OBJETIVOS GENERALES: Estudio del ingls aplicado a la ingeniera industrial, haciendo especial hincapi en las estructuras y en los procesos de formacin de palabras caractersticos del mismo. CONTENIDO: BLOQUE TEMATICO: UNIT 1 Reading. Grammar: the noun phrase (premodification and post-modifications); the verb phrase: word order (revision); enough with nouns and adjectives. Notion: how to explain. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 2 Reading. Grammar: clauses of condition; clauses of purpose. Notion: how to describe (objects); how to define; how to express equivalence / non-equivalence. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 3 Reading. Grammar: passives; full / bare infinitives; -ing form / full infinitives. Notion: how to describe (processes). Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 4 Reading. Grammar: passives with reporting. Notion: how to express time relationship; how to define. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 5 Reading. Grammar: relative clauses (restrictive, non restrictive and reduced clauses); subjectless clauses. Notion: how to express cause; how to express consequence or result; how to exemplify. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 6 Reading. Grammar: inversion; whose vs. of which; impersonal sentences. Notion: how to express contrast; rhetorical functions (revision) how to exemplify. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. UNIT 7 Reading. Grammar: relative clauses with prepositional verbs; omission of relative pronouns; impersonals. Notion: how to give instructions. Vocabulary: word formation and new vocabulary. METODOLOGIAS: Lectura, anlisis y traduccin de textos ingleses sobre ingeniera industrial. Ejercicios gramaticales de anlisis y reescritura. Prcticas de escritura de textos tcnicos. EVALUACIONES: Prueba escrita al finalizar el cuatrimestre que constar de: 1.Traduccin directa de un texto nuevo. Se permitir el uso de diccionarios pero el tiempo estar limitado. (2 puntos) 2.Ordenacin de oraciones dentro de un prrafo y construccin de prrafos, empleando los conectores pertinentes. Uso de conectores segn funcin. (3 puntos) 3.Ampliar un resumen o resumir un texto. (3 puntos) 4.Formacin e interpretacin de trminos. (2 punto) Ser requisito imprescindible alcanzar un 33% en cada uno de los apartados.
