Conventional Injection Chemical Injection Skids serve the purpose of injecting a precise and accurate amount of chemical into

a system at a required pressure either continuously or intermittently. Conventional Chemical Injection Skids are assembled bringing the following components together.

Skid Structure: Skid structures are provided to accommodate tank, pump, motor and the other auxiliaries and is fabricated from structural steel and is of continuously welded structure. Skid base frames are integrated with drip pan to collect drained chemicals. If required, skid structure is provided with fixed or removable type of sun shelter designed as per the wind load to prevent it from the severe climatic conditions. All the structural materials are either hot dip galvanized or painted as per the client requirement. Tank: Tanks are provided to store chemicals which need to be injected. Normally tanks are of horizontal cylindrical with dished end or vertical cylindrical with flat/conical/dished bottom and flat/dished top or of rectangular construction and can be designed as per the ASME Sec VIII Div 1 with U-stamping, API 650 Appendix J, Roarks formula for stress & strain, DEP 31.22.20.31-Gen., BS 2654, BS 4994, ASME Sec X or as per the clients requirement. Material of construction can be SS316L, SA 36 or with GRP. Tanks can be painted as per the clients requirement. Pump: Pump is the heart of any chemical injection system and is the source of generating flow and pressure. These pumps are designed as per API 675 latest edition standard. The pumps can be of diaphragm or plunger type with manual/automatic stroke control and run by electric motor, solar powered motor, solenoid driven motor or air operated motor. Valves and Instrumentation: For safe and trouble free operation, each chemical injection skid is provided with set of valves and instrumentation for different operation and application. Normally each skid is provided with level gauge for visual indication of liquid level inside the tank, level transmitter for alarm or trip function in case of low liquid level inside the tank, calibration pot to calibrate the flow rate, pressure gauge/switch/transmitter for diaphragm rupture detection, strainer/filter to prevent any impurity from the

tank, suction pressure gauge/transmitter to detect the low pressure, discharge pressure gauge, pressure relief valve to protect the line from over pressurization, pressure transmitter for high pressure alarm/trip, check valves to protect the system from any back flow, flow meter to measure the injection flow rates and any other accessories as per the clients requirements. Electrical: All signals are terminated into skid mounted junction boxes. All controls like pump running local/remote indication, local start/stop of the motor, remote start/stop of the motor, remote stop, Emergency stop of the complete system, process trip and any other controls can be implemented from local control panel. All electrical components are certified as per the area classification requirements. Conventional Skids are suitable for operation in both Hazardous as well as Safe Zones.
