strengths into your liIe? Are you applying the lessons that you would want to share
with your children or grandchildren? Are you the person the reporter described? II

Once you discover your purposes, the key is to incorporate them into your liIe. LiIe
and work oIIer a tremendous amount oI opportunity to live your purposes. We just
have to Iind the deeper meaning in everyday things. When you connect your every-
day liIe with your values, belieIs and convictions, you Iuel up with purpose.
For example, even iI you don`t love your job, try to Iind purpose in it. Perhaps it`s
something as simple as making people smile every day. Or, Iind your purpose aIter
work. My Iriend Amy Ielt her purpose was to make people laugh. As a
pharmaceuticals rep and comedian she makes doctors laugh by day and audiences
laugh by night. So, now connect your purpose to your everyday personal and
proIessional liIe.
Write down one statement oI purpose Ior your proIessional liIe. For example, you
might write, 'My purpose is to develop my employees into successIul leaders. I spend
the time and eIIort to train them. I am patient when they make mistakes. I set high
expectations so they strive Ior the very best.
Now write down several rituals that will help you live this purpose. For example,
one ritual Ior the statement oI purpose above might be, 'Personal Development
Seminar. The action would be 'listening to a monthly speaker once a month on
Mondays.
