Modelling of a New Six-Phase High Voltage Power Supply for Industrial Microwave Generators with Magnetron by Phase

This new system consists to couple identical models of si single! phase transformers with magnetic shunt supplied respectively by si !phase voltages system. The operation of the modelling with *(T+ code of the power system for a magnetron) consists to use essentially the developed model of its transformer which is a ,uadruple in - composed of saturable inductances) able to translate the non linear phenomena of saturation while ensuring the process of stabilization of the magnetron current. The feasibility study was carried out satisfactory and the analysis of the obtained results confirms the possibility of functioning of this new system without interaction between magnetrons) that allows to obtain relative to current device the gains of size) volume) cost of implementation and maintenance and so makes this system more economical while ensuring the process of regulating the current in each magnetron.

3. 41T56789T461 9urrently) the single phase power supply of one magnetron for generator microwave uses a HV transformer with magnetic shunt :3;!:33;. To participate in the development of innovation technology for industrial fabrication of power supply for magnetrons of microwave generators used in domestic or industrial applications) this work is part of development of a new type of HV power supply with character si !phase for microwave generators supplying several magnetrons. That presents multiple benefits in terms of reducing of weight) volume) electrical wiring and of cost during the implementation and maintenance of such a new device. The tendency toward the new device will be therefore a different version of the model single!phase currently made by the manufacturers of microwave in domestic ovens or industrial applications. 4t may have either a single!phase transformer :3%;!:3'; or three!phase) or si !phase (<igure 3) supplying several magnetrons by phase and not the present case as a single phase transformer for magnetron. The (odelling of this new generation of power for magnetrons pass obligatory by the modelling and dimensioning of its own new HV transformer with shunt.

=efore developing the real modelling of a si !phase system of supply HV for 1 magnetrons by phase (<igure 3)) we found it useful to treat before the feasibility study of the nominal functioning of a new high voltage power supply with

a character si !phase for a magnetron by phase (1 > 3) from the modelling with *(T+ code :3?;!:%?; of a single!phase HV power supply for magnetron. %. (67*@@412 6< HV +6$*5 A8++@B <65 (C21*T561 The modelling already developed :3;!:33; of a single!phase HV power supply for a magnetron "## $atts!%&'# (Hz (<igure %) consists essentially to model its HV special transformer with leakage flow which ensures the stabilization of the anodic mean current in the magnetron.

this model is presented in its single!phase e,uivalent circuit reduced to the secondary which seems more convenient to study the operation of the transformer with *(T+. The immediate relevance of this model is to assign at each inductance a relation non!linear Fflow!currentF of the n26(i from the geometric parameters of a precise portion of the magnetic circuit of the transformer) allowing so of translate its real operation in non linear regime. To perform this modelling :3;) :E;) :&; we sought to integrate the model of the transformer in the circuit of power from the source to the magnetron (<igure E)) where we represented the microwave tube by its e,uivalent circuit deduced from its electrical characteristic that is formally similar to that of a diode of dynamic resistance +78U$8I near of E'# and the threshold voltage * E"## volts. The elements of the model including the non linear inductances were determined from the magnetic sheet and the geometrical dimensions of the transformer. *ach element of a saturable portion magnetic circuit) the section A) of medium length l) is represented by its inductance *(i 7 n26(i $i where the ,uantity n26(i and its corresponding current i can be determined from the curve = (H) of the material used and geometric elements using the following relations/

The e,uivalent model obtained of this transformer will be integrate into the overall schema of the power supply to be adapted at the modelling of entire system with *(T+ which able to take into account the geometry and non linear magnetic properties of materials. The e,uivalent circuit must translate the behaviour of the all power including the magnetron and transformer with shunt. The simultaneous resolution of the electric and magnetic e,uations of all system is too comple and the solution can be only digital (*(T+) that analytical with the possibility to study the choice of materials and dimensions of the transformer with a view to a possible optimization.

To validate this model) we carried out tests on a microwaves generator made up of the following elements/ IC HV transformer with magnetic shunt of nominal characteristics/ f>'# Hz) A>3?'# VC) 83>%%# V) and 8%>%EE# V(resistance of the primary back to the secondary rJ3>3##) secondary resistance r%>?') number of primary turns/ n3>%%&) number of turns in the secondary n% > %&##)0 IC condenser with a capacity 9>#)K L< and a high voltage diode 7HT 0 IC magnetron designed to function under an appro imately voltage &### V. To obtain its nominal power) it needs an average intensity 4mean > E## mC) but without e ceeding the peak value of its current (4peakM3)% C).

4n addition) the manufacturer has possible to e tract the values * > E"## V and 5 > E'#$. The figures & and ' indicates that in nominal functioning (83>%%# V and f>'# Hz) the results of simulation by *(T+ of the device) in non linear mode) are in concordance with the e perimental waveforms observed in these same conditions. 4ndeed) between peak to peak values) the variations relative never e ceed ?N. Taking into account the precision the various data and acceptable tolerances on operation of the magnetron) the validity of modelling was considered to be satisfactory. 6n the other hand) the stabilizing effect of the current magnetron has been checked with respect to the

The si !phase transformer) not yet so far modelled or made) is represented by si identical models of power supply for magnetron coupled in star and supplied respectively by the se !phases voltages system out of phase % H? between them. The output of each model supplies its own voltage doubler and voltage stabilizer) composed of a capacitor and a diode which in his turn supplies a single magnetron. These signals have the same form as those of a classical power supply with a single transformer by magnetron. The phase shift between them of ?# degrees confirms the absence of interaction between magnetrons. The operating points of these magnetrons are not longer disrupted) which important for a stabilized current of the power supply. (oreover) the breakdown of each magnetron does not affect the operation of other remaining magnetrons. Sust replace the magnetron off service by a new magnetron. &. 9onclusion The feasibility study conclusive of the new power supply with a style si !phase for magnetron by phase will certainly lead us to undertake the actual study of the si !phase power supply of several magnetrons by phase by modelling and in properly sizing its own transformer si !phase to shunts) which will probably help reduce the size) volume) weight and electrical wiring. This work can also be performed similarly to the case of the same type of power supply to tree!phase or si !phase for several magnetrons by each phase) of useful power 3### $atts or 3%## $atts to %&'# (hz. $hich contributes to the development of a real new systems three!phase or si !phase supplying several magnetrons ("## $atts) 3### $atts or 3%## $atts to %&'# (Hz) by phase) for microwave generators for industrial applications. 5*<*5*19*A
