The working depth of the Paragrubber ECO is adjusted with the tractor 3-point hitch.

Important: It must be guaranteed in operation that the universal PTO-shaft does not collide with the frame of the Paragrubber ECO during operation. The lifting arms with the hooks must be adjusted in height appropriate to the size of the connected KONGSKIDE Rotavator or power harrow.

Transportation by road/traffic safety Traffic safety When using public traffic routes, observe the regulations applicable in the particular country! Weight The attachment of implements must not exceed the overall admissible weight, the admissible axle load and the weight-bearing capacity of the tractor tyres. To ensure the steering ability, the front axle load should always amount to at least 20 % of the unladen weight of the tractor. Before driving Observe admissible axle loads, overall weights and transport measurements! Road behaviour, ability to steer and brake are influenced by the attached or coupled implements and ballast weights. Ensure sufficient ability to steer and brake! Before starting to drive and use the Paragrubber ECO, check the immediate area. Pay special attention to children and that there is sufficient visibility! For road transportation with the implement raised, lock the control valves of the tractor. During transportation Riding on the implement during work and transport is not permitted. Never leave the drivers cab during transportation! When driving around corners and bends, take the extra width and/or the inertia of the implement into consideration. After transportation Before leaving the tractor, set the implement down onto the ground, switch engine off, remove ignition key and apply hand brake! No one should stand between tractor and implement without securing the vehicle by the hand brake and/or a chock! Transportation width For transportation on any public road, track or place, the legal transport according to local regulations should not be exceeded. If the transport width is exceeded, a special authorisation may be obtained under certain conditions from the appropriate authorities.

14

Maintenance General The Paragrubber ECO needs very little maintenance: After usage clean the machine. All nuts and bolts must be checked and tightened after initial 10 working hours and then for every 100 hours. Tighten if necessary. Worn and damaged parts must be changed at the earliest possible moment in order to secure correct and safe function. Use only original KONGSKILDE wearing and spare parts. Lubrication Roller, grease for every 20 hrs.
