Doctors
Desk . . .
Jan Heesch
There have been a number of weddings
and births in the years that we have all been
together at the practice. Surgery Assistant,
Jan Heesch, has been helping you out
going on 26 of the 33 years we have been
here in Fort Dodge. She and her husband,
Jerry, went from having high school and
junior high kids to having a houseful of
grandkids.
Her daughter, Ann Heesch Dall, has
been married to Dan Dall for 18 years.
They are currently living in Solon, IA.
Dan is a Captain on the Cedar Rapids Fire
Department and Ann is a Radiography
Intervention nurse at Iowa City Hospitals.
I asked Jan to give a laymans
explanation of what this means and what
Ann does. She (Ann) works to keep a stroke
from being a crippler or killer. Ann looks at
the under aura (somewhat like a radiograph)
to nd the clot and stop it from reaching the
brain. A good parallel that Jan and Jerry
If you must cancel an appointment,
please try to give at least
week`s notice.
Diane Darr
Diane Darr has been working as a
dental assistant and lab tech in the Spencer
ofce for 19 years. She lives in Ayshire,
IA.
Her six grandchildren are

Wyatt - Josie - Jordyn
gave was that it nds the problems heading
toward the brain similar to what is done to
prevent heart attacks.
Ann and Dans children are 16-year-
old Austin Dall; 15-year-old Colton Dall;
12-year-old Graeson Dall; and 10-year-
old Aidan Dall. The boys are all active in
sports, school, the church, and community.
Interestingly, last year Solon played St. Eds
in the state baseball tourney. Jan and Jerry
showed up in their Solon shirts to support
Austin, who pitches and plays left eld,
and were asked by people they knew from
St. Eds what they were doing sporting the
shirts of the competition. Thats certainly
one of the fun parts of having friends and
patients all over the state and surrounding
areas of the Midwest. One tends to run into
people one knows all over the place.
Colton, at 15, is active in all sports
but relaxes playing golf. In honor of their
shared interest, Jans dad gave his golf clubs
to him before he died. Now the sport has
a special loving interest as well as the fun
he has playing.
Graeson Dall, at 12, is honing his
skills at sports, academics and leadership.
We hope to keep you informed about his
activities as he grows into adulthood.
Aidan looks just like Annie did when
she was his age. I mentioned to Jan that
he looked mischievous in this picture but
probably he was not because Ann certainly
was not. She agreed that he was the most
ornery of the bunch.
Earlier this year she took an article
(one of those 25-years-ago-today) from the
Messenger to Solon for the boys to enjoy in
which Ann was honored as the high scorer
on her basketball team. They found it hard
to believe that she was able to be such a
good player when she was also the shortest
on the team. Jan informed them that this
was most assuredly so. Kids need to have
their ideas of who they think their parents
are shaken up a bit now and again.
The rest of Jans kids will be in future
Perioscopes. The latest development is
that Jake Heesch will be returning to Fort
Dodge, following his residency completion
at the Mao Clinic in March. He signed a
contract with Trinity Regional and plans
to start as a CRNA in April or May. He
brings with him to our medical community
his wife, Megan, who is a Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner, and three kids (including a
new baby).
Jean Hoover
One-year-old Josh Martens is the son
of Jeans daughter, Amanda Hoover, and
Nick Martens. Benjamin Hoover is 3 years
old and is the son of Jean and Rons oldest
son, Nathan and his wife, Amy, Hoover.
Matt is the assistant manager of Fairway in
Greeneld, IA. He has actually worked at
Fairway since he was 15 years old. Amy
works from home as a managing editor for
the on-line information source Love to
Know.
In the 15 years Jean has been running
the ofce, her kids have grown up and had
kids. Her youngest, Matt Hoover, graduated
from high school in 2008, having attended
kindergarten round-up the same year as
Bruces Alexandria and Jans grandson,
Dillon. Matt is the kid who is so great with
animals featured two years ago with the
hunting falcon he trained. He is living and
working in Fort Dodge.
Leticia Baldwin
Leticia Baldwin, is a registered dental
hygienist, who has worked in the Fort Dodge,
Spencer, Algona, and Carroll ofces. She
shared this fun picture of her kids with us.
Her kids are all active in school activities,
the Fort Dodge community, church and
sports. You read about Zach earlier in the
Perioscopes when he signed to play sports
for St. Ambrose College.

Baldwin.
